E! And Kris Humphries Blindsided By Divorce Announcement

Here is my biggest beef in this whole Kim Kardashian/Kris Humphries divorce thing. Well, one of them. My biggest beef is that the entire world is talking about it. Yes, I know that includes me, but really, with the exception of Jessica Simpson's pregnancy there is not much else to discuss this week. The other issue I have is this. All too often in Hollywood now, people are just filing for divorce or letting their publicists make an announcement and the person being divorced is never told by the divorcing person. If you stand up in front of several hundred people professing your love for someone and telling everyone that you are going to be with that person forever, don't you think you at least owe it to that person to tell them you are divorcing them in person or at least on the phone. Text? A person should not hear of it from a gossip site or from a reporter looking for a reaction. Kris was not beating Kim. There is no reason for her to be scared to confront the guy. To me what she did was cowardly and reeked of Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman and just washing your hands of the situation.

Apparently the announcement caught her boss, Ryan Seacrest, off guard and the entire E! network. Kim was on her way to Australia without an E! crew who probably would have loved to have cameras with Kim and I'm shocked that miss publicity herself did not think about that. Right now E! has a show with no ending because in the show the couple says they are going to take a break. The reason for the break? Kris wanted more money for the show. Kim knows she can find another boyfriend who will work cheaper. I'm hoping this will be her downfall and that we can finally get her and her family off our televisions forever. Or, at least limited to selling their crap products on QVC or something.

  1. Kim is not a considerate person. I think we've already established this. Like, every single day.

I can't get over how ugly he is, nor can I get over how HUGE his hands are -- they dwarf her face! Um, at least he's got that going for him...

Some ladies seek out the total package when it comes to mates, and other girls only care about one kind of package. Kim obviously falls in the latter category.

  2. His hand, OMG! It's bigger than his head! LOL!

  3. She's such a monster, it's only fitting that she dropped the bomb on Halloween.

I have a picture w/ my dad from a similar angle and my hand is on his shoulder and it looks like my hand has elephantitis... the guy's massive so he probably does have large hands but I think its a bit of camera trick too, at least I hope! It looks like he could smother her with just a hand if its not!

  5. She's an opportunistic c##t. Hey, it made her and everyone around her rich.
    BUT it's over now.

Most celebs announce divorces on a Friday afternoon to cut down on the press. It tells you all you need to know that Kim would drop this on a Monday. Gotta get that media coverage. What a famewhore.

I just feel bad for him and this makes me despise Kim and that whole trashtastic family even more. Bitch better give this poor bastard his ring back.

I doubt Kris gets the ring back. Did he actually buy it? I thought Mama Kris cut a deal to get the ring.

  10. I don't feel bad for him. Not one bit. In fact, I think this whole "marriage" was a scam, and he knew how much he'd profit from the wedding and the subsequent t.v shows. He knew what kind of family he was marrying into.

And eff him for mentioning the whole sacred "covenant" concept in his statement. As if a relationship is more valid because of a religious ceremony performed after only A FEW MONTHS of dating. I know it was already said yesterday here and elsewhere, but it still drives me insane how American homosexuals are barred from obtaining the same legal advantages as two hetero famewhores who barely knew each other when they promised to stay together forever -- or, at least until they finally tired of each other's considerable bullshit. It's just so fucking ridiculous.

  11. E! is running the wedding shows. Right now is the shower and planning. She just was talking about how she wanted to change her name. Yeah, I watching it. Not much else to watch. Although now it's just funny considering the news.

  13. My take-away from this post is wondering what the real story was between Tom and Nicole. Now THAT was interesting celebrity gossip.

  14. Would this be enough to piss off Ryan Seacrest enough that he'd get rid of these pigs? I would have LOVED to see the look on his face when he found out!

  15. Couldn't have happened to two finer people.

  16. Maybe this will anger everyone enough that we won't have to hear from them again. I know this thought has already been put out there, I agree totally.

Seriously, all I think of when I see her face is urine, hotel room, video camera. I don't WANT her to be in the public eye. There are many other women out there we could be paying attention to. Preferably ones who don't remind me of piss.

Come on you guys...ENT included...if you don't think that every bit of this is not scripted and contracts signed, Ryan Seacrest included...ya'll's crazy!

  19. How can E! claim to be "surprised and saddened" when they helped plan the whole thing out?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Harvey Levin on TMZ was asking "was Kris played? were we all played?"

Not me. I didn't believe this shit for a second!

I am getting a giggle out of Ryan Seacrest having the rug pulled out from under him though.

  21. Nope this chick is about to get PAID. She causes a knee-jerk reaction in most people that makes us want to know more. We hate her and yet we are still reading about her. She will continue to make headlines about who she is dating, marrying, having babies with, divorcing for YEARS!!

Unless we ALL get together and boycott her. Totally ignore her and her family.

This is the smartest dumb girl ever!!I hope her money/fame keeps her happy, but I doubt it...

