Tanya Kach Writes A Book

You might not remember Tanya Kach. It seems to me her story was lost in the shuffle of everything else that was going on back in 2007 when she was discovered. Tanya had been missing for ten years when she confided in a store owner who she was and the owner called police and Tanya was rescued. For ten years she had been living in the bedroom of a security guard from her high school. She had confided in him about the problems her parents had been going through and he invited her over one day and never let her leave. The security guard lived at home with his parents and they swear that for ten years they never knew Tanya was there. Uh huh. Tanya has a book coming out which recounts everything that happened. She says she was a sex slave for ten years, was only allowed to shower once a week and usually ate only peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. The security guard is actually getting out of jail in a few months. The guy is only having to serve about four years. To me, if you have someone kidnapped for ten years how on earth do you get released in just four? That seems way short.

Tanya also says she still does not get along with her father who says he does not believe his daughter and that she probably enjoyed living like that. WTF? Yeah, she enjoyed using a bucket in a closet as her toilet for ten years. Must have been a real laugh a minute.

  1. That is absolutely INSANE. And what kind of father is he to say some crap like that. What a scumbag loser.

  2. Stories like this are so messed up. As IF his parents didn't know there was another person living in their home for TEN years. And yes, 4 years is way too short.

  3. Her father's response is despicable! What kind of a sadistic sonofabitch says that about his own kid?

  4. WTF? How is he getting out already?

And triple WTF on her dad! My dad would have to be restrained from killing the SOB, not publicly blaming me.

  5. I saw a news video about this story. That house wasn't very big. If fact, it looked borderline run-down and a street with houses very close together. How the heck do you not know someone is living upstairs in a house that size? She could hear the parents talk through the heating vents and they never heard her??

  6. His parents knew she was there, they're just refusing to believe their little baby boy would ever do such a thing.

I have no faith in humanity anymore.

  7. Me, the perp, his parents and HER parents (Dad, anyway) in a sound-proof concrete room with some chairs, some chains and some rusty tools. That is all.

  8. His parents are lying to protect him or are in big time denial. I don't know anything about this case but I feel really sad for her especially since her dad is such a dick.

  9. I saw her on Dr. Phil. I do believe her story, but there are so many odd things about his parents.

She watched TV with headphones. I can always hear a TV on, even if the sound is down.

Did the parents never ever go upstairs? Was the bedroom padlocked?

His teenage son never metioned it to anyone?

  10. Did this girl ever cough, sneeze or get sick in the 10 years she was held? A person cannot be that quiet.

  11. It doesn't take long for a person to become psychologically dependent on their captor. That is why people taken in this way will often stay quiet even when they have opportunities to escape. All these stories do make me tell my husband exactly what I am doing, just in case something happens. He is away half the time working, so we talk every day and I make sure he knows what I am up to.

  12. Yeah feraltart, I do too. My husband works an hour away and is gone a lot. I even showed him my running route in case I go out and don't come back, so he knows exactly which way I went.

  13. I know of other stories (sadly) similar to this, but I find it difficult to believe know one heard her even walking across the room, let alone having sex. Something doesn't sound right with her story/\.

  14. Ahh, this is like that book "Room" only not a garden shed and no kid.

I know it doesn't work like this but shouldn't the kidnapper get AT LEAST 10 years in prison? WTF?

The dad is an asshole. I hope this girl gets some therapy and makes a ton off her book. I'd actually like to read it.

  15. Read Without Conscience by Robert Hare. It explains how people do this and also how they don't spend much time in jail. There are dangers in society, such as these men, we all need to be aware of and protect ourselves against.
