Just three weeks after delivering his final on air essay for 60 Minutes, Andy Rooney was hospitalized yesterday after developing complications following surgery. His condition was listed as stable but very serious. Andy Rooney had been on 60 Minutes for 33 years and on October 2nd, did his 1,097th episode of the show. He is 92 and anytime you have surgery at 92, it is always tough. I am going to miss him on the air and I hope that he gets better and gets to enjoy his retirement.
