I was thinking of Ziggy Stardust (and the Spiders from Mars), but I agree that Bowie is more of a solo deal. I can see him being a little anal and germphobic, for some reason, though -- which is ridiculous, considering how I don't know the man. He and Iman *could* be total slobs in real life.
Ozzy was in a little band called Black Sabbath. :-) This could be about him. He's certainly eccentric.
If Keith Richards became a germaphobe, I'll bet he'd die within 24 hours. His body is used to a steady diet of noxious fumes and various poisons -- I think there would be bad physical repercussions if he suddenly became addicted to, say, Purell. It would be HUGELY ironic.
Anyway, I associate him more with the sixties than the seventies.
What about Tom Petty? He's been married forever, he was huge in the seventies, and The Heartbreakers are still touring and recording -- not so sure about Ozzy and Black Sabbath.
Hmph. Peter Frampton is touring and as of June, he and his wife are divorcing. Could it be because she's tired of gargling? (Or maybe he doesn't love her way-ee-eeyay.)
It's Gene Simmons. Shannon might as well be considered his wife (definitely common-law) and for the sake of this blind it fits. (Also the word "KISS" appears in the second sentence of the blind). Can definitely see this appearing as an episode of Family Jewels with Shannon or one of the kids catching a cold and Gene walking around the house, Howie Mandel-style, spraying Lysol and groaning about how he is going to get sick, too and not watching to touch anything the sick family member has touched. Set your DVRs for A&E...
It's Gene Simmons. Drove him a few months back (I'm a chauffeur) and he was batshit crazy. Sat in the front seat and every time there was bump in the road he yelled "Pothole". Longest ride of my life.
Steven Tyler?
ReplyDeleteTyler isn't married.
ReplyDeleteDavid Bowie? Ozzy Osbourne?
Are Bowie and Ozzy considered in a band? I would consider them solo artists.
ReplyDeleteMarried...band mates...70's? mmmmmm
Nope, got nothing.

Gene Simmons didn't marry Shannon yet, so it can't be him. Iconic....could be Ozzy. There are still so many of them alive, amazingly. Keith Richard?
ReplyDeletelots of solo artists still have bandmates that they travel with on a regular basis, but I agree, this sounds like a long-standing band.
