Harry Morgan Has Died
Harry Morgan, the prolific character actor best known for playing the acerbic but kindly Colonel Potter in the long-running television series “M*A*S*H,” died on Wednesday morning at his home in Los Angeles. He was 96. I also loved him in Dragnet because he played a totally different character than Colonel Potter.
R.I.P. Colonel Potter. :'(
ReplyDeleteI have to admit I didn't realize that he was still with us up until Wednesday. I did love him as Colonel Potter.
ReplyDeleteRIP Harry. Thanks for the laughs! He was great!!

ReplyDeleteRIP Harry Morgan.
ReplyDeleteI LOVED him on Dragnet. He made me laugh, and his chemistry with Sgt. Joe Friday. Sad face.
ReplyDeleteHe was wonderful..RIP
ReplyDeleteThis is one of those deaths about which we can actually just feel happy for him...96 is a fantastic run of it! :-) And along the way he made a lot of people happy. I still find MASH to be very soothing. RIP, Harry!
ReplyDeleteHe died on Pearl Harbor Day, too--fitting for Colonel Potter.
ReplyDeleteBesides, anybody who can play straight man to Jack Webb has my respect!
RIP Harry.
ReplyDeleteI too find MASH very soothing (probably bc it was constantly on TV for most of my childhood in syndication) and also that Hawkeye is still one of the best characters ever on TV.
Couldn't agree more @Figgy. Wow, how wonderful to make it all the way to 96.
ReplyDeleteI still love to watch MASH reruns too.
I love love love MASH. If only they would get on Netflix....
ReplyDeleteI'm of two minds on him - he was arrested back in 1996 for wife beating while intoxicated - his wife didn't want to press charges but the cops did. I don't know how it played out in court, but I haven't really cared for him since then.

This makes me sad, I liked him. MASH was great. Linnea, I agree. Let's email them, I bet we wouldn't be the only ones.
ReplyDeleteM*A*S*H* is on netflix; I have several on my sync
ReplyDeleteWHAT? *weekend is gone*
ReplyDeleteGodspeed Sherm!
ReplyDeleteHad to go look - no MASH on my netflix (I stream)
