Today's Blind Items

This one was sent to me about a week ago and for some reason I thought I had already shared it with everyone but cannot find it. If I have, don't worry, because I have another one later. Maybe it is just because I have told a few people this item in the past week and it has been kind of a cocktail party thing too because of the ungratefulness and two faced-ness (faciness?) of the subject. Anyway, this very talented B- list actress who was nothing before a certain hit network show and will probably fade away into a C after the show runs its course in the near future was at an event recently. The event was for her boss who gave her the job and the break and she told him she would be so happy to go and support him. However she told a different story to other people. Twice. Prior to leaving for the event she told one person that she could not believe that her boss was not paying her or giving her a gift or at least arranging a limo for her. "I mean, I am spending a couple of hours of my time there for him, he should appreciate how valuable my time is."

The second time was during the actual event when she forced a smile while posing for photos with her boss and on the red carpet and then told someone, "How long before I can get out of here? I did what he asked and I want to go. I have more important things to do."

  2. Don't worry honey, you're going to have plenty of time soon.....

  3. One of the Desperate Housewives? It's going off the air this year ("the near future")

  4. Lea Michele at the American Horror Story premiere for Ryan Murphy.

  5. Lea Michelle? She attended the American Horror Story premiere, which was created by the Glee co-creators.

  6. Whitney Cummings? I know she's more of an actress than a comedienne, but her eponymous show is HORRID and getting terrible reviews. I know it was just renewed, but I can't imagine it lasting beyond another season. It's only popular because of its time slot.

  7. DAMN. Typing at the same time.

  8. OH! Okay, I am TOTALLY on board with Lea for this one. I didn't even think of the fact that she showed up at the AHS premiere, and Glee is bound to end in the next year or so.

AHS, BTW, is *worse* than Whitney, in my opinion. I liked that premise a lot better when Jack Nicholson was the protagonist and Stanley Kubrick was the director. Ryan Murphy is an unimaginative hack, and his dialogue totally sucks -- it's distractingly bad. Connie Britton and Jessica Lange could each do a LOT better.

  9. ITA -It's Lea Michele.

  10. Lea makes the most sense, since Enty said "very talented." Can't deny her talent, despite her personality.

    ReplyDelete
  11. @Ida - I have to agree. I tried to watch "Whitney" but barely made it 10 minutes. Ditto for "2 Broke Girls," and I am a sucker for a sitcom.

  12. Lea was the very first person that came to mind for me. That girl is CONVINCED she is the Next Big Thing.

  13. I agree with Lea - like Trey the "very talented" part immediately made me think a singer as well as actress. And no one knew much of her before Glee unless you know the broadway circuit.

I liked American Horror Story though. Just because its different than alot of the other fluff on tv now. It gives me a little variety in my week. At least for now until they cancel it. lol.

  14. Haven't watched the show, and probably won't, but I love Jessica Lange's line in the commercial..."don't make me kill you again" haha

  15. @ms snarky, thank you, I thought I was the only one who thought Two Broke Girls is terrible and unwatchable, same goes for Suburgatory!! horrendous!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Dean, er Dylan McDermott is enuf to keep my attention.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Lea for sure.

I agree Whitney is unwatchable, but I disagree about 2 Broke Girls. Part of the problem with the latter is Kat Denning's character is mean, which is problematic. However, it appears they are starting to make her more tolerant. Otherwise, that schtick is going to get old really fast.

  18. Totally Lea Michele. Hey Lea -- ask Jon Heder, who was once the Next Big Thing, how being a Grade A prick worked out for him.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Is Lea really B- list? I agree she fits though.

Even with the success of Glee, if I were her (or anybody else on that show), I'd be nervous. Once Ryan Murphy gets tired of Glee, he'll drop it like a hot potato... just ask everybody on Nip/Tuck.

  20. I thought of January Jones immediately but her show isn't on a network.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I almost with Glee would get canceled just to give Lea an attitude adjustment.

    ReplyDelete
  22. agree about 2 broke girls, but keep giving it "just one more chance" because i like kat dennings...

    ReplyDelete
  23. I think Two Broke Girls started out strong, but now it's just petering off into mediocrity. The episode I watched last night was pretty lame.

I might be alone in this, but I don't really dig The New Girl, either. Zooey Deschanel is cute as a button, but GOD is she fucking annoying. No range at ALL, and her monotone voice drives me insane.

Me and my daughter love "Suburgatory" and have been laughing our butts off. I guess we are in the minority. I agree it is Lea Michelle and I am so going to enjoy her coming D List status. Ungrateful witch.

  25. Lea is a great guess. They just had a premiere and I think she was the only one from Glee there.

  26. AHS is dreadful and boring. Jessica Lange is pretty awesome in it, though.

I've been enjoying 2 Broke Girls. I know it's not the best but once shows hit their strides, figure out their characters, etc, it can either get better or worse.

I'm still thinking about the shoe ferris wheel... those shoes.....

