Zoolander On SNL

Stefon and Derek Zoolander? Yes please. This 5 minutes was really, really funny. Seth Myers laughs almost as much as Jimmy Fallon used to.

  1. I still find Zoolander terribly overrated.

I think people only like it because they have fond memories of it. It was the comedy that came out the weekend after 9/11 when it was socially acceptable again to go out and have a little fun.

  2. ugh what a bust this show was. No Eddie Murphy and all the bits were rehashed from past shows.

The only thing Ben said that was interesting was at the end he said it was the craziest week of his life.

I wonder if some backstage drama went down with Eddie and he pulled out at the last moment? Hope Enty gets some dish on it.

  3. Didn't watch it - I always forget to watch SNL these days. I do love me some Stefon though!

  4. Ben Stiller does not look good in HD.

  5. @beth - I completely agree. Zoolander was not that funny a movie. It would have been funny as a skit on Ben's old Fox show - but not as a feature length movie.

I'll bet Lorne Michaels is planning a Stefon movie.

  6. The ONLY reason this was funny is because Stefon is hilarious and Bill Hader is a genius. The comedy went downhill when Stiller showed up on screen.

  7. I think Ben Stiller looks HORRIBLE. All those thousands of blinds about him being man-orexic are obviously true.
He looks TINY and just drawn and exhausted and if you look at publicity pics of him in the last year or so, you can really see this look. Like he's trying to run on empty, when you dont fuel your body with food i think this is what it looks like, on him at least.

  8. actually the only good thing about Zoolander was the small role Alex Skarsgard had as a model that gets blown up. Now that was funny.

  10. Yeah, I liked Zoolander too...still watch it from time to time. Then again, it's one of those movies that I just WOULD like you know? I'm pretty easy to please, cinematically *L*.

  11. Totally don't get Zoolander's appeal, but always glad to see Stefon. Apparently Seth Meyers does too, as he seemed to start cracking up before he even finished the intro...love when the SNL guys start laughing during their skits!

  12. I still laugh thinking about Zoolander. It was hilarious in my opinion. So, I love this skit. I didn't like Stefon at first but he's grown on me.

I have SNL on DVR and haven't watched it yet but have heard many people comment about how horrible Ben looked.

The gas station scene was the best part of Zoolander. It was funny in places. Stefon was much funnier in this bit than Zoolander.

  15. I loved Zoolander. My husband and I both noticed how much Ben had aged only when he was on Weekend Update.

I thought quite a few of the SNL skits were funny. I loved the insurance commercials & Columbus Day bit. We thought the Fox & Friends sketch was spot on.

I also think Hugh Jackman is an INCREDIBLY good sport.

  16. I love Stefon and my favorite thing about Jimmy Fallon aside from his amazing impressions is how much he breaks.

  17. Right on, Timebob. Right on.

Stefan is AWESOME. Ben Stiller looked he needed some serious face work.

The absolute best news skits were Chris Parnell's raps about Kirsten Dunst, What's her name from Alias, and Britney. I love listening to them!

  18. I LOVE Stefon! He makes the show for me, especially when he covers his face from laughing! Seth Myers as the straight man (in more ways than one)is so funny too. Zoolander did not do it for me, and the show was not great. I wanted EDDIE!
