Heather Locklear Headed To Rehab Again
Heather Locklear is out of the hospital and is headed to rehab. The actress was so out of control on Tuesday that her sister had to call 911 before Heather ended up killing herself. Apparently her sister or someone told police that Heather spends four days a week in bed hungover. See, when you have no job you have to get up for each morning it can be easy to get into the habit of drinking a little earlier each day until you start getting wasted at noon and then keep going until you pass out. Of course then your young, very impressionable daughter sees you like this so that is not a good thing. Of course with her father she is not much better off considering he got pulled over for DUI while she was in the backseat. What I can't believe is that CPS has never come out and investigated this situation at all. Yes, I am sure Heather's family and nannies do the majority of the watching, but shouldn't someone go out and take a look? Think about if Heather was not a celebrity, how would CPS ever know? Imagine all the kids out there that suffer without anyone knowing.
I can't get over her eyes...they just look crazy.
ReplyDeleteSad stuff. I think her daughter is about the same age as mine. 15 or so maybe. It seems like I remember her, Madonna and myself being preggo at the same time. She might be a little younger though, my memory is shit sometimes.
ReplyDeleteIf she were a single lady- knock yourself out...but she has a daughter in her home. Get it together girl!
ReplyDeleteYes- one can only imagine the situations children find themsleves in....my daughter is making a teepee village outside right now, and her & her friends are upset with me as I won't let them build a real fire, only a fake one. They are 9 and still in their jammies and full of oatmeal. I hope Ava does have some regular in her life- and lots of it.
Good luck Heather, good luck.
Way to mention the father's role in childrearing. It's rare that you do that; it's typically all the mother's/woman's fault, in your eyes.
ReplyDeleteAnd given how often you discuss being wasted, I'll bet you wake up hungover at least four mornings a week, too.
I'm still pissed about yesterday's deplorable post, in case you can't tell. You should be ashamed of yourself. According to a recent blind of yours, RDJ is heading back to rehab soon. He has a child on the way, and has made worse mistakes in his past than Heather has. Will you castigate him as harshly? Doubtful.
@Reno - You're right, her daughter had started modeling very early on. 14 would be my guess, or 15 tops. Wonder how it feels to have drunken parents who always appear in the tabloids. Friends her age are very aware of gossip!
ReplyDeleteThis is a sad situation and hopefully she will get her sh*t together. Ava has probably "seen it all" at this point in her young life with the things both parents have done. What gets me though, is they (the parents) are still willing for Ava to go into modeling and show business at her young age, where really bad things can happen, but then hey look at the parents.
ReplyDeleteAnd, sadly I'm sure there are lots of kids that do suffer :(
For CPS to get involved wouldn't somebody have to report her? And should they have been involved when Richie got his DUI with two minors in the car? Richie has been photographed overseas with alcohol, here though he can still get into trouble (I think) unless his probation terms are over.

ReplyDeleteHL was always so beautiful and poised, it's sad to see her descend into this. for the sake of her daughter tho, i hope she gets serious about her recovery.
ReplyDeleteYa but, the dad is likely aware of the situation with Heather so if he were a good dad wouldn't he step up and have her move in with him? Maybe not if she is the better parent of the two.
ReplyDeleteSomeone give this woman a job! She's great! She's a proven ratings booster.
What ticks me off is this woman has the means to get help and she has the responsibility to someone besides herself. So does the father - I don't know what their custody situation is. I don't think anyone should be making excuses for her about depression and alcoholism being a disease. She is a mother and needs to step it up.
ReplyDeleteI wonder how long it will take Denice Richards to offer to take Ava in?
ReplyDeleteLOL@ Katja!
ReplyDeleteHeather always seemed like a nice person. I hope she gets it together.
I have always liked Heather and hope this time it sticks. I doubt she has much contact with her kids right now though. I wonder if knowing the nanny will cover for them is one of the reasons celebs are able to party so much. The rest of us curb it because we know the kids are going to be up and raring to go at 6am no matter what time you went to bed last night.
ReplyDeleteI really hope she gets it together this time, I've always liked her, and no child deserves to see their parent(s) like this.
ReplyDelete@Elvira, so glad you mentioned RDJ. Since there was a new post/blind about Johnny Depp maybe splitting with MS.Paradis over his falling off the wagon, could it mean that my beloved RDJ is in the clear and still being a good boy?
When new semi-reveals come out we don't always get back to the original guesses and let them off the hook...if merited.
Apparently boys can always get away with being boys.
