Charlie Sheen Gets A New Show

It did not take Charlie Sheen long to sell another show to television. In fact, according to The Hollywood Reporter, three networks were fighting for the chance to air his new show Anger Management. It has the same title as the Adam Sandler/Jack Nicholson movie but it does not really sound the same. Charlie plays a guy with an anger management problem which sounds like a stretch acting wise doesn't it? His job though is to help other people with their anger management problems. It will start airing next year on FX.

I don't really need Charlie Sheen to get another show and be in my face every week. It is bad enough that Two And A Half Men appears to play on a 24 hour non-stop basis on every channel. Why should I reward a guy for being an a-hole who has threatened to kill his wife, does crazy amounts of drugs and booze and has sex with random porn stars.

  1. All I can say is, I won't be watching. It's too bad - I used to really like him in stuff like Major League, Hot Shots, etc.

  3. I keep wondering if this was him pulling a big Joaquin Phoenix on all of us... like if he wanted out of 2.5 men anyways and he and Lorne worked it all out to get them both as much publicity as possible...

All that money and he STILL looks filthy. I don't get it.

  5. Well, he's been pulling this shit for YEARS, and Two and Half Men was a big hit -- and all he did was play himSELF. The producers were too lazy to even change his character's first name.

People will tune in, just like people will keep kissing his ass on Twitter. It's so gross.

  6. It is going to be a hit. He is a teflon man, no matter how bad it gets, nothing sticks.

So if I understand correctly, committing career suicide means using the N word and/or bashing homosexuals or Jews but hitting and threatening women is A-OK. Fantastic.

  8. ^^Pretty much.

You can also torture dogs and go on to win "sportsmanship" awards. Don't forget about that.

  9. It IS unfortunate he doesn't do something more meaningful than another low brow sitcom. I liked him better in movies - maybe I can only handle him in small doses.

  10. the thing about hollywood is, people have learned that the worse you act in your personal life the better you sell. and if you sell you sell. people w/out scandals and bad behavior are rarely written about and are considered boring. money > morals. this shouldn't really be a surprise to anyone.

  11. I never liked Charlie... I remember being mad when he started getting more roles than Emilio (who I did like), thinking this guy's a douche, looks like a douche, must be a jackass in real life... he never made sense to me. The first time I watched 2 1/2 Men was when his freakouts started making the news. He's scary.

  12. @BNL1016 - exactly! I wouldn't have watched the show if he wasn't in the headlines.

  13. Did you guys see his appearance on The Tonight Show recently? The image rehabilitation has begun. Leno threw softball questions (of course) and Charlie was self-deprecating and didn't shy away from his sins. The audience was eating it up. Dude is coated in Teflon.

If a woman acted like he does she would never stay on a show let alone get a new one.

  15. this is why Denise Richards was trotting around town with him. Trying to make it seem all is well and good with the family.

    She needs a check too.

  16. Don't actors get paid to "act"? Why are you paying someone loads of money to be themselves? Idgi.

  17. There would be nothing to watch if every asshole that does drugs, drinks and hires pornstars lost their tv shows or movie deals.

  18. @Audrey, I disagree. There are recreational cokeusers and occasional drunks, sure, but then there's CHARLIE fucking SHEEN.

Again, he's beat up women, and hasn't had to answer for it -- and why should he, when he was the highest paid "actor" on television for years and years? Giving cash to women in exchange for sex is one thing, but physically harming them is a whole other level of egregious.

    Not *all* celebrities are dirtbags.

  20. Looks like Charlie beat Lorre in the end. His former show SUCKS, and he got a new gig. He is coated in Teflon.

  23. Charlie isn't winning anything in life, anything that matters that is.

Let's wait and see if Charlie's new sow has 9+ seasons or is canceled after 2 or 3 episodes.

A woman beater, a man who doesn't raise his kids, chooses drugs over work & family isn't winning. Money doesn't make you a winner.
