Hugh Grant A Father - Left The Mother When She Said She Was Pregnant

Hugh Grant has been a father for a little over a month now. Apparently the mother of his child, Tinglan Hong, gave birth back in September. Hugh was not present for the birth, but did see the child for about 30 minutes the following day on his way to a golf tournament. Tinglan is 32 and Hugh is 51. The pair started dating in January and it ended right after Tinglan told Hugh she was pregnant (right about when the photo was taken). Well, he has always been a guy who does not like commitment. Hugh though wants everyone to know that he is thrilled to be a father and will probably see the child sometimes. People break up all the time, but it always seems kind of shady to me when the guy leaves the woman right after she gets pregnant. Oh, and you know this one month delay in announcing all of this is because Hugh wanted a paternity test which means he thought she might have been cheating on him which is funny because he was probably cheating on her. Now that it has been proven that he is the dad, he is all joy and love publicly, but you never saw any of that until the DNA test showed the baby was his.

  1. i guess they had a no-eclusive relation and now he takes his responsability (except that the next time "use condoms Hugh")

  2. Grant recognized the kid and will pay the child support. He had a fling with a baby's mom, but never promised her anything. It's fair. He has no other obligation towards her. Why whould he want to marry a woman who was just a fling?

  3. That Billy Cudrup, Claire Danes, Mary Louise Parker dramz still burns me up.

  4. He should have gone the Clooney route and had a vasectomy then he would not have these problems

  5. @MontanaMarriott - doesn't having a "Clooney" mean having a beard and only having sex with those without a uterus?

  6. It's another case of a guy refusing to grow up. Sad. I'm sure there are some women who think he'd be such a catch, even now. Kind of like Annette Bening nabbing Warren Beatty.

  7. I don't blame him for wanting a paternity test. Nor do I think it is fair that men have to deal with a double standard when it comes to reproductive choice. A pregnant woman, especially in Europe - not so much most of the U.S. or the Middle East, can decide whether or not that pregnancy will lead to parenthood. The father has no say in this one way or the other. That being said, IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE A DAD, GET A VASECTOMY OR WEAR A CONDOM. Sorry for the screaming, but seriously! Take control of your sperm, men. Women may be lying to you if they tell you they are on the pill, especially if you are rich.

  8. Regarding Clooney...I was wondering about his ex saying that their relationship was a father/daughter type of relationship. Does this mean they never had sex?? Did she Out him??

  9. Sylvia, I am more interested in Clooney's statement about his ex-WIFE. He said;" he was betrayed" (and acts like a scalded cat) and "she is the reason he will never marry and have kids".

  10. This guy strikes me as a complete douche. He really never really reached his stardom potential in the US, huh? Now he seems like a poor man's Clooney, what with his commitment issues & all.

On a side note, wasn't he thought to be the popular answer to a blind item Enty had a couple of weeks ago about the woman getting divorced (Hurley) who was sleeping with her ex (Grant) the whole time?

  11. I'm with RJ. We have no idea what their relationship was all about but come on. To get pregnant as soon as you start dating almost? That almost sounds like a trap to me. No wonder he got a paternity test.

  12. I know no one believes me, but Clooney was not gay when he was a kid or a teen. If he's a homo, he didn't realize this until he made it to hollywood. I remember the big deal locally when he was on Facts of Life... jus sayin'. He has a history here, and none of it seems to include sex with males.

  13. I read somewhere that they were only involved for about two weeks, which is a fling in my books. If that's true, why is he obligated to be with her? He said he will support this child, which is the right thing to do. He's not the first guy to have a fling and get someone pregnant. Ryan Philippe. Benicio del Toro. Owen Wilson.

Lots of people have commitment issues, and maybe he is a d**k with a bad case of delayed adolescence, but as long as he supports this child, I have no issues with this.