Pan Am was a lot better Sunday night. Aaaaaand that's all the news shows I've watched.

    ReplyDelete
  28. My first thought was Piper Perabo on Covert Affairs.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Although I hate myself for thinking it, Melissa McCarthy came to mind.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Zooey Deschanel is tremendously overrated. I will never understand how or why she is an It Girl. Blech. I mean, lovely skin, eyes, hair, etc., but a very limited actress and very average looking.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I am enjoying Two Broke Girls and yes the shoe ferris wheel was funny! I am not liking The New Girl either but I like Zooey, it just does not work for me. Suburgatory is growing on me!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Big Bang is signed on to air until 2014 - that's not going away in the near future so It's not Kaley.

And I have a question: Is her name pronounced "ZOO-ey" or "Zo-ey?"

    ReplyDelete
  33. Really like "2 Broke Girls." "Whitney" is unwatchable. "New Girl" was funny during it's first episode but now feel it's trying too hard. I'm giving up on "Pan Am" I think.

Just started watching "Shameless." Now that's a show I love.

    ReplyDelete
  34. @JasonBlueEyes - its zo-ey (no zoo sound)

I think I'm giving up on Pan Am too, but I cannot WAIT until Shameless comes back. That's a GREAT show. I'm also feeling the new show on Showtime, Homeland. Have to say, the premium channel shows hold my attention anymore than network shows do.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Bnl1016 -- I ADORE Homeland. It's an excellent show, and Claire Danes is honestly one of the best actresses of my generation. It *is* kinda like watching a grown-up and even more anxious Angela Chase, though. :-)

I gave up halfway through the first episode of The New Girl. Tv characters have to be somewhat likable and if I knew Jess in real life, I would hate her.

    ReplyDelete
  37. @Ida - Part of me will always <3 Jordan Catalano.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I'm on Team Lea for this one. I keep remembering how unprofessionally she behaved at some big event, necking with her boyfriend (himself an actor who should have known better) at their table, and then dissing photographers. And this was when "Glee" had only been on a little while. At that stage they both should have been kissing PR a*s in every direction. Ego for days, that one.

    Agreed, totally my first thought.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I know I'm echo-ing everyone else before me but this is definitely Leah Michelle.

I agree with what Kelsey said way back in the thread about how Ryan Murphy is going to drop glee just as he did Nip/Tuck when it's not outrageously popular like it is now.

I am definitely questioning if it will do well with seniors graduating this year.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I watched three episodes of the New Girl, trying so hard to like it, and I just don't. At all. I was over and done with it, then the fuckers announced Lizzie Caplan will be doing a guest arc, so now I have to keep watching, dammit!

    ReplyDelete
  42. LOL Mooshki, I LOVE Lizzie Caplan. I have never seen The New Girl, but if Lizzy's in it I might have to ;)

    ReplyDelete
  43. I love Lea Michele for this. She's a Patti Lapone in the making. Talented, sure, but the nasty attitude and the constantly outstretched palm (even for appearances at charity events) is ugly.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Rose, Naya Rivera was there as well. She was actually my guess for this blind but not sure she is considered 'very talented' even if she got a record deal first.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I just checked and FS is right - Naya was there as was Amber Riley and Jayma Mays. They were probably all there but I stopped looking at pics when i saw the 4 of them. Tho I am totally onboard with the Lea Michele guess for this one.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Ida, Bnl10161 - Homeland is riveting. Mostly because of Damian Lewis. And I was totally addicted to My So Called Life. Go Jordan Catalano!

    ReplyDelete
  47. I've only seen the 1st eps of New Girl...I'm sad to hear you guys don't like it (b/c that probably means I won't either). Sigh. I love Zooey too.

I finally saw the first couple episodes of Prime Suspect & liked it a lot but I heard it was on the death watch list.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Skeeball and Ms Snarky..I felt badly for saying last week that I thought Two Broke Girls wasn't all that and a bag of chips either. I actually stopped in the middle of the show watching it last night and switched to Diners, Drive Ins and Dives with Douche Guy Fierri. I actually did..

    ReplyDelete
  49. I just don't see Lea Michele as B- list; at least, not right now. She's one of the most famous and recognizable Glee actors (even if she is a bitch.)

I have no other real guesses, though.

    ReplyDelete
  50. *yawn* Another cookie-cutter fake blind for Enty so that y'all can go "what a bitch!" on Lea Michelle.

    And Blogger weezy said...

"I'm on Team Lea for this one. I keep remembering how unprofessionally she behaved at some big event, necking with her boyfriend (himself an actor who should have known better) at their table, and then dissing photographers."

Meaning you were there? Or just read Ted C's obviously biased account?

    ReplyDelete
  51. Tatyana -- no, I haven't read Ted C's stuff in *years.* I read the account at the time, then a re-hash recently in a discussion of Lea's breakup with her knucklehead former boyfriend.
