Adele Is Out Of Commission Until The Grammy Awards
While hoping that rest of her voice would prevent the need for surgery, Adele has been informed she needs to have surgery and has had to cancel every date for the rest of the year, including just promotional appearances. She has had issues for the past 18 months almost constantly and hopefully this will get her on the road to recovery. The surgery and resulting rest period will likely mean that she will not perform live anywhere until the Grammy Awards which are in February.
I was so afraid this would happen to her after the year she's had. I hope the surgery doesn't change her voice. Best wishes for Adele.
ReplyDeletePoor baby, you take it easy..don't stress and come back even better if that's possible.
ReplyDeleteLapband. Surgery.
ReplyDeleteShe'll be thinned out. Trust.
This is just so bizarro to me. She is so young. Doesn't she have teachers who train her on how to use her voice properly? Look at all the heavy metal rockers who drank, smoke and totally abused their voices for years, never to need this shit done. I agree with About. Conspiracy theories abound for me regarding Adele's image....
ReplyDeleteHer voice is a gift from God and she shits on it by smoking.
ReplyDeleteHope she gets the message at 21 to knock off the smoking and take care of your body and voice.
Lapband? Ya think?
ReplyDeleteI wish we'd get a better pic of her! Pick a better one Enty!!
Part of me wonders if some sort of therapy is going to take place during this time. The woman has a massive case of anxiety and she may be trying to remedy that. I truly believe that's part of the reason why she smokes. The other reason is to keep off weight, I imagine.
ReplyDeleteIn any case, I hope she gets better soon.
Ignoring the (likely highly spurious) rumour that she has throat cancer (although I wouldn't discount it 100%), this voice issue has been going on for ages, which implies it's pretty serious.
ReplyDeleteWoah, lap band surgery? I never heard that!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm with Susan. Are we positive it's the smoking? What about all the other smoker singers?
Susan - I just started reading about her earlier this year. Apparently, she had just started working with a vocal coach to strengthen her cords, but I believe she was getting by on raw talent prior - much like rock singers. I totally get that, as I still have sensitivity issues even though I've been studying with various voice professionals since I was 12 and know how to properly breath and project, etc. etc. Some people just have very senstive vocal cords that have to be babied forever. That's why I can't for the life of me get why she's still smoking. Arrgh!
ReplyDeleteI think she's having some sort of breakdown and just needing time off in general.
