Aspen District Attorney Says There Is No Deal For Brooke Mueller

When Charlie Sheen threatened to kill Brooke Mueller back on Christmas morning a few years ago, the Aspen District Attorney made a mockery of justice. Basically Charlie Sheen told the District Attorney what Charlie wanted and Charlie got it all. This time, when dealing with drug possession and assault, the District Attorney is acting all tough. He said there is no deal in place and that Brooke or her attorney must appear in court on Monday to enter a plea. When Brooke found out there was going to be no deal prior to Monday she decided to try a different tack when it comes to her rehab. She actually checked herself into one. By my count, this makes the 8th rehab clinic or stay at home rehab Brooke has entered in the past two years. I think she is trying to trade rehab for jail, just like Charlie Sheen.

  1. Charlie Sheen is part of the big boys' club, and the big boys' club ALWAYS makes sure that Charlie gets away with it: violence, drugs, and more violence against women.

So no matter the way you look at it, Charlie wins.

For this though, it may be the best thing that could happen to Brooke: going and staying away from Charlie for a forced long period of time. Clearly, it would also be best for her kids as well. No need for them to suffer through their mother's uninterest in their well-being.

Don't most of the celebrities trade rehab for jail? No matter what they do wrong, they can check into an expensive rehab and their crimes are forgiven.

I agree she needs the rehab. I worry about the kids though. Surely Charlie doesn't have them?

  3. she is totally using rehab as an excuse to not go to jail...she has been to rehab what, 5 times already? This woman loves her drugs more than her kids.

Part of the deal is that the DA's office gets to say there is no deal.

  6. Well, I like to think of it thusly .. she is being treated like the rest of us "normals" would be treated in the same instance. She is no star, so no deal is required by the PTB. Now if the PTB could also find away back to treating "stars" like "normals," perhaps our judicial system would cease to be a laughing stock? [shoots side eye at Lohan]

  7. Well, I'm still of the mind (based on studies) that rehab is a better place for junkies than jail. In jail, they detox and then go right back to abusing unless they are self-motivated enough to change. At least in rehab, though relapse is frequent, there's a possibility of actual sobriety.
