Four For Friday - The Craziest Television Show In The Past 20 Years

Back in the day, lots of television show casts were out of control, but now, you rarely see anything other than a 9 to 5 mentality and everyone kind of goes their own way before and after work. An exception now is probably something like Vampire Diaries. They all love each other and have not reached that level of fame yet.

Probably the all-time greatest cast as far as partying went was 90210. The original one. They were out of control all the time. Shortly after that show went off the air came another show which quickly took the crown.

Before this person became a drama queen, she used to share stories about her time on the set and what exactly happened and if her career had not moved from middle C to almost A list recently I think she would have eventually broken down and written a book about what happened. The cast featured mainly unknown actors. During the first season, every female cast member except one had sex with this unknown actor who had been in nothing before, but is now a very solid, but unlikable B+ television actor who has had some really bad movies.

His favorite actress on the show was the one who got in the most trouble. A lot of trouble. This still relatively unknown actress spent the entire first season coked up out of her mind. Always a person who had abuse issues, the huge paychecks sent her out of control, but she was also someone who could be counted on to be crazy and our B+ list actor loved that and they would hook up lots of nights after she had been out. It was a year long booty call.

One of the actresses on the show was unknown at the time and crawled up to B- before slowly sliding back down to her present position of C+. She spent the first month of the show happy and fun and that is when she slept with the B+ list actor. After that month though she met someone and became an obsessive worrier who thought her new boyfriend (B- list television actor at the time) was going to leave her every second and he basically kept screwed with her mind their entire relationship.

On the outside was an actor who thought he was the best thing since sliced bread but in reality did not have as much talent as he thought. Just because you were the star of the show does not mean you are the best actor. After one year he refused to talk to just about anyone other than the producer to complain about how many lines he got. Now he usually works in movies, but his chance at above the line roles went out with poor box office performance.

There were others in the cast, including the now drama queen who started off shy but grew up fast and found herself a boyfriend which stopped her from playing in many of the games and parties that many of the other cast members indulged in on an almost daily basis. Strip poker and naked Twister while downing jello shots every 7 minutes was one of their favorite games to play and that was on set. When they started getting paychecks, the parties and women and behavior got even crazier.

  5. Buffy

    Drama Queen actress - Willow
B+ douchy actor - David Boreanez
Troubled Actress - his favorite - Buffy
Actress who is now back down to a C+ - Cordelia
Actor who thought he was all that - Giles

Too lazy to look up the names of the actors (I love Bones however so I knew that one)

    Cheers folks and Happy Friday!

  6. I was thinking "In Living Color," but that was a decade before 90210 went off the air.

  7. Buffy (NO!!!!!) premiered in 97.

This is gonna be fun to guess and discuss.

    ReplyDelete
  8. The second paragraph from the bottom screams so much Topher Grace though.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I really want this to be That 70's Show, even if it started in '98 and 90210 went off in '00...

C-list to A-list actress: Mila Kunis, dated Macaulay Culkin for a long time
very solid, but unlikable B+: Ashton Kutcher
B- before slowly sliding back down to C+: Laura Prepon (dated Chris Masterson on Malcom in the Middle)
actor who thought he was the best thing since sliced bread: Topher Grace

    ReplyDelete
  10. Buffy is a good guess. Was also thinking Dawson's Creek or One Tree Hill. I never watched the latter but it had a large ensemble cast and Chad Michael Murray is definitely unlikeable. Though it probably would have mentioned him marrying a co-star.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I thought Shannon Doherty would be in there somewhere...

    ReplyDelete
  12. I'd rather have it be That 70s Shit than my beloved Buffy (Giles...sigh).

  13. if the dates are a little off, it works..

with Mila Kunis as the Drama Queen, boyfriend who got her to stop partying Macaulay Culkin.

B+ that slept with everyone Ashton Kutcher

Lisa Robin Kelly as the messed up actress

Laura Prepon as the former B-current C+ with the former tv actor boyfriend Chris Masterson.

And Topher Grace as the star who wouldnt talk to anyone after a year.

