Today's Blind Items
So, this former B list movie actor from a family of actors has not been getting much work lately at all. Part of the problem? Well he is a raging drunk who has spent a great deal of time getting thrown out of hotels. This one though tops it all. Our actor was in a country made famous by another movie for a film festival. While there he negotiated a deal to be in a movie. Obviously these producers do not read tabloids. He told the producers he needed $30,000 in cash to make the movie. Once he got the money from them he went on a drinking and partying binge. He came back to the hotel where he was staying and in the middle of the lobby got naked and started fighting with the producers. He then told them he was not making their movie, but he kept the money anyway.
K. Sutherland? That would be sad though, I love him!
ReplyDeleteOne of the Baldwins?
ReplyDeleteAh, Sutherland is a great guess. I still remember the christmas tree incident...
ReplyDeleteCharlie Sheen? David Arquette?
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing one of the Baldwins - is it Stephen who's the raging drunk?
ReplyDeleteThe country made famous by another movie - Cambodia, perhaps? Angelina sure made it famous with Tomb Raider. I'm thinking that once we have the country figured out, the rest will fall into place.
I'm thinking India, after Slum Dog Millionaire. And probably a Baldwin? Or Kiefer.
ReplyDeleteOkay - what is the Christmas tree incident?!
ReplyDeleteHe was drunk off his ass in an LA hotel and asked the hotel manager if he could trash the tree in their lobby.
ReplyDeleteI think.
Nonono he jumped straight into one!
ReplyDeleteHave you not seen this? Classic!

Yeah, I remember that one! It was funny as hell! Also, around that time he decided to simply pull his pants and undies down while at a diner. There is a picture of it somewhere: very cute ass.
ReplyDeleteI thought Stephen had gotten sober? But I still like a Baldwin for this.
ReplyDeleteWhat, which Baldwin was a B-list movie actor?
ReplyDeleteMore apt to think it's Emilio.
... or David Arquette.
ReplyDeleteI don't think any of the other Baldwin brothers ever made it past C+ at best.
^Oh! David Arquette is a great guess LMSM.
ReplyDeleteI'll put Randy Quaid out there because no one else has yet.
ReplyDeletebeau bridges
ReplyDeleteKiefer has plenty of money
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh I have never seen that video of Kiefer. I just replayed it five times in a row. Absolutely Hysterical!
ReplyDeleteBut I am clueless as to who this is. Just something different... Eric Roberts Though, not really sure he is a B.
I'll throw New Zealand out from Lord of the Rings
ReplyDeleteAnd Keifer would have experience strippig in New Zealand. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SuTXIXZssKs
ReplyDeleteCharlie Sheen doesn't completely fit since TV and drugs isn't mentioned but I'll still put him out there.
ReplyDeleteNot Keifer - he is STILL A list --- has a new series coming out in January, the 24 film is a go ---- has to be a Baldwin, Carradine, Arquette, or Quaid --- I submit either Randy or David Arquette....
ReplyDeleteHow about Charlie Sheen currently in Colombia? The Movie that made Colombia famous is "Mary Full of Grace" about a pregnant Colombian teenager becomes a drug mule to make some desperately needed money for her family.
ReplyDelete@Doc. I would never put Randy Quaid or David Arquette as B List actors, even in their heyday. I like the Baldwin idea.
ReplyDeleteSounds like Keifer but would you say he's from an acting family when it's just him and dad? Am I missing someone else in the family?
ReplyDeleteDavid Arquette sounds good but was he ever B list or were any of the Baldwins B list?
Which country was "made famous by another movie for a film festival"?
Scratches head....
Oooh Borg Queen..That's a good conx. And would totally make sense and I would consider that an acting family and sounds like something Charlie would do AND he is B list. I think you got it. It's almost cliche isn't it?
ReplyDeleteDavid Arquette has serious money from Court's Friends money (no pre-nup) and their production company together. He doesn't need $30,000 from anybody.
ReplyDeleteWhat countries host film festivals? I thought of "In Bruges" first, but I don't know if there's a festival there. Is Cannes too easy? Haven't read anything lately about any film festivals...
ReplyDeleteK Sutherland sounds like a very good guess, except he used to be an A list actor in movies in the 80's and he was also an A list actor for TV when he was on 24. Other than that, he totally fits and is a raging alcoholic.
ReplyDelete^Enty considers Oscar winner Kate Winslet B-list as well...
ReplyDeleteAs much as I love the Christmas tree story, I don't think it's Keifer. He has a new pilot coming on in 2012 called "Touch." I don't think that sounds like Enty's description of not getting much work lately.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't Italy hold a film festival in Venice?
ReplyDeleteWhat about the Wilson brothers - Owen, Luke and Andrew?
ReplyDeleteLuke Wilson? Bro of Owen. I've heard of his recent drinking problems.
ReplyDeleteSurfer you beat me to it.
ReplyDeleteJohn Cusack was at the Eurasia Film Festival in Kazakshtan. Just throwing it out there.
ReplyDeletemorocco...made famous by 'casablanca'...event: int'l film festival in marrakech...hmmm...don't know who's there tho.
ReplyDeleteNic Cage
ReplyDeleteBy every account, Kiefer is completely professional when it comes to his work and is well-liked in the industry. He reworked his jail time so no one else was affected by it, ie the show ran on. He was one of the highest paid on TV for acting and producing 24, and he's just come off a run on Broadway that he was praised for. Plus these days he's more known for TV, where he's an A. Yeah he drinks but on his own time, and I sure wish he'd stop.
ReplyDeleteI hope it's not Cusack!
I like the other guesses.
ok, I'm on board with Kazakhstan - but I'm guessing Michael Madsen. obviously his sister is an actress, but he's been married to several actresses, former brother in law to Cher and Danny Huston...lots of wild behavior in his past. Only thing is that IMDB shows lots of projects - but none of them that anyone's ever heard of...
ReplyDeleteI'm down with the Luke Wilson guess.
ReplyDeleteKazakhstan is a no booze type of place, unless the hotel is really ritzy and caters to foreigners like Dubai..
ReplyDeleteTrust me, if it was in Kazakhstan, it would have turned into a political nightmare and an "International Incedent" ;)
I read this as happening in a country made famous by a film festival darling. So, I think it took place in Japan, location of Lost in Translation, which was a smash at the festivals.
ReplyDeletewhat about scott caan. he is definitely not a-list. kiefer is still kind of a household name. he was on 24 for so long.
ReplyDeleteDaniel Baldwin was once found naked running around Plaza Hotel (I think) shouting Balwin. I don't think he'd have a problem doing it again.
ReplyDeleteLoving the Wilson guess.
ReplyDeleteWhat the sentence means: The actor was in the country for a film festival, and the country was made famous because of another movie.
ReplyDeleteMost countries are already "famous" (like, who hadn't heard of New Zealand?), but Kazakhstan was arguably "made famous" by the movie Borat. (Before that, it was for many people a "Where?" country.) So I agree with the guess that it was the film festival in Kazakhstan, so which family-name actor who is there is well-known for overdrinking and irresponsibilty? I WOULD like the Cusack guess but does he really have that reputation?
This is totally Randy Quaid. He was just arrested for not paying his hotel bill in Santa Barbara.
ReplyDeleteA country made famous by a movie... Brazil?
