Skinnygirl Margarita Uses Cheap Tequila - Not Blue Agave

The same people that sued Skinnygirl Margarita for saying their product was all natural have amended their lawsuit after an analysis of the product discovered that contrary to what the label of the bottle says, the tequila used in the product is a cheap kind of tequila and not 100% blue agave as claimed on the label. You would think before the company bought it from Bethenny Frankel they would have done some due diligence, but apparently not. It does make you wonder what other labels out there lie to us everyday. It is not like we can check to make sure that everything is what it says it is. Unless someone complains I don't think the government checks, so we are all just kind of taking the word of the company. Apparently with Skinnygirl that was a bad idea.

  1. Anything coming from a chick who has great big fake boobs should be suspect for being what it says it is.

  2. Bandage dress, check.
    Cheap booze, check.
    Lies, check.
Undeserved wealth and/or sense of entitlement, check.

I believe all of the criteria for a reality star are indeed here. The fact that I'm not 100% sure who or what show this lady came from is arbitrary I guess, I really just commented to bitch about the dress, I'm soooooo over it.

The fact that food labels lie is nothing new. Have you not seen "Food, Inc"? :)

  6. maja said it. food labels have always lied to us. why is this chick under more scrutiny than anyone else. someone out there is trying real hard to drag her, specifically her, down. if you don't like her, don't buy her stuff.

i don't have an opinion about her as a person, but i do like her skinny sangria. it tastes good and that's all i need to know. it passed FDA regulations so it won't kill me

besides, i don't get it. the bottle says its 100% blue agave tequila. that's not a brand. many companies/brands sell blue agave tequila. at all different prices. there's cheap agave tequila too. watered down, diluted, etc. just let it go. ppl are still gonna buy it.

  7. I was mortified when I found out this woman and I have the exact same birthday. Month, day and year.

    *shudders*

  8. I'm sure many of those labels are lying and the tequila is not 100% blue agave. That's why I am now available for tequila tasting. My taste buds have been nurtured with only the finest tequila for decades. I will distinguish for you upon request a reposado from anejo or extra anejo. And if it is a mixto, well, you will be quickly informed as I spit tequila onto the floor. I am here for you CDAN readers. I am here to help!

  9. I was just about to ask why there aren't drinkers out there who haven't noticed the difference before now and said something, but obviously there ARE connoisseurs out there like __-__=__, but she's apparently way too smart to have tried nonsense like this in the first place. Good for you, sweetie, both for having taste, and for, uh, having taste! Oh, wait! Having a palate!

  14. when i was in college, we analyzed popular foods in chemistry to assess whether the caloric and nutrition information on the labels were correct. in the majority of cases, the information was wrong - wrong - wrong. this is normal practice. sad but true.

With all of the money this bitch has, you'd think she could afford better boobs. They look horrid.

  16. OMG! If you want to be truly horrifed, read the book, "Trust Us, We're Experts". It's a whole book about how doctors will vouch for companies just for money. Scary and sad all at once. And _:_ (that one is really hard!) I applaud your selflessness..You are a saint..LOL!

  17. I can remember the day when I had to hide silently when Bethenny showed up on this site. Everyone loved her, loved loved loved loved loved her. I kinda liked her, but got sick of her after watching one episode of the spin-off she did (where some whiney guy impregnated her or whatever that was all about). Now, I almost feel like I should defend her from y'all! But, no. Rip her to shreds.

  18. LOL @Barton Fink! No way, I think most people on here hate her, including Enty.

I have tried the bottled SkinnyGirl Margarita & didn't like it. It's WAY too sour. Haven't tried the bottled sangria, but I'm telling you, her summer sangria recipe is fabulous.

I've read so many books, articles & watched documentaries on this topic. My conclusion is that the FDA & the government really don't give a shit. Skinnygirl Margarita isn't a blip on their radar. ;)

And god forbid we pay taxes to have government agencies that will make sure our food is safe. I'm sure the "free market" will be happy to take care of that. Instead of taking reasonable precautions, lets just wait until we get poisoned, and sue. Gotta keep the lawyers rich.