  17. In some ways "That 70's Show" is a good fit:

    Drama queen - Mila Kunis
B+ Television Actor - Ashton Kutcher
Actress who spent the entire first season coked up - Lisa Robin Kelly
Present C+ Actress - Laura Prepon
New Boyfriend/B- Actor - Christopher Masterson
"On the Outside" Actor - Topher Grace
Drama Queen's Boyfriend - Macaulay Culkin

  18. Works for me, Lori.

Wouldn't there have been some mention of Fez or were the actresses too old at the time?

    ReplyDelete
  19. It works for me, even though the dates are a bit off. 90210 was well on its way to going off the air by 98-99.

ITA with That 70s Show and the above guesses.

  22. Agree with all the That 70's show guesses. @Alli had it thought out like I did.
How could it be wrong when it fits so nice?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Think it is "That 70's show", the one that got in trouble was the big sister played by Lisa Robin Kelly (Has a DUI conviction 2010), Alli explained the others pretty good.

    ReplyDelete
  24. @Lioness70, I dont see you comment on here often, so everytime I see your picture I think its adorable...

    ReplyDelete
  25. I like the 70's show guess as well. I wasn't feeling the Buffy guess even as I wrote it. I just like the idea of DB being a douche back then as he is now.

    ReplyDelete
  26. this unknown actor who had been in nothing before, but is now a very solid, but unlikable B+ television actor = Ashton
His favorite actress on the show was the one who got in the most trouble = the one that played the blonde sister.
One of the actresses on the show was unknown at the time and crawled up to B- before slowly sliding back down to her present position of C+ = Laura Prepon.
On the outside was an actor who thought he was the best thing since sliced bread but in reality did not have as much talent as he thought. = Topher Grace
    drama queen = Mila Kunis

  27. This does sound like That 70's Show. The troubled actress is the one who played Laurie, Topher Grace's sister. She was replaced by a different actress after one season?

  28. This does sound like That 70's Show. The troubled actress is the one who played Laurie, Topher Grace's sister. She was replaced by a different actress after one season?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Topher Grace made one movie years ago that the critics liked and no one watched. After that, his career sank. I've seen very little of him in the past decade or so.

    ReplyDelete
  30. @Lioness - he did that comedy that looked good, but no one went to see last year... It was set in the 80's. I think he was typecast as Eric, and cannot get out of it.

    ReplyDelete
  31. ^ Obviously no one watched the movie, because I can't even remember its name.

Everyone loves the cat wearing a Kate Gosselin wig! LOLOL

    ReplyDelete
  32. Alias started in September 2001....

    ReplyDelete
  33. Yeah I was thinking that 70's show as well. Let's face it, people stopped really watching 90210 the last few years anyway.

Also, wasn't the sister written out or had her contract "not renewed" because of drug use? Thought I heard/saw whispers of that on gossip sites at the time.
It also fits due to the ages and how most were unknown.

Is Prepon a B or C list these days though?

Hahaha I also thought of Scrub s (I believe that started in 2001)
The thought of Turk doing naked Twister just cracked me up. But obviously it's not them, not if he and Braff are still great friends (Love that show!!)

    ReplyDelete
  34. Damn you guys are good.

Ok, so who was Jack the Ripper?

    ReplyDelete
  35. Oops, Rita, that was supposed to be a follow-up to my other post.

So he made TWO movies that no one remembers? Time to rethink your career, dude.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Topher was in a Spider-man movie too, wasn't he?

    ReplyDelete
  37. I looked at this list of TV shows from the 2000's and couldn't find anything that really fit:

    http://www.crazyabouttv.com/decades/2000s.html

    Six Feet Under, maybe?

    ReplyDelete
  38. While I think the characters mostly fit, I don't think think this is That 70's Show. First of all, the timing is off. Second, has Mila Kunis been described as a drama queen? She seems to fiercely protect her privacy, so I have a hard time seeing her as a tell-all book writer. (Also, Macauley Culkin as the one who stopped HER from partying? I think not.) Finally, due to how much Enty despises Wilmer, this clue would have included him in there for sure but no clue fits his description.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Traffic was the critically acclaimed movie. The buzz he got from that is why he left 70's show before it ended. 'Take me home tonight' is the comedy set in the 80's, and I only know that because my cousin had it on when I visited her over Christmas. We spent more time talking about the music than anything going on in the plot. Someone on IMDB commented that movie was completed for well over a year before it was finally released. That's never a good sign.

