Academy Awards Live Blog Part 2

OK, time for serious drinking. Its been fun. Don't be a stranger.

I love Uggie.

Really anti-climatic.

The crazy just wafts off Tom Cruise

Its been a long time for Meryl since she won. Viola coming over to kiss her is so classy.

"Brad, when you hit on me that night when you were stoned, who knew I would be up here talking about you for Best Actor."

I think George popped a blood vessel.

Closeup on Clooney's face if he loses. I bet he will be halfway out of his seat while Natalie is opening the envelope.

Tom Cruise talking about movies is just like his Scientology rant. That creepy laugh.

Steve Jobs for?????? Elizabeth Taylor was rightfully last.

Jimmy Kimmel as John Cusack

7p-8p

No Oprah. Today is the 7th day and God rested.

The Artist director slipped some tongue to his wife. A real kiss. Not just air. I love French accents.

Hello Ireland. Just for that win, I will celebrate St. Patrick's Day for the next 15 minutes.

Hello Milla. Come look at my Fifth Element.

You know what the Oscars is missing? The Emmy Award singers. #givewilmervalderramaajob

Start with the guy who f**ks his granddaughter & give an award to the guy who f**ks his daughter.Voters have scary stuff on their hard drive

Please be Bridesmaids

Huh. I think Wahlberg picked Moneyball. Angelina was pretty excited a non Brad Pitt movie won.

I almost saw Angelina's "Jolie"

Will Arnett is a funny funny man. Doing a Hulu commercial and mentioning Arrested Development which will only be on Netflix

You can skip the actresses when passing out the candy and popcorn.

Would you rather lose if there were 9 others against you?

50/50 chance of picking best original song

Jonah Hill was behind Brad and Angelina. Now he is next to them. Baby sitter interview?

Penelope Cruz looks like a Spanish Grace Kelly tonight.

An old white guy is the President of the Academy. Shocker.

  15. TinTin was terrific.

    ReplyDelete

  33. So this is off topic but as a lurker, I have wondered where Rita has been!?! Sorry if this has already been discussed on the site but I haven't seen any comments from her in weeks. I've always appreciated her opinion here...

    ReplyDelete
  35. Will is one of my favorites

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  37. Just curious if she has been around?

    ReplyDelete
  38. All hail Bacchus!!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Ms. Good, she's just not HERE, but she's around, I talked to her the other day on a different site. Some people were really rude to her and I think it bummed her out, but I don't know for sure. I miss her, too. She was always nice to everyone, even if they were total fuckwads.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Like these people eat buttery popcorn...

    ReplyDelete
  41. Where are you @bnl?

    ReplyDelete
  42. @kj - I could get behind Will as a host.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Get ready Jackie, Angie is coming up!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Thanks for the welcomes in the last thread, y'all are awesome. I love the posts here, read 'em almost every day.

Wasn't ZachG a popular guess to a Blind about a funny who hugs all the ladies and asks them out?

    ReplyDelete
  45. @EmEye - Rita has as much right to be hear as any of us. Tell her I said hello.

    ReplyDelete
  46. You people are soused!

    ReplyDelete
  47. You guys don't think Will would be a little much for a host? He's so bigger-than-life.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Angelina is going to present? Wow.

    ReplyDelete
  49. what happened to the adjusting microphone? They had one in previous years, fun to watch it go up and down.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Jason, I'm writing it down right now so I don't forget - I will do it tomorrow morning, promise. And ITA with you on that.

    ReplyDelete
  51. @bnl - you ok? I'm with @RenoBlondee, we haven't heard from you for awhile.

Maybe she hooked up with Vinnie/Paulie....

    ReplyDelete
  52. I'm feeling it already, Laura!! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  53. Eeeek, put that chicken leg away, AJ!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Hello Morticia Addams.

    ReplyDelete
  55. How's your leg Angie?

    ReplyDelete
  56. O M G Angie giving good LEG

    ReplyDelete
  57. OMG just had to down a fifth of Scotch!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Angie is fucked up. Or was earlier in the evening and should now be in bed.

    ReplyDelete
  59. What is wrong with Angie Jo??, she seems more off than usual.

    ReplyDelete
  60. if the camera puts on ten pounds and angie's lips weight 20, just how much does she weight?

