Milla Jovovich Slams Producers Of Three Musketeers

Milla Jovovich used her Twitter to slam Summit, which is the distributor of her latest movie, Three Musketeers. They are also the distributors of Twilight so Milla thinks that is where their heart is and why her movie got the shaft when it came to marketing.

I see her point. However, Three Musketeers has been open for awhile overseas and has done really well there. It did totally bomb here and makes her and Orlando Bloom look awful. That being said, I heard the movie was not that great to begin with and it is about the millionth time there has been some variation on this theme and it is old now. Plus, I am still waiting for them to give everyone free Three Musketeer candy bars when you go. How difficult would that be? I could use my supply increased. Had a bit of a drinking night last night and lets just say that my mom's Halloween candy took a big hit. I see several empty bags and about a hundred wrappers strewn over the floor this morning.

  1. I wonder if she thought this movie would make her a huge star instead of someone who only gets a role in her husband's films?

  2. Always a great idea to burn your bridges in Hollywood.

  3. I saw this Friday night. There were 8 people in the theater when we arrived, and it was only twelve by the time the movie started. It was a good movie -- lots to look at, lots of silliness, lots of French imagery.

  4. How many times are they gonna make a 3 Musketeers movie?

I saw the one from the 90s ... I was hepped up on goofballs from dental surgery ... that was enough for me.

  5. Didn't they change the chocolate in Three Musketeer's ten or so years ago to some fake plastic tasting stuff?

  6. That's why I don't buy my Halloween candy until Oct. 31. I cannot say no to chocolate!

And the 3 Musketeers thing has been done to death. Although I might watch it to see Ray Stevenson, he's a hunkahunka man.

  7. The previews made it look bad.

  8. Saw it Friday but maybe Summit knew they had a bomb of a movie on their hands. It was horrible. Why didn't they just remake the book?

What's up with the annoying characters and flying pirate ships?

  9. I like that she called them out on the Twilight stuff. That makes me laugh lol!

I always forget you guys (Americans) call chocolate bars "candy bars". I think it's because it IS more candy than chocolate, right? Like .robert said, it's not actual chocolate or something? I don't know, I don't like Three Musketeers bars anyway...lol

  10. Almost nothing makes me sadder than knowing they remade The Musketeers again. What's next? Harold & Maude with Ruth Buzzi & Zac Efron?

  12. I think they did plenty of promoting for this movie - I saw the commercial a ton of times.

  14. Anonymous10:30 PM

The commercials for that movie have been playing non-stop. I love her but I'm totally not interested in ever seeing that movie.

@Jen. Agreed. Eat a Canadian or British chocolate bar, then eat its American equivalent. It's so waxy and not chocolatey at all. "Candy bar" makes me sad. I don't want to be bashing the States, I love the States, visited it this weekend, but they can't make a decent chocolate bar.

  15. @ Rickatoo - lmao at Ruth Buzzi and Zac Efron! Harold and Maude is one of my al time favorite movies and I cringe at the thought of a remake.

In the States, Hershey's is probably the most famous chocolate made here and it's like eating a brown candle. Very waxy. My nephews love the Cadbury bars their British gran sends them from the UK but don't like the American Cadbury bars at all. I do like Dove (Galaxy) chocolate but don't much care for the politics of the Mars family.

  16. and guess who directed Three Musketeers....Her husband..Paul W.S. Anderson.

I think Summit knew it was a bomb and wasn't going to sink more marketing money into it.

  17. I'm sick and tired of Muskateer and Robin Hood movies. enough already.

  18. Mmm Cadbury makes the best chocolate bars...Nestle and Hershey are practically inedible.
Also, count me as another one who is so OVER anything to do with the Three Musketeers (also a crappy choc bar)

  19. I really liked the movie and it was better than I thought it was.

Lots of preteen and teenagers in the theater who clapped at the end.

  20. it has to be becuase these novels are so old they fall into public domain and studios can exploit them over and over without paying a penny in royalties to anyone.

  21. I'm sorry but I've seen loads of adverts on TV for 3 Musketeers over the past few weeks so I call BS on Milla. The flick just looks like bad rehash with updated special effects so color me disinterested.

  22. I am so bummed because I have to travel on Halloween and I won't be home to hand out candy.

  23. As far as I'm concerned, it's Belgium or Swiss chocolate or nothing.

  24. Why does she keep putting Summit in quotations?

I honestly can't recall a trailer for this but hasn't this movie been made multiple times?