I'm on board with this guess.

    ReplyDelete
  40. @ABlake - I remember the gossip about the one who played Lori, Eric's sister. Yeah, she was apparently a drug addict, and that is why they had to replace her. I think when her character was getting an interesting line too... She married Fez.

Also the one who played Donna's hot mother was cut out for drug abuse as well.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I don't think there's much left to say here - the Topher Grace thing was a giveaway. He was notoriously distant from the others and "into his craft", while they bought and invested in businesses and partied together.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Thanks Rita!
Wow that sister got around, didn't she also date Kelso as well at some point?

Ha, I wish I could have used my brothers pool of friends for dates when I was a teenager, they were older and HOT. But noooooooooo

    ReplyDelete
  43. I *HATE* That 70's Show so I *LOVE* the idea of it being the answer to the blind.

I didn't watch the show but I know the major players so I'm going with Alli's guess with the exception of

very solid, but unlikable B+: Wilmer Valderamma. According to IMDB, he's been doing a fairly steady amount of TV work. Mores the pity.

Misch mentioned Shannen Doherty; I recently saw her on a commercial for online college degrees:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q5EvsDfNnhA

Take heed, Wilmer! Hollyweird can ostracize you too for bad behavior!

    ReplyDelete
  44. ^I would've thought the "very solid, but unlikable B+" would be Kelso's Douche Kutcher..?

    ReplyDelete
  45. Lisa- ITA with you!!!
I also dont think this is 70s show, ya'll are reaching with this one.

And yeah, Wilmer woulda been mentioned as one of the actors.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I can almost get on board with That 70's show as the answer, but a few things don't sit right with me, i.e. Mila Kunis being a drama queen and the fact that the other two actresses (Laura Prepon and whoever played the sister) don't seem to fit.

It's probably right, although I'm sitting here trying to figure out if it could be Freaks and Geeks or Veronica Mars.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Speaking just for myself, their douchiness aside I would go for Ashton long before Wilmer (when it came to just hooking up)

Then again, that's interesting. Maybe the girls were too young for him and just the right age for Wilmer at the time. Plus he DOES have a history of not minding his girls drugged out.

Not saying Ashton would care, but Wilmer has a paper trail

    ReplyDelete
  48. I also dont think it's Buffy (thank god) mainly because Giles is known for being a sweetie to the cast and in general. So he wouldnt fit as the d-bag who didnt talk to anyone.

Though I could see Sarah Michelle Gellar as the Drama Queen WAYYY before Mila Kunis for sure.
And Mac Culkin (as Lisa mentioned) wouldnt hold anyone back from partying, but Freddie Prinze Jr. might. Especially with his dad's past)

    ReplyDelete
  49. Are you guys crazy? This is totally the original Melrose Place.

  53. @hunter My first thought as well!

    ReplyDelete
  54. I'm going with 'That '70's Show'. That's the only one that fits this perfectly!

    ReplyDelete
  55. I think this is Ally McBeal.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Cosign Lori's. I was going to type this but she saved me the time!

    ReplyDelete
  57. @ Rita - (Again referencing IMDB)- Wilmer has done a string of theatrical movies that I've never even heard of! It was a toss up between "really bad movies" and "straight to video". Wilmer edged him out. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  58. I wouldn't call Wilmer a B+ though. Doing primarily voice work on kids shows doesn't earn you a B+, whether he's a dick (he is) or not.

    ReplyDelete
  59. To be fair, they're both quite douchy, and would perfectly fit the description. But you may be right, I did not IMDb any of them, and did not know of anything Wilmer had done. I just learned that he is on a new show this season!

    ReplyDelete
  60. I was gonna go with Dawson's Creek to be different, but that started in 1998 according to IMDB.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Hunter - I think that's a better guess. I'm going to look up other shows that began then. I like how so many of you make That 70s Show fit, but something's not right. Melrose Place, yeah, I can see all of that happening! Plus, Heather is in the news today, good reason to put this blind out there.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Pretty sure it's not Ally McBeal - from reading Portia di Rossi's memoirs it seems that the cast didn't really hang out or do much of anything together (nor did they eat, apparently).