  14. I don't think Clooney is gay.

Hugh Grant. What a douchebag. I understand that the baby momma was most likely just a fling, but the behavior of this man seems so self-centered. If you don't want children, take care of your bizness before hopping in the sack. Of course this girl could totally be a gold digger. Who knows..

  15. Third @RJ. Women are just as skeezy as men.

  16. It's so fascinating/disturbing to me that so many people think it's all good to just hand over a childcare check and call that "fathering" when an unplanned pregnancy occurs. Give me a break. Like that behavior isn't going to scar a child down the line.

  17. ^^^Thank you. This.

But I do agree that it's a woman's responsibility to consider birth control, too. Not just a man's.

  18. @Susan..This may not come as a surprise to you but some people are raised with only one parent. In my case it was a mom. And frankly it would have been great if dad provided something rather than nothing but we all turned out fine. If he's willing to be part of the childs life it's not detrimental and I am all for that, woe unto women who deny willing dads the opportunity. But it's not essential for their mental well being. BTW,your food blog.

  19. @Susan "like" your food blog.

  20. I don't think Clooney is gay either. I believe Laineys' thing that he is into rough play.

I also agree about Hugh being a giant tool.

  21. Sherry, thanks for the blog shoutout and your perspective on single parenting. I just always feels so bad for kids when one of the parents wants no part of their upbringing. I'm not programmed like that. LOL.

  22. Team Grant

    This was a $etup.

Clooney is bisexual and into scat play.

  23. Hugh is a massive douchebag (not just because of this, he just IS a massive douchebag.) I hope he at least has a relationship with his daughter.

I have never thought Clooney was gay. Don't see it at all. I DO however believe he's into some freaky shit. And trashy babes.

  24. @Missy -- Oh, puhLEASE. Once a man reaches the age of FIFTY, he should have enough awareness to use protection. Yeah, it's also her responsibility, but seeing how he referred to their relationship as "a fleeting affair," it doesn't even seem as if he inquired whether or not she was on the pill. And even so, hello? Diseases?

    They're both idiots.

  25. Woody and RJ sound like major tools. Much like Hugh.

  26. I'm not a Hugh Grant fan by any means. I don't dislike him. Just kind of Meh. I will say in this case and so many others, it's possible that protection was used. Nothing is 100% effective other than abstinence. Condoms break people.

  27. If these men don't want to risk an unwanted pregnancy, then snip it or wear a damn raincoat. Problem solved!

  28. @Susan, you really don't miss what you've never had. My husband's dad passed away so he too had no choice and his mama did an excellent job. She's a pretty awesome lady and his has tremendous respect for women. Sometimes good things come out of bad.

  29. I'm with RJ, too. Who knows what this woman told Hugh. I don't think Hugh has ever been dishonest about being a permanent bachelor - he reminds me a lot of Clooney. He doesn't HAVE to have a relationship with her just because she "happened" to get pregnant!

    ReplyDelete
  30. CB; yes for some reason people guessed Hugh Grant for the blind although one of the clues said her ex is an a list actor and that rules out Hugh Grant for sure.

    ReplyDelete
  31. The statement was pretty awful but I'd say it's pretty clear he didn't want to be a father. If he's still sleeping with hoards of random women, he definitely should have had a vasectomy AGES ago. I'm a little suspect of anyone that gets pregnant that early on into whatever it is they had.

Avoiding pregnancy is REALLY not hard if you put a little effort. I've been on what I call the double birth control method for YEARS & guess what? No surprise babies but still lots of sex! It isn't that hard, people!

  32. I agree with you Susan.I was raised in a single parent household and I think some damage was done."Not missing what you don't have"Bullshit.

  33. i wonder what would happenn if one of these women simply announced that she would NOT keep the child. "I'm pregnant. it's his but i'm not interested in being a mom". would the dad step up? look at all the men who just write a check but are not in ther childs life in a meaningful way. would it be different if they had to make an actual choice; step up now or never see your child and its someone elses?
