Today's Blind Items

This former A list singer who is now pretty much just a celebrity was being honored at an event recently. Just because you are being honored does not mean you cannot take a smoke break. The thing is that our singer took smoke breaks with her crack pipe. Yep. Three times that night, the singer joined others outside and wile they were smoking cigarettes, our singer smoked some crack. It is not like she has not been doing it for 20 years, it is just that it seemed out of place at an event designed to honor her.

  2. Oh dear Whitney. It's like she's given up even trying to hide it. Her poor daughter.

  3. yes, of course Whitney. If this is really Bobby's fault, he should be ashamed. But, of course, he doesn't keep the pipe glued to her hand.

  4. Well, honestly, if one cannot take a crack smoking break at the event honoring oneself, when CAN one take a crack smoking break?

  5. if this is whitney why bother making it a blind? i don't think anyone really EXPECTS her to stay sober.

  6. lol Christine!! "It's my party, I'll smoke crack if I want to..."

  7. I don't buy that this is Bobby's fault. He was on Wendy Williams several months ago, and he seemed to have it together. Whitney is just straight up an addict. Can you really blame anyone but the addict herself?

  8. Crack is whack! Crack is cheap! Show me the receipts!

  9. Christine, haha!

    Shitney.

  10. @ Ms. Snarky

Whitney was an addict LONG before Bobby Brown came into the picture, although her people will try and point the finger at Bobby. Being with him did nothing but take her addiction up a level. SHE is the only person to blame for the drug use.

  11. What Lady J said. Many MANY articles and friends have said that Whitney was doing drugs before Bobby came along. Together, they took it to another level. Why people continue to point the finger at Bobby is beyond me.

  12. Whit Whit. Such a huge talent...gone for forever.

  13. @Lady J: I met someone who claimed to know personally that what you said is true: that Clive Davis discovered her when she was a hard-core drug abuser, cleaned her up and propelled her to stardom, and that she was the driving force behind her and Bobby Brown's mutual descent into drug abuse. It's a sad story any way you look at it.

Whitney was always rumored to be an addict. Clive Davis did a great job of covering up for her and hiring handlers who knew how to keep their mouths shut.

It makes sense that she would be the driving force behind her and Bobby's downfall. She had all the money and could buy drugs whenever she wanted. Bobby had several kids requiring child support, other family members mooching from him, and his career had stalled by 1993. He had no income, Whitney did and bought the drugs.

I'll give Bobby credit in that he's been pretty honest about his drug use. Whitney stays in denial.

  16. I read from what seemed to be legitimate sources that Bobby was a drinker, but he didn't do the hard core drugs until Whitney introduced them to him. Mmm Hmm.

  17. Where was Whitney honored. I cant find anything since January.

  18. It's still sad. One of her songs came on shuffle last night when I was working and I was thinking, back then was there anyone that sounded as amazing as Whitney?

  19. I remember she was always so clean cut as a model in Seventeen magazine when I was growing up. Then she eventually got "discovered" for her singing ability. Did she get involved in drugs while she was modeling?

  20. Wow, Whitney looks so dewy fresh in her early vids, (like "How Do I Know") that it's hard to believe that she was an addict even then.

  21. I dunno- I am uncomforable with the whole idea of blaming Whitney for helping Bobby Brown descend into the downward spiral they both succumbed to....

I'll just say I dont think either people were ever good for one another and that as a little Jasmine my favorite singer ever was Whitney Houston- I thought she was like a magical princess with that amazing voice- and no matter how many times I see or hear about it, these blind item posts about her drug use still have the power to make me wince and be sad. She is a prime example that you can have all the beauty and a one in a million talent but if you dont honor and show some love to yourself- you can sink to the lowest form of living. And I think it's good to remember that.

  22. would anyone here say anything if this happened when you were there? i think i'd be to stunned to speak! if it was a stranger i would be afraid and lave. if it was a friend i'd try and reason with them. but at a dinner honoring a famous talent? i don't think i'd know what to do...(slink away?)

  23. @Me, If I were there and I were feeling particularly dramatic, I'd get the cops in. Imagine seeing Whitney Houston dragged kicking and screaming through a crowded auditorium!

  24. @Mango, Whitney was a model in the snort coke/stay skinny '80s. If she would've stayed in the modeling business, she probably would've been a Naomi Campbell/Kate Moss "functioning" druggie like them. But since she hit the bigtime jackpot with a big-money singing career & didn't have to physically & visually stay en pointe (Kate & Naomi who still get modeling work)it spiraled further out of control. Yeah, way before Bobby. He's mainly an alcoholic, anyway.