    ReplyDelete
  63. ... except Melrose doesn't fit the timeline! Drat!

    Boston Public?

    ReplyDelete
  64. It's a show that had a male star or lead who was probably newer on the scene, hence thinking they were more talented than they actually were.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Everything about this fits that 70's show, well done! I'm surprised Wilmer isn't mentioned in here, since Enty seems to hate him. I do believe the "star" of the show is Topher Grace, and he was supposedly the least friendly with the cast in general so it fits. Wilmer was very close to Ashton and Danny.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Anonymous11:53 AM

Just throwing in my two cents...I worked on Melrose for 5 years and hung out with the cast-no way its them. I also worked on Buffy and SMG is a friend. No major drama moments there-some minor but nothing like THAT.
That being said I never worked on or knew anyone that worked on that 70's show.
Could someone do a breakdown of the A,B, and C players we are looking at?

    ReplyDelete
  67. Alli, I think you've got a winner. I read that Topher thought of himself as a very serious actor, and he does do movies now. And Mila is almost A list. And for a douche, you can pick between Ashton and Wilbur. The rest fits too.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Wilbur....heeheehee. :D

    ReplyDelete
  69. Yeah, I gotta say, I came in to guess Melrose Place, but the That 70s show is an excellent guess. However, I also have trouble thinking of Kunis as a "drama queen". Really??

    ReplyDelete
  70. If he had thrown Wilmer in there it would've been a dead giveaway. Plus that entire cast was very young it probably was like late high school/early college foolery.

    ReplyDelete
  71. I also sadly think Kutcher is not a B+ TV actor, but rather A or A+. Like it or not, facts are facts. Whatever ranking you prefer, his movies are still shit though.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Also mila was like 15 when it started so his use of "grew up fast" seems like a clue. He could just mean "drama queen" b/c of all of them she's now the only real "Hollywood" actor. No one else gets to go to the awards shows and gets the treatment she gets in magazines (except Maybe Ashton but I think that was more due to Demi)

    ReplyDelete
  73. @Vicki Cupper, re: Jack The Ripper, isn't the best guess a member of the Royal Family, or the royal family physician?

    ReplyDelete
  74. I don't have much trouble imagining Mila Kunis as a drama queen, post-Black Swan success and brush with the Timberdouche (I still like her lots). I even thought the drama queen comment referenced this recent blind item about a female celebrity attending a charity event and having diva attitude (with Mila being the main guess). Of course, I can't find said blind item now that I'm looking for it...

    ReplyDelete
  75. As to the comments Mila was 14 at the time, she could have been the one the actor didn't sleep with.

And I'm on board with Caprica's train of thought about the drama queen referring to her big screen success. The rest of the sentence doest flow with the typical "drama queen" reference.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Mila is supposed to be extremely nice in person, there was a revealed blind about her helping a lady that only spoke Russian and was lost or something. And she plays World of Warcraft, how many drama queen's play online computer games?

    ReplyDelete
  77. @Vinbelle - Buffy stories, please!!! My favorite show of all time!

    ReplyDelete
  78. Anonymous12:55 PM

Definitely not Buffy. That show was too expensive to allow fuck-ups, there's no way the bosses would've allowed bad behaviour. Besides, none of the male actors fit.

    ReplyDelete
  79. "And she plays World of Warcraft, how many drama queen's play online computer games?:"

    OOOOOOOOOOOH plenty. PLEN...TY.
Trust. I love to play WOW but I had to turn off the chat screen and have left more than 1 guild because a supposed person hooked up with another supposed person and broke up a marriage or relationship.
Take a gander at some of the realm forums for WOW on battlenet, you cannot believe the drama some of these people create.

I can buy MK as being a drama queen. She's young, beautiful and for the past however may years was behind the scenes as 'ugly' Meg Griffin. Then Black Swan and FWB hit and everyone realizes she has something to offer. It would be hard to not buy your own press. I like her though, so I hope that isn't the case.

