I think Melanie finally ran out of plastic surgery options and had a head transplant. There is no other reason why her body isn't attached to her neck correctly.

So much so that when my now-husband and I picked out tuxedos for The Big Day we planned to have his (just his) be a longer style too. But when the tuxedos arrived, that style looked ridiculous on him so we had to quickly get a standard jacket(like his groomsman's) in for him instead.
