Nelly Sued For $20K By American Express

Apparently the rumors are true and Nelly has no more money. For the past year, there have bee stories floating around that Nelly lost all his money gambling. It is hard to believe he could have lost millions and millions gambling but he did. When you have sold as many albums as Nelly has and get sued by American Express over $20K, then you have some serious financial issues. Yes, it might seem like a lot to you and to me, but that is like one personal appearance for Nelly. I don't understand why he does not get up off his butt and go out and perform shows for the next year and get his financial woes taken care of.

  1. I think for a lot of artists, it's unfortunately letting someone else take care of the financials, and accepting to blindly sign papers without checking out balance.

You'd think you have so much money that you'd NEVER get through it, but oh so wrong. Entourage, employees, taxes, and throwing money around without working in the past year is what empties your wallet.

Same for Chris Tucker. I may be a control freak, but I'll always check my balance with credit card statements and expenses. Whether I have $1000 or $10M in my account (oh, how I wish!).

  2. ITA Rita, and I think it's very hard for performers to think clearly while they're in the bubble of popularity.
Like Bieber, for example. I'm sure there are many, many of my fellow readers who remember when Leif Garrett was all the rage. Shawn Cassidy? Hell, even David Cassidy has to sing at conventions these days just to keep the lights on.

It's hard to think about all the money you'll need to live comfortably when you're no longer cute.

@Libby - How've you been! Missed your smelly armpits.

  5. Aw, thanks Rita. You are my current favorite commenter--and I didn't know you ever noticed me.

I have been reading the blog in the late afternoons for so long, it's hard to get outta the habit now that it's published so early. So I usually don't comment much these days because I know no one will see it.

Thanks for asking! You're very sweet!

  6. This is sad. Nelly was on top of the world just a few years ago. It's astounding that someone could go through so much money so fast, but it happens all the time.

Then you hear about some obscure C List celebrity from way back who is still rolling in the dough because they made some very wise investments while the money was coming in.

  7. @Libby, how nice of you, and thank you!

You'll be surprised how many, like me, read all posts 'till the end! Miss your witty comments chica!

  8. @Rita: Sometimes, I even backtrack a day or so to catch up on the REALLY late comments, as they're often well worth it.

  9. @Robert - You are absolutely right! The conversation gets at times heated and goes on for days after posting.

See @Libby, we read, we follow through!

  10. Thanks Rita! I guess I'll keep yammering away after all!

I always read all the comments before posting. I come to this site for the commentors.

Has anyone noticed that some have gone missing in recent weeks?

    ReplyDelete
  12. I, too, wait to read all the comments and actually go back some days to see if others have added more. Love this little community.

Maybe RQ is out of town? When is she due? Soon right?

    ReplyDelete
  13. Rita, maybe RQ had the baby?!? Or was it someone else who was preggo?

The main one I've noticed missing is jax. IF the blog is no longer written by enty, she's my main suspect.

  14. RQ is due in Feb. Around the same time I'll be having my old-ass b-day... And will be on suicide watch.

    Hope she's all right.

What about jax though? he's suspect #1 for Enty impersonator?

As I truly believe there's a new blogger, the upcoming reveals don't really mean much to me as I don't believe it's anyone in LA with inside info.

  16. Jax is female and lives in Vancouver. She met 'enty' (at his invitation) on a trip to L.A. a few years ago.

She's just MY #1 suspect, because she used to comment on every post, then mostly disappeared at the same time the blog changed. Now if she shows up it's towards the end of the comments, if she thinks people are being dumbasses or not getting the post.

All these facts could be coincidences. If I cared enough, I could look up jax' old blog and see if it's still in business. Maybe someone else will and let me know?

I'm wondering if RQ just got annoyed and up and left. Iris left. There were comments about people leaving on a post about a week ago (maybe?). I don't remember what the post was so I can't go back and check the rest of the conversation.

    ReplyDelete
  18. @Libby, I too go back and look at comments. @Robert, I also will go back when there is a debate happening for days (I found myself in the middle of one recently).

I think some commentators are reading for the time being, not posting. If you are reading, I really miss everybody and would love for you to start posting. Ignore the haters. I truly appreciate everyone's insight.

  19. i still think there is a problem with blogger. A few weeks ago nothing I was posting was sticking. It would just not be there if i refreshed. Now it seems to be working again. So if I had this problem, others must have also.

I miss RQ also, she is a hoot. Jax I think comes and goes.

I do hate the haters that come on with their bullshit postings and then go hide. F them F off!

Gee, does Nelly have stock in Apple Bottom jeans that he can sell? He just had a hit song on the radio. Maybe he can release another album and tour.