Elvira, what are you talking about (I'm not being sarcastic, I just don't know what you are referencing with the deplorable post or RDJ?)
ReplyDelete@anotheramy. Agreed - having to get up when the kids get up is a great disciplinarian.
ReplyDeleteI'm still not sure addiction is Heather's problem, or the drinking is a symptom of the real problem. Whatever the case, she is not in a good place right now and while I don't think it is rehab she should go to, at least it will be safe.
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree with the posters who say she should get a job. Those 4 am wake up calls to be on set were probably what kept her from over indulging in the past.
Please Heather, get well.
If she had any self-worth other than that tied to her looks (which is BS cuz she's still plenty gorge, IMO) then maybe she wouldn't be getting so wasted all the time. Sounds like a wicked case of depression and lack of self-worth to me.
ReplyDeleteWTH do I know, though?
My father was an abusive drunk. I wish someone had dragged his ass to rehab years before my mother finally got the nerve to divorce him.
ReplyDeleteI wish her all the best. On a side note, can I just rant for a moment & say that she desperately needs a bloody haircut! The chick has had the same look for her entire adult life. It doesn't look sexy or 'young' Heather.... It just looks dated.
ReplyDeleteThat is all.
More and more when I come on this site I see people attacking the posts. While that is your opinion and you are welcome to it, if it makes you so angry you have to write a bitter post, maybe stop reading it. I know I just breeze on by posts about Casey Anthony because I will be become angry quickly, so why bother?
ReplyDeleteNobody has mentioned the fact that Heather spent two years working with Charlie Sheen on "Spin City." She seemed pretty together until after that. Just sayin'.
ReplyDeleteI feel bad for her and her daughter. As far as CPS becoming involved, they are so overwhelmed in every state what with tax revenues being down and budgets being slashed, they aren't going to worry about a kid who has a roof over her head, food in her belly, and isn't being beaten/raped on a regular basis. Especially when the roof over her head is such an expensive one. Simple neglect doesn't get much attention these days, especially when the neglect is from rich parents. I'm not saying Locklear's daughter isn't being exposed to things that she shouldn't be, but compared to what other kids that CPS does investigate are dealing with, her situation doesn't qualify. Sad, but true.
ReplyDelete@kelly -- I skip the Casey Anthony posts for the same reason. Ditto the Teen Mom and Toddlers and Tiaras posts.
ReplyDeleteBut when a blogger opens his posts to comments, people are free to dispute what he says -- and personally, I think they should speak up. Enty *can* be pretty sexist sometimes (which is partly why I think the people who speculate that he's a woman are CRAZY).
Lainey doesn't allow comments at all, and Kaiser at Celebitchy outright bans people who have the audacity to disagree with her. You have to basically audition to be a commenter on ANY of the Gawker sites. At least Enty doesn't ban the people who think he's a dick. ;-)
^Very true.
ReplyDeleteI feel terribly sorry for her daughter. That's a rough age to be going through something so public.
Unless you've experienced being an addict you couldn't possibly understand. Best wishes to HL and her family . As a parent she owes her children another trip to rehab and this time I hope it sticks. I'm sure her ending up there isn't from a lack of wanting/trying to be clean for herself and her family.
ReplyDeleteHeather was so beautiful and fresh faced when she started out. I wish her the best, especially with a daughter in the picture.
ReplyDeleteMy brother saw her at that Lakers game she was photographed at a night or two before she went to the hospital. He said she was sloppy drunk. Actually, I think the words he used were "wasted off her ass."
ReplyDeleteI'm also hearing she's refused to go to rehab. I hope that's not true. Go to rehab, Heather!
Sad, sad stuff. Benzo drugs are highly addictive intoxicating drugs with a more than high potential for abuse. The drugs were okayed for 2 to 4 weeks of use, to break anxiety and temporarily deal with panic attacks. A person who takes benzo drugs for years slowly loses the capacity to deal with real-life stressors, and many people discover quickly that five Xanax and five drinks is a near-perfect "high." Good luck Heather! She's awesomely beautiful still, and I have a fondness for her. Get off the drugs, girl.
ReplyDelete@Barton Fink: I really appreciate your insight. Thank you for sharing and enlightening us, that are "less educated", in the realms of addiction. You're able to do so without insult and just easy to understand logic.
ReplyDeleteNo amount of money or fame can fix depression or drug addiction. I hope having family around will get her the support and honest 'tough love' she needs.
ReplyDeleteAs for her daughter, she needs support and counselling just as much: http://www.adultchildren.org/lit/Problem.s