    ReplyDelete
  61. Welcome Thumb. I was hoping Rita would show tonight. She was fun on GGs' night.

Whoa, there's Angie.... I got some drinking to do...

    ReplyDelete
  62. Angie even stands weird.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Califblondy, I had SUCH A HEADACHE the next day!

    ReplyDelete
  64. Angie please eat something so my previous lesbian fantasy with you can come back

    ReplyDelete
  65. Is the co-writer of The Descendants named Fat Nixon?

    ReplyDelete
  66. Fair or not, no screenplay will win an Oscar with George's name on it.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Angie looks ha-ha-hammered.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Moby co-wrote The Descendants?

    ReplyDelete
  69. Angie needs to go the way of Demi...REHAB!!!

    ReplyDelete
  70. Hhahahahahahaaa...these are funny dudes

    ReplyDelete
  71. Yeah, Angue seems completely out of it. She looks weird too.

    ReplyDelete
  72. the dude making fun of Angie will never be heard from again...

    ReplyDelete
  73. I knew a girl who dated Payne in the mid-90s. What a wackadoo she was! She ended up stalking him after he dumped her.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Ahahaha the guy is posing like Angie too! Priceless. I like Alexander Payne (Sideways, swoon).

    ReplyDelete
  75. "What a great night for my mother to be in the audience." -Mike Wisouski

    ReplyDelete
  76. Does anyone else here the tunnel sound when they talk into the mic?

    ReplyDelete
  77. Angie's forehead is so shiny I can se MYSELF in it.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Yay! Dean Pelton won an Oscar!

    ReplyDelete
  79. Angie's arms are sooooo skinny.

    ReplyDelete
  80. I'm so glad that guy called AJ out on her ridiculous vamp-pose!

    ReplyDelete
  81. I know it won't happen, but please Kristen win!

    ReplyDelete
  82. I wanted the Wiig to win =(

    ReplyDelete
  83. Payne's has to somewhat cool if his favorite movie is La Dolce Vita.

    YAY WOODY!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  84. And the Oscar goes to the creep who is currently f-ing his former stepdaughter.

    ReplyDelete
  85. great the child molesters are well represented tonight

    ReplyDelete
  86. Thanks for the update Em! I missed that particular thread but can understand the frustration. I hope she comes back. Most of the time she says what I am thinking which is great because I can't usually post during the day.

I've seen her on other sites too but lately CDAN is all I have had time for.

    ReplyDelete
  87. I cannot believe Woody won! Good for him. Though it's obvious why he is usually shunned.

    ReplyDelete
  88. I meant Werner. Not Wener. I'm gone.

    ReplyDelete
  89. RDJ in this video - priceless. I hope that he makes it.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Funny, Jason, I didn't even notice the typo

    ReplyDelete
  91. Ugh I am really over Sacha Baron Cohen. I just don't get his brand of humor.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Adam...I love you...but the truth is you need to spend some of your millions on some new clothes..

    ReplyDelete
  93. I guess that Polanski's win broke the Academy's creep-o-ban, because I thought Woody would never win again.

    ReplyDelete
  94. I share your sentiments on Penelope Cruz tonight, Enty. She looks timelessly elegant, and so beautiful. Michelle Williams isn't looking too bad either.

    ReplyDelete
  95. @Jason at least you didn't type Weiner Herzog!

    ReplyDelete
  96. I'm not a big fan of Penelope Cruz but she did look very nice today, one of the best if not the best.

    ReplyDelete
  97. My Mom picked Midnight In Paris to win, I said No Way. Meh. Haven't seen any of his flicks since Crimes & Misdemeanors, my loss more than his am sure. Just can't get past the seducing-the-stepdaughter-he-helped-raise part.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Ms. Good, the same thing used to happen to me all the time - she'd say what I was going to say, so I agreed with her a lot.

She reminds me of my sister so much, they write the same.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Mila looks weird too. But that could be the vodka.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Milla looks like she REALLY wants us to find her sexy.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Hey, Enty and I said the same thing about Penelope. He's got good taste :)

    ReplyDelete
  102. Wiig looks awesome tonight, she really is a natural beauty.

    ReplyDelete
  103. I love the those ladies - why can't they group host the Oscars!

