Today's Blind Items

This is one of my favorite blind items in awhile. Anyway, there is a manuscript that is floating around town that was written by a former almost A lister. I mean he was close. Starred in a set of franchise films but after those went by the wayside he has pretty much stayed with television. Been on two very big hit shows in the last few years, but probably just a B- lister and that is only because so many people would know our actor's name when you here it. In the manuscript our actor writes about how he and this almost A list television actress on a very hit network show who was a B lister back in the day when this happened, used massive amounts of cocaine and through cocaine is how he got our actress into some very kinky sex. Our actor was into watching our actress with other men. He wrote about how she did not want to do this but he used drugs and manipulation to get her to do this. He admits that he was not in his right mind while using and is regretful about his behavior back then and was very controlling of her but he didn't have a problem recounting the details in this manuscript.

Once our actor had a male acquaintance come over to our actor's New York apartment. They were coked up. Our actress came home and was upset with our actor about something he was supposed to do but he didn't. He couldn't recount what she was upset about. He talked our actress into sitting down with them and to snort some cocaine and calm down. Our actress was still mad at our actor and began flirting heavily with he friend. Our actor wrote that after a little while he looked up and our actress and the friend were kissing in front of him. The friend began kissing her neck while our actress stared at our actor. Both of them were turned on. Our actor describes that he watched in silence as our actress orally serviced the friend while she was still staring at our actor. The friend finished and left and our actor began yelling at our actress. Huge argument that led to sex on the floor of his apartment. That was the first of many stories of the two in the one section of the book where he talks about their life together. There are others including several arguments our actor had with our actress and the makeup sex they would have. Very detailed. Infidelities on both of their parts and how our actor made our actress describe exactly what she did sexually with other men while they were high. Very intense sexual relationship that led to an engagement but fizzled when our actress wanted a different lifestyle. Pretty crazy chapter. The only good one in the whole manuscript.

  1. Michael Keaton? Batman would be the franchise, and he was with Courteney Cox for quite a while.

I don't think he's been on TV much since then, though, so maybe not.

    ReplyDelete
  2. Uh, what kind of movie is this going to be?

    ReplyDelete
  3. my instinct was dominic monaghan. LOTR. alllmost A list with Lost. Then was in Flash Forward.

but Evangeline lilly doesn't fit for the chick. The relationship/engagement/then broken off fits, but no the A/B list thing. Nor would I buy it being her.

    hmmm...

    ReplyDelete
  4. I think Keaton fails the "Been on two very big hit shows in the last few years" part, no?

    ReplyDelete
  5. Goldblum (Laura Dern), Keaton (Cox) and Monaghan (Lilly) came to mind but they don't meet all the criteria.

    ReplyDelete
  6. What shows are hit network shows right now?

    ReplyDelete
  7. Jeff Goldblum (Jurrasic Park, L&O..) and Kristen Davis (Sex and the City)

    ReplyDelete
  8. I was all over @Momma's guess until I reread the item. Kristen Davis and SATC don't fit b/c it says the actress' show was a network show.

    Damn, this is a stumper!

    ReplyDelete
  9. I'm with Goldblum. (But with Laura Dern, maybe.) Heard years ago he was into poo play.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Also, I don't think Kristin Davis would be into the coke. She's an alcoholic and has been sober since her mid-twenties (before SATC began).

    ReplyDelete
  11. Also, Goldblum dated some chick from Lost for a few years.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Kristin Davis was on Melrose Place before SATC. Perhaps this was prior to her becoming sober.

    ReplyDelete
  13. just to throw out something different...

    actor-jason biggs
    franchise-american pie, et al
    tv credits-mad love

    actress-alyson hannigan
    tv-himym

    ReplyDelete
  14. Rob Lowe and Melissa Gilbert?

    ReplyDelete
  15. I think the "apartment in New York" should be some kind of clue. What TV series film there?

