Rosie O'Donnell Headed For Split?
Unless you are named Blue or Ivy there is not really much to talk about today, so lets talk about Star Magazine and their report that friends think Rosie O'Donnell is going to get dumped because they are worried that this is the first same sex relationship for her girlfriend. I have said this from the beginning. The woman has always dated guys until she met Rosie. I don;t think it is necessarily like Anne Heche where Anne dated Ellen to get more famous. It worked for Anne but she was an actress looking for a boost. I have not heard that Michelle is looking for a television show or wanting 15 minutes.
Oh I dislike me for saying this: but Rosie, not such a nice person. Don't find her likable at all.
ReplyDeleteJust one extremely aggressive and abrasive bitch.
She reminds of "Bob" on Shameless. Always looking for a fight, making everything about her. even when she is not concerned.
Rosie never ever looks happy to me. She always does the open mouth, fake grimace thing for a smile. It's never in her eyes.
ReplyDeleteThere is no way they will last, all that aside.
I love Rosie and hope this works out for her. I am worried only because it seemed to move so quickly. No matter what anyone says, it takes a long time to adjust to sharing your life with someone.
ReplyDeleteShe definitely looks happier than she did when she was with Tracy. I think all the kids made for too much stress.
rosie sure seems to jump into relationships quickly, i wonder if her partners see it as a huge red flag? it's sad b/c for all accts she's a nice lady and i think she may be getting used and not know it...michelle may just be in the honeymoon phase of their engagement...i wouldn't be surprised it goes to hell in a hand-basket soon.
ReplyDeletesidenote: big props for ro & gf for participating in bongos' 'feed a friend' charity event...it's a neat thanksgiving tradition that rest./club started, and excellent outreach to the community, so yay for that.
Pookie, that can be a side effect of being a lesbian, you may or may not have heard the Uhaul joke but it can definitely be the case. I have a lesbian friend that got engaged after seeing a woman for a month. And yes of course this happens in hetero relationships, but it is pretty common for lesbians.
ReplyDeleteThe girlfriend may not be looking for 15 minutes of fame, but she may be looking at $$$. This whole thing is highly suspect. I don't doubt that Rosie is in to her; however, I'm thinking the girlfriend would not have given Rosie a second look had she not be famous and have millions. I mean, come on. She's conveniently gay. I my opinion.
ReplyDeleteMamma Mia, totally agree. It's just a little too suspect.

"in" not "I"
ReplyDeleteAGAIN ?
ReplyDeleteGee thanks for all the ads Pharoh.
ReplyDeleteThat's cool.
My sister is a lesbian, and she moved in with her girlfriend after one date. They are pretty miserable too. I think Rosie just jumps into relationships too fast.
ReplyDeleteMy roommate is a lesbian who was married 2 times before she fell in love with her past girlfriend. They lasted 17 years. I KNOW why they fell in love with one another. Both of them are extremely wonderful people. Not so with Rosie. She's very grating. Couple that with kids and it can be a difficult relationship. But yeah, Rosie is powerful and maybe that's what turned her head. Expect an expensive divorce for Rosie if they marry.
ReplyDeleteJust because it's her first lesbian relationship, it doesn't mean the woman has any ulterior motive. Many women don't pursue lesbian relationships until later in life. In fact, I think love and sexuality aren't always so cut-and-dried to be able to put a label on it.
ReplyDeleteIt pretty much just sounds like Star magazine was having a slow news week, too, and culled a non-story from the curbside analysis of a few people associated with Rosie. I don't put too much stock into it.
The girlfriend looks a bit like Elle McPhearson in this picture, she's very pretty.
ReplyDelete@KellyLyn - ITA, a lot of women discover their true sexuality much later in life. Many still submit early on to living a standard hetero life, and have the guts later on to absolutely assume who they really are. Like many men as well.
Rosie is probably no easy to live with. She doesn't have a filter, and you'd have to have a really thick skin.
ReplyDeleteno = not. I could use a proofreader!
ReplyDeleteRosis seems to me to always be miserable or PO'd about something. What happended to that happy woman who had the talk show? She seemed like she ate rainbows & sunshine for breakfast. Then she turned into this person who seems like she does shots of vinager & kicks puppies.
ReplyDeleteI'll always defend Anne. I think I was real for her. She and Ellen are on decent terms. What happens with them could happen in any heterosexual relationship as well.
ReplyDeleteAs someone who was married to a man until I was in my late 30s and who began dating women in my early 40s, I can promise you that the intensity of a lesbian relationship is mind-boggling the first time. I should have broken up with my first gf after 3 months. It took three years. All the other lesbians in my friend circle would nod with sympathy and click, "there's nothing like your first relationship with a woman. No wonder you can't break up with her.". I don't think this is a premeditated Anne Heche situation, but rather a case where the new gf is flooded with intense, overwhelming emotions and only time will tell if those are lasting or not.
ReplyDeleteRosie is the Egg McMuffin of failed relationships.
ReplyDeleteA friend of mine had married twice then had a relationship with a woman for 14 years - neither of them had been with a woman before. Now she is in a relationship with a man. I think for most people their sexuality is not carved in stone.
ReplyDeleteOne of my lesbian friends is always getting engaged. Whenever she meets a new girl she starts looking at rings.
ReplyDelete@gladyskravitz...
ReplyDeleteSorry? Can you explain that? I honestly have no clue what you meant. One of my friends is going through that and I heard a comment similar to that, but I had NO clue what they were talking about.
My last move 10+ years ago was due to Lesbian U-Haul Syndrome*--my roommate kicked me out so her GF could move in--so yes, I'm quite familiar w/how fast lesbians can move in together/get serious. Whatever the situation is here, I hope it works out for the best for everyone involved, esp. since there are children in the picture.
ReplyDelete*"What does a lesbian bring on her second date? A U-Haul!"
I like Rosie...but I do think she rushed into this relationship.
ReplyDeleteI like Rosie too and I loved her radio show on Siruis, I have watched her tv/cable show but it does not have the same vibe. Rosie is very close with two of her childhood girlfriends and I could see them being concerned (we got to "know" them on the radio). I also think with Tracy there were just too many kids to deal with, 10between the both of them. I love her "abrasive" personality especially when she turns it on herself and jokes about it. There were many times I was hysterically laughing in my car. I hope she finds the happiness she is looking for.