And yes Vinbelle, please share any and all Buffy stories you are comfortable with sharing!!!
    I miss Buffy:(

    ReplyDelete
  80. To RITA:

You are absolutely wrong about Tanya Roberts leaving the show because of drug abuse. I had the pleasure of interviewing Ms. Roberts several years ago and talked to her about leaving the show. Ms. Roberts' husband in real life has an incurable and debilitating disease. She left the show to provide care and companionship to the man she loves. She limits her her work to fan conventions, TV and radio ads and other occasional appearances which allow her to have an income while being there for her husband. She's an admirable person.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Cosign the 70s show guess...

but just had to add those of that think Topher Grace has only been in 2 movies.... not sure what rocks you've been living under.
He's got a good number of credits on IMDB but the few I could name just off the top of my head are
Win a Date with Tad Hamilton
    Spiderman 3
    Mona Lisa Smile
    Valentines Day
    Traffic
    In Good Company

I do agree he fits for the actor who thought he was the best thing since sliced bread. He's definitely got some talent but he did get type cast, and besides that he's not good looking enough to carry a main romantic lead or many action leads. He could be a good "side kick" type or best friend role but he probably thinks he's above anything where he's not the star.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Laura Prepon is in today's Random Photos.

  83. Anonymous1:30 PM

I loved working on Buffy, here is my inside scoop (although still bound by confidentiality agreements, sorry).
SMG is the consummate professional. She is awkwardly funny, very dark. I think she might get a bad rap because she is one of those women who knows what she wants, and gets it. (Not in a bad way).
Jim Marsters-totally funny, great guy, same with Aylson, Amber and Tony. I CAN'T say anything bad about Michelle T. Really I can't...

First few years of the show was trying to get organized, trying to get our heads on straight. By year four we were completely organized (coming to work at 6 leaving by 6. Before that it was WAY crazy).

I think the last season every one was just done. The series probably should have ended the year before. It didn't because of contracts (conceitedness) etc.

Inside scoop: Amber had a little bit of a weight issue, compared to the other girls...but seriously she is as normal as any of the rest of us, cause believe me those girls are TINY.

    ReplyDelete
  84. @Obitguy - Holy sh-t! Then why did they report (on E! I believe) that she was gone for drug reasons?

    Thank you for the info!

    ReplyDelete
  85. I don't see Mila Kunis fitting. She always seemed very grateful for getting the part on That 70's show. Also, she was underage and I can't see her wanting to cause any trouble.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Vinbelle- you made my day! I actually love that show but it was the first one that popped into my head. Thank you!

    ReplyDelete
  87. 70s show is really the only one that makes sense. I remember a long ago interview with Kunis where she had some less than flattering things to say about Ashton...and hinted that she gave up her virginity to him.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Thank you Vinbelle!
I could just eat up Spike with a spoon, he's yummy. Giles, too

    Was Xander cool?
How is Joss Whedon? I still crack up when I see his name when I watch reruns of Roseanne. That guy must have been born writing

    ReplyDelete
  89. Rita: Maybe they know something I don't know. This was back in 2003 when I spoke with her. This is the excerpt from my interview:

Rusty White: I’m a huge fan of "That 70s Show." Why did you leave?

Tanya Roberts: My husband got encephalitis, a brain disease during the fourth season and was in a coma for six months. I had to leave to take care of him. He’s still in a wheelchair, but I can go back to work this year. So, I’m might go back. But we’ve developed two shows while he was sick. So I’m really not sure what I’m going to do.

RW: It’s nice to see someone make that sacrifice.

Tanya Roberts: Thanks. He’s my best friend. We’ve been married 20 years. He’s coming along. That’s the good thing.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Caprica has a great point. I read it as in "this person is a queen of drama", not that she was a drama queen. I don't know why, but I did. And since that is the only thing that doesnt fit, my money is on that 70s show too

    ReplyDelete
  91. When did ER debut? I thought of that since the cast was big but I haven't really hashed it all out detail wise.

    ReplyDelete
  92. here's another set of TV shows by origin, 2000 and 2001:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:2000_American_television_series_debuts

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:2001_American_television_series_debuts

Wow: Alias, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Smallville, Star Trek: Enterprise, Lost, all came out in 2001???