    Hey! What about Laurence Fishburne?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Kristin Davis was on Melrose Place--the original series. I hope this gets revealed-even 1/2 of the equation!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Basil - I absolutely agree that the NY apt is a clue.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I thought to add Laurence since he was on CSI and in The Matrix but I couldn't find anyone he was engaged to between his marriages, etc.

    ReplyDelete
  19. What about Ted Danson and Whoopi Goldberg?

Whoopi is an A list actress on a hit network show (the view)

Ted - Three men and a baby franchise?
he is on Curb your enthusiasm and damages, bored to death and CSI

    ReplyDelete
  20. i don't think jason biggs and alyson hannigan were ever engaged were they?

i wondered if it were Josh Jackson - Mighty Ducks, Dawson's now Fringe (which films in NYC) BUTTT he's still with Diane Krueger which doesn't fit.

    ReplyDelete
  21. kiiiiiind of like the ted/whoopi thang but are they not A list for definite? i hate this "list" thing. Its too subjective.

    ReplyDelete
  22. loved the keaton/cox guess but it doesn't fit. neither does ted and whoopi.

then i thought of SJP and RDJ but he doesn't fit either. that's the one that occurred to me first.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Timothy Olyphant - Scream Franchise
The Office and the show he's on now, can't think of the name of it.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I was thinking Alec Baldwin, but I guess he really wasn't in any franchises.

    This is a crazy blind.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Chris Klein and Katie Holmes

    ReplyDelete
  26. This IS a crazy one.

Timothy Olyphant - I think you are thinking of Justified. But he's been married since the early 90s.

It would be totally interesting if it WERE Chris and Katie. Would make sense as to why she ran to a stupid "contracted" thing like Tom Cruise if she so wanted out of a coke/sex situation. But has Chris really done TV all like that? I thought everything he did got canceled firs season.

    ReplyDelete
  27. what tv has Chris Klein done? because, otherwise, he seems like the type.

    ReplyDelete
  28. but I can't believe that TommyBoy would let any script with references to Katie float around Hwood.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Don't know how much TV Chris Klein has done, but you reminded me of his audition video. I don't even care if it's real or not. Still hilarious.

    http://www.collegehumor.com/video/6082334/chris-klein-auditions-for-mamma-mia

    ReplyDelete
  30. how about Josh Duhamel? he was in Transformers, but he's a little light on the tv, unless you count Las Vegas and Crossing Jordan as big hits.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I think CDANLUVA called it: Rob Lowe and Melissa Gilbert. Lowe was in the Austin Powers films and the recent TV hits would be Brothers & Sisters and Parks & Rec. Gilbert's very hit network show would be Little House on the Prairie. Also, Lowe recently had an autobiograpy published, and there would have been a manuscript before there was a book. Not everything from the manuscript would have made it into the book, and the actress chapter may have been one left out in the face of legal action. Finally, Lowe and Gilbert did date, got engaged and broke it off, and there were LOTS of sex and drug stories circulating about them back in that day. Rob Lowe and Melissa Gilbert.

    ReplyDelete
  32. @Queen -
    nice! I'm with you.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Don't think it's Rob Lowe. The blind reads as if the actress was B- at the time and A list now. So it's definitely not Melissa Gilbert.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I don't think its Rob Lowe either. I think we are shooting too high for the guy. It says he's BEEN ON two tv shows, not necessarily starred in them. It also says B list only because most ppl would recognize his name. I think Rob Lowe's a little higher than that on the hollywood todem pole. He also has way more than two tv shows in the past few years: aside from Brothers & Sisters/Parks & Rec he was on West Wing which wasn't too long ago and had an arc on Californication. Also still does movies in his downtime.

