Amanda Knox Is Ready To Sell Her Story For Big Bucks
After spending the past two months just becoming accustomed to being free, Amanda Knox is finally ready to capitalize on her story. She has hired an attorney to represent her for book deals and film deals and whatever other deals she can find to make her a buck. I understand where she is coming from because you have to earn some money to support yourself and it would be difficult for her to go work at some company right now, but I think in a few years she could easily do that. If she changed her name would it really be that hard for her to blend in after a year or two? Are people going to remember what she looks like when paps are not snapping her photo every week. The lawyer Amanda hired is a really big deal. He is the lawyer that handles every President when they leave office and get their book deals. I doubt he would have agreed to help unless he felt like Amanda was going to get fees in the $5M range.
She probably owes big bucks for the lawyers etc.
ReplyDeleteAfter what she has been through, I'd like to see her become an advocate for victims rights or do something that uses her unique experience. I can't picture her with a 9 to 5 job.
ReplyDeletegood for her. her entire family (uncles, cousins, mother and father) took out loans to pay her attorney fees. she needs to make big bucks to help pay them all back.
ReplyDeleteIs she going to find the 'real killers' now?
ReplyDeleteI think she'll be recognized for a long, long time.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great deal for her - I'm sure the family needs money, and I for one would read the book. Her ex-boyfriend also got a book deal, I'm not so interested in that one.
In this case, this is actually an interesting story. I'd read it.
ReplyDeleteThe question remains: who DID kill that girl? :-(
they did find and convict the "real killer" Rudy Guede in 2008.

I don't think Amanda or her boyfriend were involved. It was a robbery/sexual assault and he murdered her. This is no OJ case.
I thinks it's great for her as long as she really wasn't involved at all of course. I need to do some more reading of the case. I just know the bare facts.
ReplyDeleteAnother book I wouldn't buy - the story is all over news sites. I don't think she'll have much new stuff to add. And I have to say, I wouldn't recognize her if she knocked on my door.
ReplyDeleteYeah, she does need to make money to repay her family somehow. I am not the least bit surprised, and would probably read the book, even though I wouldnt buy it
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't buy it but I might check it out from the library. I don't think she wants to get another 15 minutes in the spotlight. She most likely wants to be able to pay back her family so they aren't in debt the rest of their lives.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I'm not interested her side of the story alone. I'm not sure to what extent she was involved, but I don't think she's as completely innocent as she's claimed.
ReplyDeleteGood for her!
ReplyDeleteRQ - agree.
ReplyDeleteIf she makes any money off her story I hope she gives a big chunk of it to her family. THey are the ones who deserve it.
ReplyDeleteWonder if she plans on explaining why she railroaded the black (African) guy, who had to spend three weeks in jail before the Italians realized it was a total lie. Blaming the black guy does not work as well in Europe as it does here. She may not have murdered that girl, but she is no hero to me.
ReplyDeleteMichael, spend the time educating herself on the tactcs the italian police used on her and you will undertand her actions.
ReplyDeleteFoe Amanda, she needs to make at least $5 million gross to make enough net after taxes and agent's fees just to cover the money her family paid to cover the trial expenses.
Handled well she might walk away with some money in pocket, but there is no price that can recompense for the lost years and stress.
I hope it makes the best seller list and sells millions and millions of copies.
ReplyDeleteThis will sell, and there'll be a movie on top of it.
ReplyDeleteI'm amazed at how many people vehemently defend her because they believe that she is a pure innocent victim.
ReplyDeleteI agree w/Michael. she did throw the African guy under the bus and has never apologized for ruining his life.
but, most people who believe she is innocent get their education in criminal law from CSI and Law & Order.
Upside Downunder, you might want to do some reading on sociopaths and just be grateful that you weren't her roommate.
Actually, she did apologize to him several times, in court.
ReplyDeleteRQ - Agree.
ReplyDeleteI'd probably read her book, just to see her take on it. I wondered if she'd finish school? Or just get a job.
Read what happened in the interrogation room. Knox didn't bring up her boss, the cops did. After 13 or 14 hours of no food, water, or an english translator. They smacked her on the back of the head and she denied several times her boss wasn't there. She ended up signing something she didn't realize was a confession. The courts ruled the interrogation a violation of her rights.
ReplyDeleteI think there is a difference between vehemently defending as bringing up the facts. I'm also surprise at how many people insist she is guilty but can't name one piece of evidence. They just know she is an add girl.
Oh my god, the "let's discuss evidence in detail" meme was part of what made the Knox discussion boards so ugly and pointless. I remember dozens of intense and insane attackers and defenders of Knox going over and over and over the details. She didn't do cartwheels! Yes she did! No she didn't! They were yoga-based handstands that may or may not have eventually led to the feet touching the floor!
ReplyDeleteShe didn't lie! She didn't blame anyone else! Okay, she did, but she was forced! It was fabricated! She was the victim of her own false accusation! Okay, she wasn't!
I don't want to read this nonsense any more. She was acquitted. She acted weird before, during and after the murder. She probably is innocent. But the defenders and attackers need new material. Sheez.
I think I really got tired of the Knox defenders when one yelled at me on HuffingtonPost: "She was commanded to do cartwheels by the police! She had to do it! If she hadn't, it would have proven her guilt!" and I just walked away going, wow. Wow.
ReplyDeleteLol Barton. I can't stop laughing at the cartwheel comment.
ReplyDeleteI do think her behavior was pretty odd, and a weird kind of odd but I think that shouldn't outweigh the evidence or lack of. I've also never belonged to any Amanda Know message boards and go around harassing either side.
I agree 100% with RQ & Barton. She might have been practically tortured by the italian police, but does that really mean she's completely innocent like she claims?? Truth is nobody really knows what exactly happ that night except for the people that were there. We hear different sides of the story from them so therefore nothing will ever be clear & we will never know the whole truth...
