National Enquirer Blind Item

What handsome, 40-something A-lister was so afraid of being upstaged by a “Twilight” star’s teeny-bopper appeal and good looks that he made sure the actor didn’t land a co-starring role in his upcoming film? Moviegoers still consider the elder star sexy, but he’s so insecure that he didn’t want to take any chances – and the role went to an unknown!

  2. Oh Vicki, Tommy boy would swoon of getting the chance to hump on/work with one of them Twilight pretty boys. He would swoon!

  3. He might balk since Bella's poon is the focal point of the new one.

You know how terrified he is of the punany.

  4. I think Cruise may recall how suddenly two really eminent A-list stars chose to have him as their co-star -- Newman and Hoffman.

The reason? Cruise attracted more of an audience than they had come to then.

    Cruise needs that, too.

By the way... I hope (even pray) the great writer and director Brad Bird uses Cruise as well as he has come to use CGI in that Mission Largely Improbable flick.

  5. Is Bradley Cooper 40ish? i could see him throwing a hissy fit! Regardless of his preferences, nobody likes being upstaged :-D

  6. @nunaurbiz - nice guess. I like it.

  7. At first I dismissed Brad because he seems to have moved on to not caring so much, some recent roles have been so unsexy, and judging by the way he dresses he's not going for sex appeal. More of a family man.

I'm thinking of someone like Cooper, or a single guy in his 40s still playing off his sex appeal.

  8. @ms snarky - every time you comment I think of walking in the kitchen and making cookies. I've been on CDAN a lot lately and have baked cookies (not xmas cookies) three times in the past four/five weeks. My son would send you a thank-you note if he knew your photo was the inspiration.

Brad Pitt shouldn't be insecure. He's BRAD PITT. I'm too lazy to look up roles that Taylor Lautner didn't get, I think the answer could be found there.

  9. I was thinking Hugh Jackman

  10. IMO none of the Twilight dudes are truly all that sexy. I guess Facinelli is the sexiest, and he's the "old" one. Lutz, Lautner and Gigandet have hot bods but not such hot faces, no offense!

  11. EmEyeKay, she has to have my favorite photo of all time!

  12. I agree with msgirl. I don't think Brad Pitt is going for the sexy star thing anymore.

Tommy boy however, I could see this being him. Even if he thinks it'll give him a chance to play with the younger folk I think his ego would way override that. If he thinks for even a second he'd be upstaged, they'd be gone.

But my gut feeling is that this is someone more on the single sexy stud wave-length (like Bradley or Leo) where a Taylor Lautner type would be a direct threat against them in stealing their thunder.

  13. Yeah, but Brad Pitt is still a truly talented actor (I know, that's up for debate) and I'd think he is confident enough to not care about a co-star's looks as much as their acting chops. Pattinson is the best actor of the younger Twi-dudes. The rest are just so-so (albeit maybe still learning?)

Who knows, who cares? Just vanity abounding.

  14. Bradley Cooper has nothing to worry about, he's the sexiest man alive!

  15. Tom Cruise is very self absorbed. He cried like a baby during the making of Interview with a Vampire, because he thought Brad Pitt looked better than he did and he was the lead.

It can't be Brad Cooper. He's still in his 30's.

  16. going by EmEyeKay's logic...

Taylor Lautner "passed" on the expendables 2 and the role went to Liam Helmsworth. Not really a know name... but maybe its because I babysit so I know him as Miley's bf. Don't know much that he's been in other than her movie.

Actor in that movie in their 40s - Jason Statham, but A list? idk

He also turned down a role in Xmen so depending on how old the blind is, could qualify Hugh Jackman.

I decided to google 'Robert Pattinson Bradley Cooper' and came up with this:

    http://www.irishcentral.com/story/ent/amyandrews_gossipgirl/robert-pattinson-loses-uncle-role-to-bradley-cooper-132376683.html

Says Pattinson lost the role to Cooper. I'm not sold on that, because the role would have been too old/mature for R-Pattz. But I could see him being cast in the movie. Maybe Cooper said no?

  18. Ah yes, Ms. Snarky has sent me to the kitchen more than once!

  19. Bradly Cooper isn't 40 though. It can't be him. He's only 36 or 37. The actor is question in in his 40's. I'm going with Cruise/Lautner...since some blogs refer to Lautner as Tom Cruise Jr.

  20. How old is Will Smith?
    He darn handsome
    and quite vain I'd guess

  21. Hello, I'm a lurker but just couldn't resist this one.

    Mark Wahlberg
    Taylor Lautner
    Contraband

  22. Yeah, I really don't think Brad Pitt would give a shit, either.

    How about Ben Affleck? ;)

    ReplyDelete
  23. Not sure why, but I like Johnny Depp for this one. I think he would like us to think he doesn't care about stuff like this, but I think he does.

  24. I don't doubt for a second that this is Tom Cruise. He is so insecure and is still trying SO hard to hang on to his "hotness" or "sexiness" or whatever he thinks he has.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I love Pico De Gallo's guess, mainly because it comes with supporting evidence.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I doubt this is Brad, since the guy is turning 48 these days. This is more "almost 50" than "40 something"

    ReplyDelete
  27. Tom wouldn't like one of those Twilight boys....

He likes 'em BIG. Like body builder big.

  28. I loved the movie Interview with a Vampire, right before Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt became mega-stars. They seemed soooo young! Now that is a vampire movie, forget all this teeny bopper stuff aka Twilight.

I read all of the Vampire books by Anne Rice, now her stuff today... not so much.

  29. I just want to add that I think it's so funny any guy is insecure about a Twilight star, none of them are remotely sexy! Maybe Rob, but the others, UGH.

Says the old crone who doesn't give a shit about steroid-induced macho young studs.

  30. I like Pico De Gallo's guess also, but I don't think Mark Wahlberg is A-list.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I like Pico's guess, too, even though the thought of Mark Wahlberg being A List pains me. Maybe in name recognition, though??

    ReplyDelete
  32. Wahlberg produces A list shows as well as being an actor, so it could be him. But this blind sounds made up. More like you could write the same blind two years from now with whatever flavor of the month.

This is All About Eve with guys.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I think Wahlberg is a great guess. I'd call him A- list, so close enough, and he's all about his body, so I can see him being insecure about a younger guy.

What? That skank Wahlberg is A List ?!! God, I detest him. He seems so dirty to me, both inside and out. Yuck !