I also agree that it reads that the actress NOW is A list, then was B list, rather than the other way around.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Love this blind, Enty! And I have no guesses at this time (but I like the Rob/Melissa guess best) but will roll this one over for DAYS in my head.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I don't think it's a given that the actress is A list now. Melissa Gilbert was A list on a successful network tv show. Back in they day when the blind took place she was more of a B list.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Alec Baldwin was in a franchise, he played Jack Ryan (Clear and Present Danger, Hunt for Red October, and whatever that mess was with Affleck as Jack Ryan...)

    ReplyDelete
  38. Am I reading it wrong? it sounds like the actor was in 2 separate movie franchises.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I haven't read Lowe's book yet, but if memory serves, I read a review of it that says there's no real mention of Gilbert. Maybe because her chapter was cut?

The problem I have with this being Rob Lowe is I don't think he's B- list at all. He's more like A-.

The Baldwin guess is interesting. Was he engaged to anyone else besides Basinger?

    ReplyDelete
  40. Never mind, Baldwin is in no way B- list either. He and Lowe are both in the low A/high B range, I say low A list.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I consider the "brat pack" movies a franchise. Also Austin Powers.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Other than "A versus B list," which is subjective, Lowe and Gilbert *do* seem to fit...

    ReplyDelete
  43. @Cancan - I love Timothy Olyphant to pieces, and I just wanted to clarify that he wasn't in the Scream movies! You must be thinking of Skeet Ulrich or Liev Schreiber.

Whew, glad I got THAT off my chest!

    ReplyDelete
  44. @SmokeandMirros - Agree. Lowe & Baldwin are both higher to me.

Rob didn't mention her much at all in his book and that bothered her because she talked alot about him in hers. If my ex had all this dirt on me I'd be RELIEVED!

My problem with the situation in general is that he also was the one that dumped her and then she had a miscarriage right after. She was extremely heartbroken when he left her. It doens't fit what this says about leaving because she didn't want that lifestyle. She wanted it... it was her mother that kept her from him. And his book did say that as well.

    ReplyDelete
  45. js--Timothy Olyphant was in Scream 2.

    ReplyDelete
  46. @JS - Timothy was in Scream2. Just not all of them.

    ReplyDelete
  47. How about Emilio Estevez? Franchises being Young Guns - but I don't think he's done much tv now except for cameos, and I don't know if he was engaged to anyone besides Paul Abdul.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I have no guesses but this is how I read the clues:
Male was an almost A-lister based on the franchise movies. Those ended and he has been on TV in two very big hit shows in just the last two years. Has B- name recognition.

Female was B when the blind happened but is currently A list on a hit network show.

So, aren't we looking for a female who is a on a show now?

With the NYC clue - could it be Tina Fey when she was on SNL and she gave up the kink to get married and have a kid? Could also be Amy Poehler?

    ReplyDelete
  49. I don't think this is Rob Lowe. I haven't read his book, but didn't it get pretty good reviews?

In any event, the BI reads as if the manuscript has not been (and would not be) publishable because it is crap.

    ReplyDelete
  50. This is so not Tina Fey. She's known as a goodie-goodie.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Rob Lowe's book IS good. Its very interesting. He talks about 9/11 and running around with Charlie Sheen and Chris Farley. Its a good read for sure. I have a hard time with Enty saying the omitted chapter was the only good one if this were him. I also read this as though its unpublished.

Does "network tv" mean the basics? ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, WB only? Or is network TV also cable networks.... as in anything other than the premium channels. I was always a little uncertain about that since cable TV shows are so good now days. And those channels are called networks too.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Alyson Hanigan sounds like a good guess. B list while on Buffy, closer to A list now that she's been in HIMYM, which takes place in NY so the NY apt clue fits. Not sure about the guy, she's been with her husband for a long time now.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I have no idea who this is but "our actor" seems like it's a clue.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Ted Danson was A list from Cheers before he ever made a film and Whoopi was A list in the movies, but never for her TV acting. They don't fit at all.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Heather Locklear and William Shatner kinda of fit

    ReplyDelete
  56. when was heather locklear engaged to william shatner?

