Travis Barker Gets Special Attention From The Police

Next time you get pulled over by the police and do not think you were treated fairly, go ahead and take to your Twitter and see how long it takes before the police respond to your complaints and invite you over to discuss it with the officers involved over coffee and doughnuts. Yeah, it is going to be a really long wait. However, if you are Travis Barker or some other celebrity who has a large number of followers on Twitter you can presumably complain and have the police department kissing your butt and inviting you down to the station to discuss everything and make it all better.

Over the weekend Travis Barker was pulled over for having no license plate on his car and tinted windows. Last I checked you were for sure supposed to have license plates. Travis is above that though. So, the officer takes a look at the guy in the car and asks some questions and apparently they were questions Travis did not want to answer and said it went on so long his kids got scared. Are these the same kids that you bad mouth your ex to? The same kids who are going to read on Google all the awful things the two of you have said to each other? Just checking. I did not realize they were so sensitive now but then they were not.

So, Travis gets home and Tweets about it and the next thing you know the police department is all over themselves with concern and inviting Travis down to the station to chat and see how they can make things better and to have a discussion with the officers involved. For some reason this really ticks me off. He got pulled over because he had no plates. Nothing happened to him. He was not tased or even asked to step out of the car. But he complains and the police get on their knees so fast to please him because he is a celebrity.

  1. sorry to say, White privelage mixed with celebrity reality.

  2. @kltx -- and just how does race enter into it? I just think he's a prick, period

  3. because if he were black a missing license plate would have meant everything in that car would have been removed and checked. the fact that he was only questioned is proof of that.

  4. This is Grade A Bull Scheisse. He complained because he got caught breaking the law and someone asked him a question. What an a*hole.

  5. Travis, quit acting like a douchebag. You were WRONG. Fucking own it.

  6. I had to laugh at that first comment, because my husband, who is a white man with many tattoos, once asked his boss "is it because I'm coloured?" when asked to perform some task he didn't really want to do. It was just a joke (a tad tasteless perhaps, but that' s Mr With a J for you) but the boss didn't really know how to respond to that.

I'm sure Barker is going to turn this into a "don't judge a book by its cover" thing, and insist he was treated that way because of the way he looks. If any of us was driving without plates, we'd not only get pulled over, we'd be slapped with a hefty fine, tattooed or not.

  7. For someone covered head to toe in tattoos that aren't that great, he isn't very hardcore. Kind of a pansy actually.

    And kltx, I agree.

  8. ...and I agree that it probably would be even worse for a black man doing the same thing.

  9. What the hell does his chest say? "Can I Saw"? "Can I Say"? If you're going to have a tat that says something, at least make it legible.

  10. @kltx, completely agree. Unfortunately, profiling and privelage still play a huge role in law enforcement. Been there. I had to fight with a cop while I was in labor and my husband went 10 miles above the speed limit. We were in the flow of traffic on the expressway but he got pulled over, the cop was blessed from here to London and let me go to the hospital.

  11. How come the cops didn't invite Nick Cannon down to the station for a little meeting of the minds when he Tweeted about getting pulled over umpteen times for NOTHING? Whatthefuckever.

  12. what is with it with this guy....he is a nobody.
he was a meh drummer in a shitty band-who cares!

  13. Blink 182 is a shitty band. It's not anything resembling punk. The cop should ahve yanked him from the car and beat the sht out of him just for the lousy ink he sports. He looks like the JC Whitney catalog threw up on him.

    lol @ Poppyman

I've been pulled over twice and both times, it took forever. Or at least it feels like forever because you are just sitting there while they run your information and all the passersby assume you're drunk. Which I wasn't (illegal left turn and as for the other, the cop was trying to teach me a lesson to compensate for his shitty driving). Neither time did I cry about it on twitter. But I'm not a narcissist.

  16. This guy is douchetastic. And the po po are even worse. Kissing this asshat's rearend? Say what?!?! They should have fined him for a couple grand and used the money for the city coiffers. WTF?

Enty, all due respect, but can we have some gossip about people I actualy give a flying fig about today? Talk about the Z list. Ha.

    He's kidding, right?

A few years ago my mom was driving me to the emrgency room for an anxiety attack. A cop pulled her over for speeding.

My mom explained the situation-she was nervous and not paying attention to the speed and I was visually hyperventilating, etc.

The cop gave us a ticket. AND took his sweet time writing it.

And Travis Barker has the nerve to complain?! WTF?!

  18. Are the bad tattoos put there to compensate for the total lack of any manly hair?

  19. I gotta say, I've had shitty service/problems and have put two companies on blast on Twitter when it happened and been totally satisfied afterward. Twitter WORKS, people. Companies HATE the bad publicity.
But yeah in this case, the cops should have told him to stuff it and get plates.

Oh this crap has been going on in Hollywood for years. I'm sure the studios still offer kickbacks to the police. This is why Lindsay Lohan will walk every single time she is arrested.

  21. @kltx-COMPLETELY AGREE.

Blink was a really shitty band, but Barker is a decent drummer. I really like his previous band, The Aquabats.

  22. I think he's being a whiny-ass, but, on the other hand, I've had first-hand experience with the kinds of cops who are a bit too enthusiastic about finding themselves a criminal.
A cop arrested my husband and landed him in jail for two days on for what the judge termed an "un-incarcerable" offense. The cop still, to this day, claims he was "just doing his job". It's a typical story.

  23. The worst thing is some cops are awesome nd some just suck but the sucky cops are all we hear about.

I was pulled over one new years eve morning about 8 am with a Car full of crap, two dogs, my husband and we both probably looked like death (totally sob but hd been sleeping on a cabin floor). I saw him turn around and looked at my husband and asked him what the speed limit was and he shrugged. The cop pulled us over, came over and asked me what the speed limit is. I had no idea and told him so. I hd been to the area maybe once and was on my way home after a nye weekend. He looked at me, asked a few innocuous questions which i answered then laughed, and told me the speed limit is 25 until you hit XYZ then it is 35. Happy new year!

I have been pulled over twice the second time i was going so fast the cop dropped down the number so i would not lose my license (long story but super nice guy) and then explained traffic school. I guess i just get lucky or when i get pulled over i am honest and accept my licks, ya know?

I speed so much i figure that getting caught once in all these years is just fine :).

On the other hand, those in authority who truly abuse it are the lowest of the low.

  25. Kltx- AGREED!!

It's always enjoyable to watch as the white males who have money and are amongst the top of the hierarchy in our society complain about things like this.
    EYE ROLL~

He's a prick. So glad he did us the favor of covering himself up in hilariously shitty tattoos so we can spot him from a distance.

  26. @Leslie A - What a DICK! Ugh!

I'm more interested (not really) about Enty's insinuations that he bad mouths his kids to his ex. I really don't care enough about this guy to Google it. He sounds like a whiner to me!
