Apparently Vanessa Bryant finally decided no amount of money or jewelry was worth the amount of cheating that Kobe Bryant does so she filed for divorce. Almost immediately, Kobe Bryant filed his own petition and released a statement saying the couple had settled all of the issues in their divorce. The reason this was done so quickly is because Kobe does not want any of this coming out. I could practically put up a plaque with his name on it in the blind item hall of fame. He could have his own wing. I could write about him everyday, but have chosen to highlight only his memorable escapades. I need to go back, but I do think he had a Christmas one which is fitting considering the time of year now and the time of year of his divorce.
Also, isnt there a law in Cali that after ten years you are entitled to either half of the assets or spousal support for the rest of your life? Any Cali lawyers out there?

ReplyDeleteafter 10 years you 1/2 their social security, lol. i'm not in the 1%, so that is what i know. was thinking when i head this, that she had to have seen or found out something pretty big to leave just before christmas. no one with kids wants to do a divorce this time of year. january is the biggest month for filing, because everyone waits until after christmas. i left my ex the day before thanksgiving because what i found out was SO beyond what i could imagine. and like this woman, i knew there were other women. so what did she find out, is what i would like to know.

Michael Jordan may have cheated on his wife, too, but he did so discreetly and was still a class act. Can't say the same for Kobe. Too much fame and adoration too young sort of ruined him.

ReplyDeleteOn the social security, if you are married to someone for ten years, you can choose to get benefits based on their earnings rather than your own. When I applied, it turned out my benefits would be higher than my ex's, which is really pitiful because I was a stay-at-home housewife for 17 years.
ReplyDeleteI worked for over 30 years as a legal secretary in California, and did lots of dissolution of marriage filings. After ten years, a marriage is considered "long-term," so I guarantee she was counting the days until she could file to end the marriage. She probably had a calendar, and every day put up a big, red "X" and the words, for instance, "2,500 of 3,650," so she knew how many days were left. I've hated Kobe since the rape allegations, so good for her.

ReplyDeleteBut good for them for sticking it out for so long. I remember when Kobe and Vanessa were first getting together and *no one* in Kobe's family wanted him to marry her but he was adamant and if I remember correctly, most of his family didn't go to the wedding.

He certainly wasn't worried about her leaving over the cheating now was he...It seems like this has been worked out- it just DIDN'T HAPPEN, it has been in the making because you don't just go I want a divorce and take 6 days to figure it ALL out- what they have to work out took MONTHS!

She did her time, and put up with WAY more than anyone ever should. She deserves every penny of the millions and millions of dollars that she is going to get. Suck it Kobe, you entitled dirtbag.

She was just a teenage video girl, shaking her ladybits for rappers when Kobe came along and caught the love bug. Vanessa's parents made sure they got married--upward mobility, boys and girls! Vanessa married into more money in 10 minutes than she could have made in 10 years as a video vixen.
Kobe's dad told him to get a prenup, but ol' dummy didn't listen. In a way, K & V deserved each other. He's a smug bastard and she's a straight-up hag.

They got married in April, 2001, so if she was "counting the minutes" until she filed, then this all started back in the Spring. Either that or something huge had to happen for her to finally say that she had had enough and file right before Christmas. Whatever, none of us are in this marriage, we can only post the things we've heard. I have no pity nor care for either of them, I just hope their two daughters turn out okay.

He should have gone to college and gotten a clue as to how to deal with life. He is thoroughly unpleasant - I hope their kids have some good adult influences in their lives. I hope she finds a decent man who loves her. No woman deserves to be cheated on and humiliated like that, no matter how much of a bitch she is.