I'm seriously STUMPED. I've gone through the network tv schedule and can't think of any almost A listers who were engaged to b lister from a couple recent tv shows. Grrrr.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Does "network tv" mean the basics? ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, WB only? Or is network TV also cable networks.... as in anything other than the premium channels. I was always a little uncertain about that since cable TV shows are so good now days. And those channels are called networks too.

The former. AMC, F/X, Comedy Central, E!, etc., are all considered cable.

We need ENTY to give us another clue!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Michael J. Fox, with Back to the Future being the movie franchise, and Family Ties and Spin City being the TV shows, and Courtney Cox being the almost A-lister?

Lotsa cocaine back in the 80's, and the actor in the blind does seem bashful about it now.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Anonymous3:14 PM

Not to be "that guy" but why would we even believe this is true? So many things to doubt from the manuscript being a true story to the entire story.

    ReplyDelete
  60. The almost A list actor, "starred in a set of franchise films"

This has to be at least 3 franchise movies right, two is a pair, three is a set, that would seem to be the most obvious way to narrow it down...

home alone - macaulay culkin, mila?
    spiderman: tobey maguire & kiki?

    ReplyDelete
  61. My parsing of the blind is a little different from y'all's, and I think Rob Lowe and Melissa Gilbert still fit quite well.

First, Rob could very well be B-. Practically everything successful he's done on TV has been an ensemble-cast show, never anything where he was *the* star (e.g., The West Wing, Brothers and Sisters, Parks and Rec). He hasn't been a lead (except for The Lyon's Den and Mr. Vegas, both of which failed miserably), and he hasn't been a name commanding huge bucks or advertiser love on any of these shows. Many actors with that kind of resume would easily be classified as C-list, but so many people know Rob's name because of: 1) his good-looking mug; and 2) the scandals he's created over the years.

Second, my reading of "...this almost A list television actress on a very hit network show who was a B lister back in the day when this happened..." could be interpreted as this:

    A) "...this almost A list television actress on a very hit network show..." = Melissa Gilbert, who was almost A-list while she starred on Little House from 1974 to 1983, but never really hit A-list because--while VERY popular--she was not the only "star" of her show, never commanded the best salary, and never won any major awards.

    and

    B) "...who was a B lister back in the day when this happened..." = Melissa Gilbert, who started seeing Rob Lowe in 1981, toward the end of LHOTP's run and its decline in popularity (as well as her slide down to definite B-list), which she was never able to match again with TV or film success, and who is likely permanently B-list just because of LHOTP.

So, I think cdanluva nailed it. I just don't wanna think about Half-Pint giving BJs to random guys while her dude watches... o.0

    ReplyDelete
  62. But blankprinces....what franchise(s) was Rob in?

And hasn't he already written a book? To me this implies it's a manuscript for a new book seeking a publisher.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Mathew lillard and neve Campbell.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I had forgotten how many movie franchises there were out there, but this site might help in narrowing down the blind actor and actress:

    http://www.the-numbers.com/movies/series/franchises.php

    ReplyDelete
  65. RQ- Austin Powers

    ReplyDelete
  66. @lunabelle - what two big hit shows has Matthew Lillard been on in the last few years? I went to school with ML, and don't see this being him.

    ReplyDelete
  67. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Oh, I want to know this one! This is juicy!
I like the Rob/Melissa guess so far, but like blankprincess, don't want to think of Half Pint that way. lol

    ReplyDelete
  69. Other broken engagements,
    Julia Roberts and Keefer Sutherland
    Brad Pitt and Goopy
    Demi and Emilio Estevez

I dont think any of them fit the franchise films though.

    ReplyDelete
  70. I guess I just don't see the Rob Lowe thing because his book is great. And critics agreed. Knowing that why would Enty say that it was crap.

Second, he is still doing movies. He was in Thank You for Smoking, The Invention of Lying and he has a handful coming out this year and next.

