I can't with this movie. I liked the books, but every picture I have seen of Jennifer Lawrence, she looks CLEAN and has maybe a scrape or two. This is supposed to be about a fight to the death, she is NOT SUPPOSED TO LOOK GOOD.
She looks clean AND healthy. And the boys look too teeny-bopper like.
Jennifer Lawrence is beginning to convince me in this trailer, though. I still don't like the boys. At least it looks like the movie will be very true to the books - critical for this to succeed. Was the red dress her fire dress? If so, I'm disappointed - I expected something much more flame-boyant.
@bnl - I was on the fence about the books for a long time. I finally broke down and read it. And then read the rest of the series in 3 days. It was THAT good.
Totally agree with Paris. I got the books after Enty did the post about making them into movies. It is not a children's book and you will REALLY love the first one, second one great, the third is good-but you have to read it to finish the story!
I devoured the books. I look forward to the movie, too, but Jennifer Lawrence does look too clean and healthy! The flame dress doesn't seem spectacular, either. Will wait and see!
Paris, haha just change it to Kardasian. And yes, the books were very good and I'm a "litrature" former English major, a bit snobbish in fact! They had some problems, but couldn't put them down!
I never see movies from books I've read, but this looks good! Jennifer has now sold me. Not sure about the others yet except I'm sure Donald will be great altho Effi isn't quite "exuberant" enough.
I hate the comparisons people make on this to Twilight, but I really think, movie wise, it's going to be MUCH better. And I'm feeling better about Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss with each new "sneak peek" of the movie. I think the people involved with this franchise are better, the budget was bigger, the author was heavily involved. I have high hopes and my fingers are crossed.
Looks good. I just hate waiting lol.

ReplyDeleteWill not see this crapfest.
Should I read this book? I've been on the fence. I'm not usually a huge reader but everyone says how good it is I feel like I'm missing something.

ReplyDeleteThis looks good to me. Twilight never appealed.
ReplyDeleteI dunno. . .Woody Harrelson's hair looks like colonel Sanders.
ReplyDeleteThis is the only thing my 16 year old and I have in common (he thinks, anyway)--we both want to see this movie.
So am I Enty..really good books.
ReplyDeleteI watched this last night and it looks awesome to me.
ReplyDeleteI highly recommend the books too!

I agree with everyone, it needs to be grittier.
ReplyDeleteThose are my mountains in the trailer!