    ReplyDelete
  22. Hey Kim, do you hear that? Tick Tock goes the clock.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I find the divorce announcement and the release of Kris Jenner's book highly suspect.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I don't believe for a second that Kris was blindsided - I'm sure that him saying he was it was either part of the original plan or something his image consultant told him to do.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I was also thinking I find this kind of thing more disgusting and hypocritcal than gay marriage.

    ReplyDelete
  26. In Canada we have Gay Marriages. In the USA they have Kim K. So happy I'm Canadian.

    ReplyDelete
  27. ENTy is right. Why are we wasting our precious brain cells on this piece-of-trash family.

Let's engage in something more interesting.

Merrill Markoe has a new book out today. If you aren't familiar with Markoe, she's a smart and funny lady who is the former head writer of Letterman's old show (she literally invented Stupid Pet Tricks). Naturally I haven't read the new book yet, but if it's like all the others she's written, it's funny and has heart and it will make you happy.

The incomparable Nile Rodgers recently released his bio, too. It's called Le Freak, and it chronicles a most amazing life. You may be familiar with Nile's songs from his band, Chic, but chances are you're even more familiar with the music he's written and produced for others. Nile is battling an aggressive prostate cancer, but he still writes daily posts on his blog that are upbeat and spirited. Highly recommend.

See, there are better things to talk about than trash. If you have any recommendations, I'd love to hear them. F the K's and their band of famewhores. We are better than that.

  28. There were rumors in the NY papers last week about Kim visiting a noted divorce lawyer's office. That wasn't a warning to Kris?

On the other foot, that Seacrest and E! didn't know about the filing is new behavior for Pimpa Kris and Kim. I don't plan to stay tuned.

    ReplyDelete
  29. @Little Miss Smoke and Mirrors - yes! Yay you! Don't have any recommendations for you, haven't been reading much lately, but thanks for yours. I'll see if the library has any. I'm interested in the behind-the-scenes of talk shows lately, as I met a woman in August who was a Conan editor for years. She shared some interesting stuff (no smut, though she did tell me my impression of Conan was pretty correct, and that Andy Richter is a great guy).

I hope others have recommendations, too!

  31. What I don't get is why people are convinced this is going to be her downfall. She became famous because she made a sex tape. The girl's got no shame, and it's not like she's been making her millions because of all her talent. I'm pretty sure she can make this divorce profitable for her.

To take a page from LMS&M:

    * Barnes & Noble is having their fall Criterion sale. 50% off suggested retail price. A great way to build a quality DVD collection if you enjoy that hobby as well as movie a bit off the beaten path.

    * I've heard about Nile Rodgers' memoirs and I'll probably buy it. Sounds really good.

    * Anyone watch any good horror movies during October? I've done that for several years now. It's fun. I can recommend a few films if anyone is interested.

Yeah, this is much more fun!

  33. If anyone needs a book rec, I finally picked up Justin Cronin's The Passage, and I tore through it in about three days. It's MESMERIZING. If the Kardashians make you fantasize about an impending Apocalypse, you'll love this novel. And Ridley Scott is on board to direct the movie adaptation -- I can't wait!

And I'm totally jealous of those of you who've already read the new Eugenides novel. According to the library, there are only 145 people ahead of me. I should have it in my hands by the Spring Equinox, at least. *Sigh* I am NOT paying nearly thirty bucks at B&N for a book, though. Not even yours, Jeffery.

Also, Tony Horwitz has a new book on the shelves. He writes incredibly humorous historical nonfiction. I can't recommend him -- or his wife, Geraldine Brooks -- more highly.

I've had The Passage on my shelf for months and STILL haven't read it. Shame on me. It sounds great.

I'm currently reading Shock Value, a book about the boom period of horror movies from the 1960s and 1970s. Can you tell I love horror movies? LOL! I recommend it if you're into that genre of film.

  36. Layna, if you love horror, you will ADORE The Passage. I'm not easily freaked out, but it's definitely an unsettling book to read before bed. Trust me. My dreams were *weird* all weekend long.

And I'll put Shock Value on my library list!

  37. Hey anyone else reading the new Murakami novel?

  38. @msgirl -- It's on my list. :-) Are you loving it?

  39. Thanks for that @RenoBlondee! That's a blind reveal from before I was reading CDAN. Still leaves some questions, but does answer the basic question about whether their marriage was just a cold contract.

  40. Ida - I'm loving! So far may be his best yet, and that's saying a lot. Very straight forward too, yet of course very weird things happening.

  41. I also found the timing of the divorce announcement and Mama K's new book suspicious. I believe the book is actually due to be released next week...? So she's doing the show circuit this week. I would LOVE to have heard the conversation that Mama K forced an early divorce announcement so it wouldn't be RIGHT on top of her book but just right so that she gets even more publicity.

I am also SO HOPING that Kris H did get duped! He's dumb enough. The fact that E! producers "shopped" for athletes before KK "settled" on KH. That she's filing for divorce not annulment. Oh I so hope that there isn't a confidentiality clause in the prenup so he can talk!!! (But there probably is.) Was NOT intersted in all in the wedding, but this divorce crap is intriuging. OMG please will it end up that KH files fraud charge against her?!?!?! Please oh please?!?!?