I'm sorry, sure he can be classified as maybe B list based of his resume, but he was a freaking Brat Pack-er. They ALL have B+/A list name recognition. His name isn't known because of his scandals. His name is known for the same reason Emilio Estavez, Molly Ringwald and Anthony Michael Halls are. They don't do too much at all anymore but ANYONE older than like 25ish knows these names hands down. Rob Lowe could quit acting altogether and still have that name recognition.

If you look back at revealed blinds other actors classified as B- include: Tyrese Gibson, Josh Hartnett, Mark Salling, Johnny Galecki, and Brian Van Holt. I just cannot agree that Rob Lowe belongs in a category with these guys. Not after a 20 year career that includes being a member of the Brat Pack.

    ReplyDelete
  71. @AnotherAmy - Emilio was in the Mighty Ducks franchise.... but demi woudldn't fit.

After looking at the other B- ranked actors I still think we are shooting too high. lowe, baldwin, keaton, goldblum etc. those guys just aren't in the same league them

    ReplyDelete
  72. I was thinking Hank Azaria and Helen Hunt but is this a recent blind?

    ReplyDelete
  73. James Woods and Heather Graham?

    ReplyDelete
  74. Matthew Perry and Lauren Graham? He did the Whole 9 Yards & Whole 10 Yards...
She was on Gilmore Girls, now on Parenthood...

    ReplyDelete
  75. For some reason, Steve Guttenburg comes to mind but I don't know that he fits the TV part.

    ReplyDelete
  76. I thought of Steve Guttenburg too!

Alas, I don't think he fits. Other than DWTS, he has only had guest appearances on TV shows. Also, I don't think he's had a well-known fiancee.

    ReplyDelete
  77. This is Rob Lowe. A manuscript is a rough draft of a book, which means certain parts will be edited out later for different reasons.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Pam Anderson and everyone?

    ReplyDelete
  79. Hi long time lurker, first time posting. How about Emilio Estevez and Demi Moore.

    ReplyDelete
  80. The way I read it was that the manuscript is floating around now and has not yet been released in book form - to me that takes Rob Lowe out of the running because his book is already out. However, I can still see this being him because I said, after he was on Oprah, that SOMETHING is up with this guy. He must have some darkness somewhere, NOBODY is that perfect! *L* I was thinking more along tne lines of "serial killer", but "sexually manipulative coke fiend" works too.

I get the feeling this is someone who rose to fame in the 80's. Don't know why.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Back to the Future - Michael J. Fox (Spin City & Family Ties being the TV show). Courtney being the actress...though I think he was already engaged to Tracey Pollan by the time Courtney came along. He dated Jennifer Gray...but other than that, I don't know.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Back to the Future - Michael J. Fox (Spin City & Family Ties being the TV show). Courtney being the actress...though I think he was already engaged to Tracey Pollan by the time Courtney came along. He dated Jennifer Gray...but other than that, I don't know.

    ReplyDelete
  83. I completely agree with Blankprincess' interpretation of A list and B list.
Rob Lowe is not an A list actor - he may have A list name recognition - but he has not solely carried a successful film, and he has not won a significant award.

    ReplyDelete
  84. I totally agree with cdanluva and Blankprincess, especially BP's well-crafted analysis. Rob Lowe and Half-Pint FTW.

    ReplyDelete
  85. What about Scott Baio ?

    ReplyDelete
  86. how do we find out who it is?? please let me know, ty :+)

    ReplyDelete
  87. Anonymous10:23 AM

What about that Robocop guy? I think he was a coke head? "Been on two very big hit shows in the last few years." - he was on Dexter and 24. I don't know if was engaged. I'll Google it later.

    ReplyDelete
  88. This one is killing me now. Here's a list of movie franchises to reference but it's not really helping me.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Oooh, AvecGuy. Peter Weller from RoboCop used to be engaged to Sela Ward.

