Lauren Scruggs Is Out Of The Hospital And Pictured For The First Time

It is so good to see Lauren Scruggs out of the hospital and on the mend and she looks just as beautiful as she did the day before she got hit in the face by an airplane propeller. Her recovery has been amazing and hopefully now that she is out and getting better she can go back to being one of the best bloggers around. I was thinking of just making her the top photo, but it is news in its own right, so gave her a post.

  3. I am amazed she survived and that she's walking here. I guess her left arm was amputated during the accident? For someone who walked into a propeller she looks very good and I wish her a speedy recovery. Thank goodness she's making it!

  4. @paris what is the point of that question exactly? obviously it's explainable by the circumstances, or it wouldn't have happened. are you trying to blame her or call her stupid? or are you worried it might happen to you? i honestly don't get it.

  5. Who cares how the accident happened. What matters here is this kid has got strength few of us could muster.

I, for one, am impressed and am routing for her all the way. And she looks great to boot.

**didn't Katy Segal's dad die from walking into a propeller??

OMAMA: Yes, Boris Sagal was partially decapitated while on the set of a movie. He walked into an aircraft.

My understanding is that Lauren got distracted somehow. Someone in the plane calling to her, something like that?

It was a terrible accident, just one of many that happens in life. No one's to blame.

  7. I don't feel like defending my previous comment, so I deleted it.

It was curiosity. I did say I am GLAD she is healing.

    yeesh.

  8. ^^ I wasn't trying to send negative energy your way at all P.sucks.lit.

I had read many a comment saying exactly what you were saying, or asking. And my point was that sh*t happens. What matters is how you handle walking away from your mistakes. And this kid is doing it with FAR more grace than I ever could.

No hate for you. None. However, I would like to thank you for clearing it up in MY mind who, why and how get's the comments deleted. My dumb ass thought the author of the blog deletes comments and I've long wondered what was said to get them deleted. So, I thank you.
    Jahbless

  13. Did she lose her left eye? Didn't they at first think she had brain damage too? Looks like that's not the case, so great.

Still beautiful. Lucky girl to have survived this horrific accident. I hear she has a fantastic attitude about all this. I'm not sure I would have been so brave considering. Glad she's doing well.

  15. She looks good and happy. Well, as happy as anybody can after such a tragedy. Such a sweet girl. We are living in a mean hard world at times and this young woman was having a thrilling time up in the air gazing at Christmas lights. If something as simple as looking at Christmas decorations can bring somebody that kind of joy I believe that says a lot about what kind of remarkable young woman Lauren truly is.

  18. @ Paris: I saw your question merely as curiosity not an indictment as to her logic or smarts. I too wondered how it could happen. I think everyone is overwhelmingly happy she survived.

The only comments that ever get deleted are the racist obscenities of one certain pathetic troll. Anything else that disappears, the fault is Blogger's. Their system can be really wonky sometimes.

  22. On-topic, the pilot said that he was talking to Lauren, and he thought she was clear of the plane so he ducked back inside until he heard screams. From everything I've read, the standard practice is to not let anyone near the plane while the propellers are running, so he fucked up.

Regardless of the seriousness of her injuries, she must have just been barely grazed, or things would have been a lot worse.

Figgy, yep, she lost her left eye and her left hand. They were worried she might have brain damage, but thank goodness, that turned out not to be the case.
