People's Choice Awards Could Not Change Results In Time- Katy Perry Wins Big
Katy Perry waited so long before canceling her appearance on last night's People's Choice Awards that it was too late to do anything about it and she was still allowed to win. The awards show which will give an award to anyone if you promise to show up even if a category has to be invented always gives the most to the biggest star they can get to appear and perform and Katy Perry was that person. If you do not think the awards are rigged for appearances, I want you to consider this one fact. Katy Perry won four awards last night. Everything from guest spot on a television show to favorite female artist. Now, you would think someone who was cleaning up like that would also win best female pop artist. If not her, then it should be Lady GaGa who won for favorite album of the year. Beyonce? How about Rihanna? Nope. None of those people won. Who won favorite female pop artist? Demi Lovato. There is no way on this earth that she beat out those other nominees, except she agreed to appear. Voila. You win!!! Everyone wins. It is like playing in a youth league and at the end of the season banquet if you show up you get a trophy.
Did Brandt accept for Katy Perry? They're such " good friends" now.
ReplyDeleteThat performance by Demi made me change the channel. I've never cringed so hard.
ReplyDeleteThe People's Choice Awards were last night? Yawn.
ReplyDeleteFuck Katy Perry and her antisemitic father. Hope Russell Brand takes her to the cleaners in their divorce. He stands to make about $30m. off the dumb, fat assed bitch. He must have been back on the smack when he married her.
ReplyDeleteThat does seem suspect. How could Demi beat those other artists? I didn't watch, don't think I've ever seen this award show.
ReplyDeleteWater for Elephants won for best "Dramatic Movie of the year".
ReplyDeleteNot to get the Twihards' panties in a bunch (yeah, yeah, Twilight should've won that category, and even all the other movie AND music categories, it's just the best), but when Elephants beats movies like Harry Potter, Drive, Ides of March, and the rest, you know the "People" are desperately delusional.
Demi sounded like one of those elephants when singing. She was that bad. Which makes me sad, because I am rooting for her to get her act together.

ReplyDeleteI just saw that Demi won that on my phone a little while ago and could not for the life of me figure out how she won.
ReplyDeleteYou're not 100% correct here. Supernatural won two awards and they weren't there. They were actually completely shunned by CBS and the PCA. The fans spent roughly an entire week power voting, only to have the networks crap all over the show again even though they won best network drama and best scifi.
ReplyDeleteI gave up on the People's Choice awards years ago because even as a little kid I could see they were pure bs.
ReplyDelete@Rita, are you kidding? WFE beat out those other movies?
ReplyDeleteThe People's Choice Awards are officially a crock. That's ridiculous. All of a sudden I don't mind that Katy bowed out.
yeah, was flipping through, and fell on Jake Gyllenhal accepting the award... Which I found odd, that Jakey was accepting for Water for Elephants...
ReplyDeleteUntil the camera got close and it was Rob Pattinson butching it up!
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thought Demi Lovato was just bad. The song sounded like something Pink threw in the trash. She was out of key or something, I dunno. She's a lovely girl, but this performance did her no justice.
ReplyDeleteSeachica - LOL, "Demi sounded like one of those elephants when singing." I will be smirking all day now.
ReplyDeletePersonally I think all the Awards are rigged tbh.
ReplyDelete^
ReplyDeleteNo kidding when Fred Astaire won for Best Supporting Actor in Towering Inferno I KNEW something fishy was going on with all of that stuff
I was working on a project last night so listened mostly.
ReplyDeleteDemi was bad, and then got louder and bad.
Ellen D's hair looked really cute.
Ewan looked delicious as usual.
Cuba Gooding Jr. and woman beater Terrance Howard presented the last award, Cuba did an "angry black man" rant about no black nominees. It was supposed to be jokey I think, but since I don't know why Cuba was even there maybe he was serious.
Nathon Fillion won an award, I think he's handsome so rigged or not I was glad he got up on stage.
I did not see the awards as I was out to dinner and typically shun the lesser awards shows (Sorry, Oscar snob here)but I would love to see the train wreck of Demi's performance. People's choice my ass!
ReplyDeleteeasy to bag on the PCAs, given they're a huge offender on the 'we'll give you an award if you show and bump our ratings/shares' scale...BUT let's keep in mind all the other award shows do it to, some are just more discreet about it.
ReplyDeleteJohnny Depp won two awards (favorite actor and voice work in Rango) and he wasn't there. As far as Water for Elephants winning, the PCAs are popularity contests, nothing more. If fans of an actor vote and tweet often enough, they can engineer a win. Obviously RPatz's fans spent a lot of time on their computers/smart phones.
ReplyDeleteMissed it intentionally. It seems I am glad I did if Demi L. beat out a talent like Adele
ReplyDeleteI watched the WHOLE thing. Yawn.
ReplyDeleteAgree on Demi's voice. It was painful.
I think what the cast of The Big Bang Theory said in the beginning about who votes for these things, pretty much sums it up.
@Del Riser - I can't believe I missed Ewan!!!! He was wearing his scruffy sexy boots again (looking at pictures). That man... yum comes to mind.
ReplyDeleteYou can see Demi's performance here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9cf6mt-vib0
ReplyDeleteNot digging her mullet dress.