    ReplyDelete
  104. The best bit so far was that writer striking a pose like Angie.

This program is such a shitfest. It just sucks!!!

All of their pretentious jokes: Making a million for voicing a cartoon; buying the Dodgers. It's like douchebag central up in there.

Was that bit with RDJ and Goop supposed to be entertaining?

All of your comments are cracking me up.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Aw, what a nice dad.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Read something about Kristin that said when she dresses up for the red carpet her goal is to look "haunted". Huh.

    ReplyDelete
  107. @EmEyeKay if you chat with Rita again. Let her know everbody at some points gets into a tangle with some trolls.

I got into a huge thing once becuase some took offense at my using "hubris" in the wrong context in their over educated egotistical eyes.

Trolls go away, if she ever gets into a thing again we are here and have her back.

    ReplyDelete
  108. I love Melissa McCarthy but that dress does nothing for her.

    ReplyDelete
  109. I really like that black disco dress on Rose. Dig her fashion sense.

    ReplyDelete
  110. GOUP HOST NEXT YEAR!! Scorsese - DRINK!

    ReplyDelete
  111. @timebob, I'm putting you on the list!

    ReplyDelete
  112. EmEm, we'll do a hangover check in the morning. Right Enty?

OMG, now we know the drinking game word. That was funny. Scorcese looked clueless.

    ReplyDelete
  113. I guess we should have gone with Scorsese instead of Angelina.

    ReplyDelete
  114. didn't someone suggest Scorsese earlier? Am I confused?

    ReplyDelete
  115. wow, ellie's hair perfectly matches her dress. or vice versa

    ReplyDelete
  116. HA, Scorcese is the IRL drinking word game? Love it.
"Swamp rats from Lousisiana". They look like characters.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Spare me with the fucking trolls bullshit....

Some of you are just a little too precious with yourselves.

    ReplyDelete
  118. I'm sorry, but I'm usually into this show. This year, not so much. I'm glad I'm hanging with you all, but I also wish I watched the Walking Dead. Love that show.

    ReplyDelete
  119. When does Jimmy start? I'm holding out for him..

    ReplyDelete
  120. We had Hugo winning but we should have added Scorsese by name!

    ReplyDelete
  121. This isn't a very exciting Oscars at all!

    ReplyDelete
  122. EmEyeKay the Scorcese drinking game originated at the SAG Awares by the bridesmaids actresses

    ReplyDelete
  123. oh to have been on the set of Bridesmaids...!

    ReplyDelete
  124. That was me that mentioned the Scorsese drinking game - The girls started it at the GG's

    ReplyDelete
  125. is anyone going to watch GCB? this is the first i've heard of it

    ReplyDelete
  126. I was precious with myself once in public and almost got arrested.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Thank you, Amy

    LOL @Netta!

    ReplyDelete
  128. I never saw any fighting with Rita on here. Was that suring the GG live chat?

    ReplyDelete
  129. GCB looks like a great new show...

Michael Douglas - I had a big crush on him in the 80's. Not so much now.

    ReplyDelete
  130. I think Michael is looking good for being as sick as he was.

    ReplyDelete
  131. Good Christian Bitches looks awesome.

Am I the only person who cant STAND a Woody Allen film? I tried, but nothing works for me

    ReplyDelete
  132. ms. cool, I don't remember when, not that night tho.

    ReplyDelete
  133. Thank GOD, not Woody Allen.

    ReplyDelete
  134. Marty's dissed again, y'all.

    ReplyDelete
  135. Michel having my tissues won.

    ReplyDelete
  136. Amy, I don't like Woody either. :)

    ReplyDelete
  137. Morgan Freeman didn't clap for the short documentary award going to the burn victim treatment movie. Made him look uncaring. Sandra Bullock was near tears. Or acted like it.

    ReplyDelete
  138. amy, that is NOT what it stands for... is it?

    ReplyDelete
  139. jeez, i am watching this without a drink. it's too late to start now. ugh

    ReplyDelete
  140. @Amy I don't get the Woody love either.

    ReplyDelete
  141. @Amy - I've never been a big fan of Woody Allen. I thought a few of his films were amusing in the seventies and early eighties, but nothing since. What's worse I don't even like those now. A couple of years ago I saw Manhattan on TCM. I loved it when it came out, but now I just thought it was appalling.