Didn't know about how KK just filed and flew to Australia. You know, she is getting long in the tooth for E!'s core audience. Did she buy a one-way ticket? (Sorry, Australia, but we don't want her back.)

  42. @figgy
    You're welcome!
I think the consensus was she was with Ewan during Moulin Rouge and became pregnant and that was the deal breaker. Remember how in their divorce papers it stated she had a miscarriage?

  44. I'm with Brendalove and the others who are not buying that Seacrest and E! were blindsided.I just don't believe for a second that this whole thing wasn't orchestrated by committee. Kim never does anything that isn't scripted.

    ReplyDelete
  45. @figgy & @renoblondee, I met someone who worked on Moulin Rouge. Nicole was doing Ewan and an assistant director on the film. Ewan was also doing random women, one of whom talked to a newspaper. Ewan never sued the newspaper. Apparently she didn't recognise him until the next morning, but he went out without his wedding ring. Also, we have enough dickheads in Australia, we are sending Kim K back! She has already been ripped off on a morning show here called Sunrise. Natalie Barr is my heroine.

    ReplyDelete
  46. OK, so I just heard something and thought of something: E! is supposedly meeting today to discuss the divorce situation. Supposedly, someone on the inside is saying this (from NYPost): The source said that Kardashian tied the knot with Humphries because “it was seen as something good to do for the show.” But after the wedding, after getting to know Humphries better (they were engaged for 85 days before getting married), a few weeks was “all it took for Kim to be like ‘I’m not that into this guy.’”

Now...given the news previously that E! producers were "shopping" for an athlete for KK and the above, Kris H's attorney just could be making the case that KK and E! were complicit in securing a marriage just for ratings and, thus, could be liable for MILLIONS in damages.

Oh, that would be just too delicious!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Kris H paid 2m for that engagement ring and he s a locked out NBA player. He better sue to get that ring back.

Heck he should have just used that 2m just to bang hookers for the rest of his life than this scam.

    ReplyDelete
  48. @msgirl -- Murakami is a lovable weirdo, for sure. :-) I'm so excited to read 1Q84! I'm glad you're liking it so much. I read The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle a few years ago and I loved it, so I just checked out as much Murakami as I could from my local library. I've been sort of on a Japanese magical realism kick over the past few months. It's kinda like being over there, only I get to avoid the crowds -- but I miss out on all the food. Sadness.

@nunaurbiz -- I don't see how Kris would have a legit case against the Kardashians, though, even if his attorneys can somehow prove that the marriage was entirely loveless. I guess he could claim fraudulence, but HE'S the one who asked her to marry him, and let's not forget how the proposal was caught on camera. Personally, I doubt he was duped, and I don't buy that he was put off by her famewhorishness. He sure was awfully eager to appear in public with Kim over the past few months.

I definitely think he should reap half the profits earned from the publicity surrounding that stupid wedding, though -- and that includes the People profile, even though he wasn't important enough to merit a cover appearance with the bride on her first of many ~special days.~

    ReplyDelete
  49. *Since Kim already moseyed down the aisle way before she met Kris, I guess that should read "second of many (upcoming) ~special days~."

  55. I guess what bothers me about this whole AFFAIR is this: KK would have us believe that she really, truly at one point did care for this man. But then she parties on Halloween weekend and, presumably, drops the divorce on Monday and leaves the country to make some more money. Oh, and leaves her family to clean up the mess and try to put some sympathy out there for her.

That, friends, is the REAL Kim Kardashian. Wow, what happened to her to make her such a cold-hearted person? She doesn't even have the capacity to even feign a big stuggle with what should have been a hugely emotional issue.

Next time some man thinks he's "the one" someone should replay this entire event LOL

  58. OMG, Jasonblueeyes. Love the pics.

As stated on a daily basis by moi, I hate all things Kardashian. But I will be very interested to see how this plays out. I wonder if this is the nail in the coffin I have been hoping for.

And for reals, I can't believe of all the NBA players out there, this sad sack of ugly is who Kim Kardashian duped into walking down the aisle. Lord have mercy.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I know 90% of this was scripted, but I don't believe the timing was planned by Mama Kris or E!. I think Kim was maybe trying to show them she's the boss. I think they were planning to have it come a little later. This is not a good thing for Kim's image. I think a 6 month marriage was probably more what they had in mind. Also, would they have planned it for two days before LiLo goes to court and possible to jail? If she does, she's getting all the tabloid covers, and Kim's going to be the insets.

    ReplyDelete

  63. Kim has a new purse debuting today in Austrailia... Does she reveal the things in person usually? I think Mama K's book was realeased a week early to capitalize on timing... this whole thing is bizarre..and rather irrelevant in the scheme of life. I would marry alot of things for a total of 6 months for 2 mill...