    ReplyDelete
  93. just noticed Scrubs and Six Feet Under as well...

    ReplyDelete
  94. This is clearly That 70s Show; here's the breakdown:

*Drama queen, recently jumped from C to A list; started out shy, but grew up fast; found a boyfriend which stopped her from playing many games with cast members...

MILA KUNIS (the recent blind about her drama queen behavior at a charity event; started very young, hence the 'grew up' mention; started dating Mac Culkin- doesnt say it stopped her from partying, just that it kept her from partying as much with her cast)

*Solid, but unlikable B+ TV actor who does terrible movies; during the first season had sex with every female cast member except for one...

ASHTON KUTCHER (is there a more unlikable B+ TV actor at the moment? Mila was too young to screw during the first season, it makes no mention of later seasons; definitely not Wilmer since it mentions movies)

*Still relatively unknown actress who was coked out of her mind and was always in trouble + abuse issues; yearlong booty call from the unlikable B+ guy

LISA ROBIN KELLY (still so unknown that I had to google her; imdb says that she left in the 3rd season, returned toward the end of the 5th, and was then replaced after leaving again in the 6th season... sounds like trouble; recently got a DUI, must still have abuse issues)
@obitguy- Tanya Roberts played Donna mother, not Eric's sister, and probably did leave for honorable reasons.

*unknown actress who went from B- to C+; spent the first month being fun then became obsessively worried about her B- list (at the time) tv boyfriend

LAURA PREPON (met Chris Masterson, who was cast mate Danny Masterson's brother; he was B- at the time for Malcolm in the Middle; she seemed to be very clingy with him, they broke up after a pretty long-term relationship)

*outsider, main character, but thought he was way more talented than he was; now works in movies with poor box office performance

TOPHER GRACE (it is well documented that he did not play well with the cast and that he took things more seriously; left early to be a movie star, has been in many movies since that have just all bombed)

*It says in the last paragraph that there are other cast members as well. He just didn't include Wilmer, it seems

    ReplyDelete
  95. Immediately thought of 70s Show for this one. And I agree with those who don't think Enty meant "drama queen" in a derogatory way if he's referring to Mila Kunis. But I just read his post today about Angelina Jolie where he refers to her as a "drama queen." He mentions AJ's movie Gia and guess who played the younger version of Gia in that movie? Mila Kunis!

  96. Didn't Melrose Place take over 90210's crown?

  97. I do think that Topher is close to sliced bread. He is judicious (or not liked by casting) with his roles.

His latest HBO gig (too big to fail, i think) had the most memorable moment... sic nobody knows what is going on...

I hope he turns into a big presence in tv/movies. Granted he commits to my progressive leanings.

  98. The West Wing. They all went crazy from having to perform all those walk and talks.

    Kidding.

I like the same guess that everybody else agrees upon. Except for the fact that the show started in the summer of 98'. A whole year and a half before BH90210 went off the air.

  100. If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it's That '70s Show!

  101. I thought Topher was really good in Traffic. That movie is dark, but so well acted by the entire cast. I always expected bigger and better things for him. Y'all could be right that he is always holding out for leading man but isn't offered it.

  102. I've never seen Traffic, I'll have to check it out. I've seen him in other movies and he's never been horrible in them, but I would never see a movie just because he is in it. I'm indifferent, I guess

  103. Huh, when I was reading the blind, That 70s Show was NOT what popped into my head, however I've been convinced. Well done.

And for the love of God, I hope that the female that Ducher didn't fuck is Debra Jo Rupp. Not Kitty!!!

  104. Rita, you're right. This is the original sister for S1. I don't know who Tanya Roberts is.

  106. b - Nice analysis/ summation. Very well done. That was the nail in the coffin for That '70s Show.

Okay .. well .. again, then <3 Vinbelle! [And good thing my last comment was lost .. I think I actually typed Vinette! So .. I guess Blogger isn't so bad! ;)]

Second, I am on board with "That 70s Show." B has provided us with some pretty serious evidence.

Tons of others guessed it before me, but I think it really helps to see all of the info together like that.

@Principessa- your Kitty comment cracked me up!