  21. I'm with @Timebob! F them F off the haters!

  22. I know a lot of you won't believe me, but as someone who knows people who know Enty in "real life,
and talk with him regularly, it is still the same person who has been writing since the beginning. Unless he says someone else is writing, every single post is his. Yes, his attitude, style, and choice of topics have changed over the years, but that happens to all of us.

Jax cut back on commenting because she got tired of the negativity. Rocket Queen is taking a break from the blog for the same reason. (She was tired of all the negativity in both the posts and in the comments.)

I've started reading and commenting later in the day because it seemed like the only way to keep from getting involved in childish arguments. I always said that all the bitching and moaning would affect the blog, and I guess I'll take this opportunity to say "I told you so."

I really haven't seen many childish arguments or bitching and moaning in the comments lately. The commentors in this blog used to be really bad, there used to be a lot of bullying but that nonsense has been gone for a long time. When there are disagreements, they're normally well-written and not too verbally abusive.

I'm going to say it, I really believe the blogger is different because the writing is beyond terrible. Enty was never a great wit or great writer but it wasn't too bad and the posts were varied. Now the posts are primarily reality stars with a ridiculous fixation on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and are just so badly written. The self-deprecating humour is tired and the rambling isn't in the least bit amusing. I often don't read the post but skip right to the comments to see what they've written.

I know the comments to this will be "stop visiting" but again, I like the commenters here.

I'm loving this thread! I have been reading and commenting on this blog for the past few years although my posting name used to be Miss(syn) or pdxbella. I haven't commented much in the past year because after starting my biz and working 12 hour days daily I would just read the comments in the evening but didn't post because I too didn't think anyone would read them. I have noticed a shift in the blog as well , but when I sent in a reader photo with me and a friend I explained in my email I was ' the one on the left ' . I got a quick response from enty saying ' I know which one is you after all these years ' or something to that affect as I had submited reader photos a few times before over the years. Honestly I was a little surprised! So IMO I'm pretty sure it's the same enty :) of course I've been known to be wrong .. Just ask my teenage daughter haha

But it's nice to know the comments are read and appreciated!

I've always been a big fan of the cdan community. You guys rule

  25. Just my two cents, (and I really hope Enty doesn't get mad at me for this) but ENTY helped me with a legal issue once. He is a lawyer. That's all I have to say.

    Miss you Mooshki!

  26. I really want Enty to be the same, because I'm somewhat sweet on him, and I hold out hope that one day he'll just decide to reveal all of his most scandalous blinds, but I do think the tone has changed over the years. There seem to be less stories involving Enty mingling with celebs personally and a lot more watching of reality TV. It's okay if you're a homebody, Enty. But you're never gonna meet Mrs. Enty #7 that way ;)

  27. Wowzas. I'm a day late and a dollar short on this post, but I loved reading all the insight yous guys have on the writer of this blog.

Didn't Nelly just have a hit song like last year - "It was Only Just a Dream"? I remember hearing that while prego.

Hope he gets the finances together.

  28. Alicia - I am so jealous that you have your own biz!! Wish I could do that.

There is an actual Enty, and he lets everyone know when there is a "fill-in" poster , which sometimes is Jax, who is totally rad. As are all my other buddies who have been with the blog from the beginning.

    And you rule as well!

  29. i have met "enty" a few years back and have exchanged emails (though not recently)-after all the BS about people talking about this topic i have finally said this-we had an awesome dinner!
i know the blog has "changed" but people and their interests do over time...heck i have has a business for 6 years and it has changed every year or so...even my own blog has changed over the years...i am not living in a box...things evolve and people have lives outside of this.
    my 2 cents...

  30. @Libby - you were right! Jax IS one of the blogger replacements for Enty. See @mngddess reply!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Yes Rita, but both she and Enty acknowledge that she will be guest blogging either for the day or for that specific post. I think Libby was indicating Jax slips in and out of the 'Enty role' sometimes.

    ReplyDelete
  32. and Mngddess- that radness is thrown right back atcha! :>

  33. Thank you, girltrav! I miss the "good old days" as well! :)

  34. I love all the comments here too, that's why I read. I'm tired of the reality stuff, especially the Kraptrashians. I don't think lots of people understand how really sick all that stuff is. With so many talented actors looking for honest work it just seems wrong to let all the gutter trash in. I guess maybe we should send in more stories we want to comment on. I've thought a few times that the blog had changed but as some have pointed out, people change. It just seems some times that Enty gave up bacon and started on cholesterol meds. No good can come from that!

  35. he's not paying it because he doesn't have it. If he did , he wouldn't of borrowed all of that money from Ashanti....whom he ALSO refused to pay back.

Sounds like the guys got a PROBLEM
