Pippa Middleton Getting $1.5M For Party Planning Book

Apparently being the sister-in-law of the future King Of England can pay off for you. Despite working in public relations, Pippa Middleton has been offered $1.5M from a book publisher to write a party planning book. Yes, her parents run a party supply company, but I am not sure how that makes Pippa qualified to write a party planning book. It seems like the book would be pretty small too.

Step 1 - Decide on a party
"Hey, you want to have a party?"
"Sure."

Step 2 - Decide when to have the party
"This weekend?"
"Sounds good."

Step 3 - Decide on your theme
"Should we get some food?"
"Yeah, I will get some stuff from Taco Bell value menu."

Step 4 - Decide on food
See above.

Step 5 - Send out invitations
"I just sent a mass text."
"Me too."

That really does seem worth $1.5M doesn't it.

  1. Now I am truly starting to doubt that you are an entertainment lawyer. I've worked in PR and event/party planning is a major part of that job unless you specialize in crisis management or media relations. Sure, if you are high enough up the ladder you can outsource that stuff but you still have to know the ins and outs of party planning to make sure it's a success. Sheesh.

  2. Pippa writes the blog for her parents company so she may know quite a bit.

  3. @Michael -- I don't think he's a lawyer, either. For one thing, his posts are crammed with typos and errors. Aren't people in the legal profession supposed to be pretty verbal by nature?

Still, I DO think he's in the industry somehow. Calling himself a lawyer is a pretty smart way to deter people from discovering his true identity or profession. Can't say I blame you, Enty! And I don't give a shit who you are or what you do. In fact, I'll bet you're a svelte vegetarian who's never actually been married and lives in a penthouse instead of your mom's basement. You sly thing, you.

But keep on truckin', regardless. The weekend posts are rad, too. Thanks!

Oh, and as for Pippa -- ride that nepotism train and get that paper while you can, dear.

  4. @Ida: Oh, I don't particularly care if Enty is a real lawyer or not. I was just saying that making such a comment really tips his/her hand (especially if s/he works in entertainment). I've been a loooong time lurker and love the site (and your posts actually). I wished that the forum that started when the blog first began had taken off.

  5. @Michael -- Ooooh! What forum? I remember the anti-Enty blog called Crazy Lies and Nights (and I also think that our dear, obsessive Tatyana is actually "Anna", for the record).

I think it's funny when real lawyers call him out. They're so indignant and eager to share their expertise. ;-)

Also, stop lurking and begin posting more, please. :-)

I'm with you, Ida. I don't think Enty is an attorney. I worked for attorneys for more than a decade. He doesn't write/sound like one. But, I don't care. I like reading his blog. Plus, I think he's a gay man.

  7. @Ida: Oh girl, I ran across that mess last year. Talk about bitter. No, I was talking about a forum that was started for the site when it first started. I think it was started by a poster who then wanted money for it (and a meet up she organized) and quit posting. There used to be a link for it on the site. Few people posted though so I think it died a quick death. Would have been nice if it got popular like Fametracker though. Man I miss that site!

  8. I don't care if Enty is a lawyer either, but if this is his idea of planning a party I know for sure he is a man, and def not a gay man.

  9. You know, nothing against Pippa but I'm kind of tired of her now. Through no fault of her own. It's just the media won't stop with her.

  10. @Mama Mia -- Oh, I can see him as a gay man! Maybe he's actually Nathan Lane or something? I want Enty to be Elton John IRL, actually.

And I STILL think that he's paid by Kris Jenner to write about the Kardashians at least six times per day.

@Michael -- Oh, YEAH. I do kinda remember that. Wasn't it started by that Hez lady? I think she's friends with Lainey, if I'm not mistaken. Or, she *wishes* she were friends with Lainey.

Oh, these tangled, interwoven, webs o' gossip...

  12. Yeah, I remember reading about that whole thing with the meet up etc but it was way before my time. And yet I feel really old on this forum sometimes. :P

    1. Pippa needs to tastefully get all the cash she can without making Kate or the Royals look bad. 2. Marry very well, needs to be titled and have some serious cash. : )

  15. I used to be annoyed by Enty's typos until he wrote that entry here explaining how he does the blog on a separate laptop that he drags to work. Also, I have a friend who is a lawyer and I used to argue with him about his typos. His argument was that he didn't care to proofread informal emails (to me and other friends) and that his legal work was actually perfect, and doublechecked by his paralegal, so there.

As for this entry, every once in a while Enty does a lazy, snarky entry. I think this is one of those. He saw the headline and wanted to mention it, but didn't want to do too much research, so he just made a funny entry instead.

  16. "and I also think that our dear, obsessive Tatyana is actually "Anna", for the record)"

    Now that you mention it...

I do remember the forum! I think I even posted once or twice *L* You know, there are free forums you can set up online, we could always start one ourselves so we can all communicate with each other outside of the posts. Maybe.

  17. Is the forum thing like the message board link Enty has under "Links"? That link is broken by the way.

I think her family owns a party supply & PARTY PLANNING company. She's worked there for years, so why shouldn't she write a book? Perhaps she did get the opportunity b/c of her royal connection, but how many times has a person gotten a break b/c of another family member? That's right. All the time.