    ReplyDelete
  90. But was Peter Weller ever close to A-list? I kind of doubt it.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Anonymous10:28 AM

Yea, Peter Weller! Robocop was pretty big back in the day. How crazy would it be if the woman was Sela Ward!

    ReplyDelete
  92. I think you just solved it! Sela is on CSI. It ALL finally fits.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Steve Guttenberg and Yasmine Bleeth LOL

    ReplyDelete
  94. I like the Peter Weller guess but would most people know his name?

    ReplyDelete
  95. @ JW- I agree. It's a good guess, but I went to Syracuse U., where Peter Weller actually was an art history prof. Yes, the same Peter Weller. I'd say at least 60% had no clue who he was until told and they looked him up.

    ReplyDelete
  96. I couldn't pick Peter Weller out of a lineup. Name recognition? Sorry, it doesn't fit. I pay attention to entertainment (except reality TV), and I have no idea who he is.

    ReplyDelete
  97. I think again, the name recognition thing is subjective. First, I think Enty is showing his age with this one. Younger generations, no, will probably not know him by name until you say Robocop. But my parents both knew instantly who he was when I asked them (I happened to be on the phone with my mom) because he was real popular for a few years there with Robocop and then plummeted.

For as well as everything fits, the franchise, two tv series, was engaged so someone who is now on a very hit network show..... I think the opinion based items such as 'would people recognize his name' are going to have to be taken lightly. No one knows how Enty would see these people in HIS eyes. He may think "Its Robocop... who wouldn't know Robocop?"

    ReplyDelete
  98. Peter Weller fits everything except for the name recognition thing. Everyone knows "Robocop", very few would know the name of the actor who played him. It.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Check out this link:

    http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/31174705/ns/today-today_people/t/little-house-star-reveals-her-life-fast-lane/

I mean, it sounds like the entire relationship between Melissa Gilbert and Rob Lowe was fueled by Cocaine, Alcohol, sex and infidelity.

I just don't see this for Robo cop.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Enty said in his clues today that as of 7:30 this morning no one had even touched upon it. The Rob Lowe guess was from yesterday. Its offically been discounted.

I'm still looking into franchise stars, but Robocop is the only one where every resume piece for him and her fits... aside from the a/b list, name recognition factors. I'm in no way opposed to new guesses.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Has Michael J Fox been discounted? Spin City and Family Ties as the shows. Stuart Little and Back to the Future as the Franchise Films. Been on two very big hit shows in the last few years could be The Good Wife, Rescue Me or Boston Legal.

    Parkinson's disease affects memory.

The actress is SJP as I think New York Apartment is a clue.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Rowan Atkinson and Leslie Ash

    ReplyDelete
  103. @BigMama - The MJF thing is actually interesting because there are studies that show cocaine use can lead to Parkinson's later in life. But the blind says the two TV shows were in the past few years, which is what crumbled my MJF theory.

Another thing about Peter Weller - he IS new york based. Came to NYC after college, started in Broadway, lived there throughout the 80s at least and is still in the state since he teaches sometimes at Syracuse. He is still managed by Bill Treusch who is in NYC. SO MUCH fits him, except the name recognition piece.

    ReplyDelete
  104. @BigMama- Sorry my computer glitched. I didn't see the last part of your post about The Good Wife, Rescue Me, etc. My bad :-)

    ReplyDelete
  105. @ BigMama, I was thinking last night that SJP was the actress in question, too. I wonder if you're on to something.

    ReplyDelete
  106. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Tate Donovan and Jen Aniston? I do not think that JA fits the female description as almost A list TV actress tho anymore. Do you think?

    ReplyDelete
  108. Oh, TD was voice for Hercules franchise.

    ReplyDelete
  109. @Susan @Bnl1016 they dated at the height of MJF's career.

It's the network show that doesn't fit.

The pretty much stayed with television part. That made me think he started on TV and then went back.

