Taylor Swift Needs Paper

Well, I know what I am getting Taylor Swift for Christmas. Bacon scented paper. I don't think they actually make such a thing, but pretty much everything in my place smells like bacon. Whether it is the bacon cologne, the constant cooking of bacon or the bacon air freshener I discovered and covet, pretty much everything has that lovely smell.

Anyway, last night Taylor Swift won Entertainer Of The Year at the Country Music Awards. It is a great honor and at her age it really leaves her nothing to try to achieve for the rest of her life so I think she should retire now. Oh, well I guess she probably does want to keep writing and singing and getting whisked away on private jets by guys who want her. Not a bad gig if you can get it.

One thing Taylor has yet to learn though is about this thing you and I like to call paper. It is a fascinating device which can hold your words and thoughts and be there later if you want to read it or edit it or sell it to a tabloid. Apparently Taylor though prefers writing her thank yous on her arm. What happens if you start sweating? Someone spills a drink on you as you are headed to the stage? Thrown in a swimming pool? OK, highly unlikely that is going to happen during a show, and paper would get ruined too. Oh, unless you laminate. But then of course you have to decide what kind of machine and are you going to fold your paper or do the whole sheet? If you only do a portion of it are you going to punch a hole in it and string a lanyard through it? Maybe the arm writing thing is the way to go.

  1. it's her MEMENTO moment:usually you write a phone mumber or a name,not a book

  2. Good for her for doing young, goofy girl things. One day she'll be too pretentious to carry her own purse, let alone write a sonnet on her arm while wearing a white dress.

  3. Enty's digressions and ramblings are hilarious lately! LOL

  4. Maybe she didn't consider she could have been a winner until the last minute. Also I would guess she won the award due to record sales because, while folks love her...I'm not getting it. She does seem sweet however.

  7. lol Ms Cool!

I think it's kind of charming that she didn't have some officially typed up list, and yeah, it was probably last minute.

    Pookie? ;)

  8. Not sure where I saw it but yesterday I saw band-aids that look like bacon. Didn't say if they were scratch & sniff.

She probably thought there was no in Hades she would win and started to panic when she realized it was a possibility. She gets a pass.

  12. I love Taylor Swift. My 6-year-old looks just like her with the wild, blonde, curly hair. In fact, she went as Taylor Swift for Halloween. :-)

Anyway, I know some people think she's a bit too much or an act, but I believe she's really as sweet & girly & innocent as she appears. She's also accomplished a lot for such a young girl and she is really very talented. How many other young recording artists write, sing & perform instruments on their own songs?

  14. I can just imagine if me or my sisters did something like this, my mom would throw a fit. Kind of like chewing gum, slouching or fiddling with your hair while in front of people.

  15. I'm waiting for someone to go up and accept an award with their thank you note on their iPhone. This is going to happen in my lifetime.

  16. What chopchop said, minus the daughter part. :)

I think she writes song lyrics on her arms, too. I think it's just her thing.

  17. I just have to add one thing: she is AWFUL in those Cover Girl commercials. I like Swifty (but not her music), but she simply canNOT pull off sassy and sexy. She looks like a 12 year old trying to be an adult in those commercials and it just makes me uncomfortable to watch her be so awkwardly someone she's not in them.

  18. RQ...eep, just saw this...(between the CMAs last night and Latin Grammys tonight i'm in insane mode)...re: TS, she, thru-out the entire 'speak now' tour, has written a lyric on her arm at every show...99.9% of the time it's been a lyric from an artist whose hometown she's in for that given date...ie: when in detroit, she had an eminen lyric written on her arm...when in atlanta, one of usher's, etc)...last night's arm notes were just a continuation of that habit. it's very cute and sweet, actually..plays into her incredible work ethic and grace.

  19. My takeaway from this is, I would need a private jet.

  20. I'm more interested in the comment about being whisked away in private jets by men that want her... I've never heard anything about this... Anyone else???

  21. I know FirebugDVM I was wondering for someone to notice the whisked away on jet part too!

    Possible hidden blind reveal??

  22. @FirebugDVN and @SKT

He was just referring to when Taylor and Jake Gyllenhall "dated". Jake sent a private jet to get her and bring her to him in Europe, where I think he was filming. Paris, maybe? I can't remember what country.