    ReplyDelete
  142. On another channel, we are missing boardroom action on Celebrity Apprentice. I hope it's killing the Trump to know he's losing his time slot BY FAR.

    ReplyDelete
  143. I remember Texshan giving Rita a hard time.

    ReplyDelete
  144. @KJ it's never too late!

    ReplyDelete
  145. Meryl looks amazing!

    ReplyDelete
  146. ...says the guy who can't type "first" ;)

    ReplyDelete
  147. Meryl IS amazing!!

    ReplyDelete
  148. Yep, it is never too late so grab a glass. I like it when everyone gets along - I told y'all I was naive.

    ReplyDelete
  149. Omg they are so full of themselves gross.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yes! They really can't get overthemselves tonight! I'm losing interest- I highly doubt even actors care about "Best Edited Non Cartoon jerkfest soundtrack" award. Cut it ti 2 hrs max, just show us the major awards and call it a night.

      Delete
  150. c'mon, andrew, made that joke just for you!

    ReplyDelete
  151. I loathe Woody Allen films. Mostly because he makes the lead actor portray him, including the annoying way he talk/whines. That, and the creepy predatory way he initiated a relationship with his stepdaughter. Gross. I just can't get past it.

    ReplyDelete
  152. I think the GG live blog had more people than are here tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  153. didn't we break 900 comments?

    ReplyDelete
  154. I didn't like the guy making fun of Angelina.
I don't care if she looked like an idiot.
So immature. Is he a child?

I expect a kid to make fun of someone, not an adult.

    ReplyDelete
  155. I think there is about the same amount as posters as the GG's - maybe more comments?

    ReplyDelete
  156. hannah, he'll never work again, so i'm sure he's learned his lesson.

    ReplyDelete
  157. I think the best part of this show is the commercials....

    ReplyDelete
  158. they aren't giving us a lot of comment-worthy material, except "yawn"

    ReplyDelete
  159. If Woody had won the directing Oscar there might have been a half-hearted response. Two would have been hard for a lot of people in the hall to take, I'm guessing.

    ReplyDelete
  160. christ, we were all talking about our jobs earlier!

    ReplyDelete
  161. the fro is back

    ReplyDelete
  162. @Jason B E & all--just wanted to chime in and say that I was here for both the GG blog and tonight's live blog. Have been thoroughly enjoying everyone's commentary.

    ReplyDelete
  163. @EyEmKay - yes it stands for Good Christian Bitches - book series....

    Who is this?

    ReplyDelete
  164. when did Ken Russell die?

    ReplyDelete
  165. LOL @ Netta.

I haven't liked a Woody Allen movie in years and years, but I did think Midnight in Paris looked interesting.

I think I'm flipping the channel to Amazing Race... but I'll keep up with the drinking and checking in here.

    ReplyDelete
  166. thanks Amy. I wondered...

    ReplyDelete
  167. Ken Russell died in November...

And Jim Rash, the bald guy that made fun of Angelina, is on Community with Joel McHale... He is hilarious

    ReplyDelete
  168. ... and I shouldn't be, but I'm surprised.

    ReplyDelete
  169. Aw, ending with La Liz.

    ReplyDelete
  170. There are heads wagging in Emeryville that Jobs got an "Executive" nod. He actually had very little to do with building Pixar.

    ReplyDelete
  171. I realize that Whitney was on a downhill slant for a long time - but I'm still upset. Waiting to Exhale is one of my favorites.

    ReplyDelete
  172. please god, dont let lindsey lohan be elizabeth taylor even on the lifetime network.

    ReplyDelete
  173. please god, dont let lindsey lohan be elizabeth taylor even on the lifetime network.

    ReplyDelete
  174. oh god, I know that guy, he scares me, but he IS FUNNY. Well, I guess he'll work again, just get an awful lot of s@#t.

    ReplyDelete
  175. Crap..I'm lost in blogger world.

    ReplyDelete
  176. The commericials do rock

    ReplyDelete
  177. I wonder if somewhere Woody Allen is saying "Really? Are you, are you sure?".

    ReplyDelete
  178. They almost changed it to Good Christian Belles for the TV show, but decided to go back to the original book title, but to abbreviate it for TV ads.