I'm re-reading this and I'm not sure it fits.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Macauley Culkin and Mila Kunis?

    Jeff Goldblum?

    Patrick Dempsey?

    Chris Noth?

    ReplyDelete
  111. I'd say Zane and a witchy friend but was there ever a ring

    ReplyDelete
  112. Dagnabit! I really thought we were on track with this yesterday! Ah well, back to the drawing board...

    ReplyDelete
  113. I so want this to be Goldblum because like James Woods, they claim to be so intelligent yet date barely legal little girls...still. They both seem to be incredible control freaks and only little girls or a damaged individual would allow themselves to be treated like the blind item girl/woman.

Neither really fits the description but I really had to get this off mu chest. They both piss me off in there treatment of women!

Did Laura Dern date both of these tools in addition to Billy Bob? Damn, she has super bad taste in men!

    Sorry went a little off topic there ;

    ReplyDelete
  114. Not Scott Speedman and Keri Russell since he's not been in any TV lately. I want another clue!!!!!!!! This is buggin me.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Elijah Wood and Melissa Joan Hart?

    ReplyDelete
  116. I'm coming out of a lifetime of lurking for my first guess ever....

(Ordinarily, I read other people's guesses and wonder how people come up with plausible answers when I had NOTHING. This time, I thought of a couple people right away that no one else has mentioned, so I guess it's time to finally post something.)

To me, Christian Slater or James Spader could both fit the actor clues, and Christian Slater dated Christina Applegate in the 90s and she seems to fit the actress clues. Not necessarily right but maybe worth considering.

And by the way, everyone, hi!

  117. I can't believe no one has guessed Chevy Chase. He was the star of the National Lampoons and has been on Chuck and Community recently. "New York apartment" fits as well. No idea about the actress, though it could be anyone from the late 70s/early 80s.

  118. Elijah Wood hasn't been on two very big hit TV shows in the last few years. Christian Slater and James Spader don't have a movie franchise they've starred in and both have pretty deep bios. Our blind item guy sounds like he has a light resume. But good thinking!

  119. I agree with yesthatwouldbeme on the Kunis/Culkin guess

  120. Only prob would be everyone guessed prior to 730a was ruled out and MCulkin was a guess from yesterday. Plus he hasn't done two very big hit shows on TV lately.

  122. Charlie Sheen (Major League and Scary Movie franchises, Spin City and Two And A Half Men hit shows) and Teri Hatcher (Lois And Clark, Desperate Housewives)

  123. Chris O'Donnell was engaged to Minnie Driver...

  124. They were in Circle of Friends together, but I cannot find any actual relationship outside that film. Maybe you're thinking of Matt Damon, John Cusack or Josh Brolin, not Chris O'Donnell.

  125. This is a stretch but Julie Bowen and David Spade? I think she fits, he almost fits but was he in a franchise?

  126. I'm going with Judd Nelson and Shannen Doherty!

  127. David Duchovny (X Files film/telly franchise) and Sheryl Lee of Twin Peaks fame.

  128. I agree with Charlie Sheen... He fits the actor. He was briefly engaged to Kelly Preston (could be A-list by name recognition) but doesn't work very much any more.

I could also see Chevy Chase but I don't know who the woman would be!

    I'm very stumped.

  129. The answer is Joshua Jackson...

Starred in Film Franchise: Mighty Ducks

Network TV Series: Dawson's Creek & Fringe

Seriously Dated TV Series Co-Star: Katie Holmes (who we know can be manipulated)

  130. The answer is Steve Martin and Anne Heche. The clincher for me is the end, where the clue states the actress was looking for a "different lifestyle". Everything else seems to fit.

  131. What about Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan?

  132. Freddie Prinze Jr! He was in I Know What You Did Last Summer movies and the Scooby Doo movies, plus he was had a recurring role on Boston Legal and 24. Finally, he was engaged to actress Kimberley McCullough!
