here is a photo of a dog, I think it's a whippet, dressed up as one of the giant snow crawling tanks from The Empire Strikes Back. I think this is one of the best costumes I've seen.
That reminds me of the one and only time I ever tried to costume one of my cats. Got reindeer antlers with bells on them. Designed for cats, btw. Thought, 30 seconds, quick picture and that'll be it. Got the cat, put the antlers on, and took the picture. She wasn't happy with the bells, much less something strapped below her chin. But the flash from the camera was the last straw. She let loose a howl, jumped down from my partner's arm by virtue of a 6 inch scratch, and took off into the house, with the antlers around her neck, bells ringing with every movement she made, scaring her all the more. All told, it took us a half an hour to finally catch her and get the damn thing off her neck. But after that experience, I swore no way in hell am I ever putting another animal in costume. Well, a cat anyway.
@Merlin! I LMFAO..I have cats and there is no way in hell either. They truly are smarter than us!
That being said I feel sorry for this dog. Although he does not seem to be perturbed by it obviously. My nephew's dog LOVED sweaters and such and would actually go pick out what he wanted to wear for the day. That's what he told me anyway.
I actually had devil horns for my cat (who was seriously the "Cat from Hell"). He actually kept them on long enough for me to snap a few pics (he was used to that part) before shaking them off his head.
My dog, however, won't even keep his pirate hat/dreadlocks on long enough for a pic.
Merlin - your story is hilarious (although I'm sure painful at the time)!!!
Cute, but it doesn't beat Dog Vader from a few years ago...
ReplyDeleteLOVE!!!
ReplyDeleteROFL
ReplyDeleteToo cute but my dog would never, she hates costumes, clothes, etc
My dog would give me a 'Bitch please,' look if I even tried; however, it was very cute.

ReplyDeleteThe AT-AT is definitely the best dog costume ever. The owner said that her dog loves getting dressed up.
ReplyDeleteShe made it out of cardboard and paperclips and it didn't fall apart? I'm very impressed!
ReplyDelete@Merlin D. Bear - LOL :)