  109. "In Good Company". That's it! That's the movie where Topher was lead, it got great reviews, but no one saw it. "Traffic" was an ensemble cast, right?

I'm the queen of "I heard of these movies, but I never saw them". I rarely watch movies on cable, and I've only been out to the movies twice in the last ten years - and both movies were kid oriented.

  110. Topher had 10 seconds of airtime on Ocean's Eleven
Starred in 'Take me Home Tonite'
such an awful movie sat on the shelf for 2,3 years.
    WHERE IT SHOULD HAVE STAYED.

  111. @Vinbelle - I love, love, love that you said, "I can't say anything bad...". Too funny. Goes to show you that in many cases, people get reputations based on how they act...

  112. Mila Kunis was only 14 during the first season of that 70s show, so I doubt this is her . . .

  113. Everyone referencing BH90210 still being on the air has to remember that not only was it not at its height of popularity towards the end, but many of the cast members by that time were married so hopefully as they matured and settled in life, their on set antics and partying slowed down.

  114. I had a few thoughts on this. My friend/neighbor worked on every season of "That 70's Show". Other than the crazy actress who played the blonde sister, it was a drama-free set. The cast members all got steady boy/girlfriends pretty quickly, and other than Topher's occasional diva outbursts (he was reprimanded several times for directing the other actors), it was a drama-free environment.

This whole item screamed out to me as "Dawson's Creek". Remember that the cast/crew were sent to sleepy Wilmington for 9 months every year, so it got to be an incestuous group more by necessity than anything else.

During a break in the 2nd season, another friend who used to write for a national entertainment magazine that is published weekly, did a lunch interview with Michelle Williams. Shortly into the lunch, she burst into tears (at the Ivy) and went on about how the rest of cast acts like they are at one big frat party/orgy, and because she prefers to study her lines and go to bed early, they treat her like "the ugly girl". She cited one of the other female cast members who had given herpes to all of the male actors (and feel free to use google images to see who that might be.) I'm assuming MW is the now A-list drama queen. Joshua Jackson also seems like a good guess for the B+ TV actor (he's on "Fringe") who has made bad movies ("Shutter", "The Skulls"). That leaves The Beek as the man-whore.

    Thoughts?

  115. @dogface Dawson's Creek does make sense for this one... I'm just not buying That 70's Show. The only other one I can think of that might fit is One Tree Hill.

    ReplyDelete
  116. As I was first reading it I was thinking it was Dawson's Creek, but That 70s Show fits too well for it to be anything else.

    ReplyDelete
  117. I'm sorry but I don't buy Joshua Jackson as the B+ actor because the clues are that he's unlikable and had never been in anything before. Before Dawson's Creek, Jackson had a solid career as a child actor and he was a star of The Mighty Ducks franchise. Plus, I don't perceive him as being unlikable. And if Katie Holmes is supposed to be the actress who slept with the B+ actor, it would mean that her later boyfriend Chris Klein would be classified as the B-list TV actor at that time, and he simply wasn't. (It does fit about Katie and Josh being together, though; I think we all know that by now.) I'm still going with That 70s Show.

  118. If it is "That '70s Show," with Mila Kunis as the drama queen, wouldn't the blind have mentioned that the boyfriend (Macaulay Culkin) is also an actor?

  119. The only thing that is keeping people from thinking this is about That 70s Show is Ashton's classification. He is NOT A or A+! If he was, what would you consider the amazing award winning tv actors who are no doubt higher than him? The A's are the Tina Feys, Jon Hamms, Bryan Cranstons, and Steve Buscemis. NOT the f'ing Ashton Kutchers. That 70s Show it is. Cases closed.

    ReplyDelete
  120. It doesn't say he is A or A+, it says unlikable B+, which is right on the money

    ReplyDelete
  121. ^ My comment referred to people saying this can't be That 70s Show because they think Ashton is A or A+, not B+ as the blind states. I think Ashton is B+ as well.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Oops, sorry Jolene Jolene! I read your comment as though you thought the blind item listed him as an A, but you disagreed even though you still thought it was T7S

  123. I do not think it's BTVS, nor that 70's show. Neither shows started in 2000.

I think the show is "Gross Pointe"
