Lindsey Vonn Wants You To Know She Is Getting Divorced
It is one thing to have your publicist confirm a divorce filing when someone from the press finds out. Then, you can give the standard, respect my privacy line even though most of the time no celebrity really means it. They just like to say it because it makes them look cool and they want their publicists to do something that makes them look cool considering how much they are spending every month for the publicist. The whole respect the privacy thing though does not work as well when you are the one making the announcement to the media and not just confirming it. Apparently no one bothered to notice that Olympic gold medalist and general pain in the butt Lindsey Vonn was filing for divorce. So, she did what anyone addicted to fame would do. She called up a newspaper and announced she was divorcing her husband of four years who just so happens to also be her coach.
This statement did not come from any publicist and it did not come as confirmation from an inquiry, it just came from Lindsey. "It is with great sadness that I announce that Thomas and I have begun divorce proceedings. This is an extremely difficult time in my personal life and I hope the media and my fans can respect my need for privacy on this matter. I will continue to be coached by the U.S. Ski Team and look forward to competing the rest of the season."
It constantly amazes me that they say something like respect my need for privacy when they are the ones who intentionally chose to make it not private. No one would have even noticed because no one really cares.
Enty, by posting this you're not doing a very good job of "respecting her privacy" waahahaha
ReplyDeleteWho? What?
ReplyDeleteGreat. Didn't know Vonn was even married. Now I can go back to not giving a rat's ass about her.
ReplyDeleteWho ? Never heard of her.
ReplyDeleteShe should have waited two years. People only give a crap about skiers every four years
ReplyDeleteShe looks just like Charlie Sheen's ex, whatshername. Not Denise the other one.
ReplyDeleteYou're right, she is a ringer for brook. Now if only she were divorcing to become a Sheen goddess, we would have a helluva story on our hands!
ReplyDeleteI'd love for the media to collectively respond, "no problem!"
ReplyDeleteNoted, Lindsay.
ReplyDeleteDo ya'll hear crickets?
ReplyDeleteI know who she is because I love to ski and enjoy watching the pros. She used to be pleasant and someone I would be happy for, but pre-Olympics, she turned into a fame whore of the worst sort. I'm sorry her marriage is shot, but it is also sickening to see that her massive ego has gotten even more appalling in the last two years. Here's hoping her husband gets a healthy settlement out of this divorce.
ReplyDeleteI love that she added the US Ski Team to the statement because she knew deep down she had to make sure people remembered who the hell she was!
ReplyDeleteI think she looks like Malin Akerman.
ReplyDeleteWhy didn't she just announce it on her Facebook page or blog? At least people reading that would be there because they were interested.
