The Michael Jackson Trial
That was some pretty disturbing stuff that went on in the trial yesterday to determine whether Dr. Conrad Murray was responsible for the death of Michael Jackson. After what I saw yesterday I am not sure this trial is good for anyone. What you see is a singer who is beaten down and desperately hooked on drugs. Every witness yesterday said that Michael was often incoherent and he is the one who was willing to pay $150K a month just so he could have Dr. Murray. I am guessing because Dr. Murray would give Michael the drugs he wanted. I think they are both at fault. Dr. Murray is a greedy guy who loved getting that much money for not doing much excepting feeding Michael drugs. In return he got cash and got to tell women he was Michael Jackson's doctor.
I think it's wrong that those deathbed photos are even released.
ReplyDeleteA friend in England said that they were on the front page of mainstream newspapers today. At least that's not happening in the U.S.
I did not need to see the picture. I think it's a cheap prosecution tactic, but I imagine the Jackson's gave permission. Papa Joe must have made something out of it.
ReplyDeleteAs a doctor, Murray was wrong, BUT, if it wouldn't have been Murray it just would have been some other doc. Michael could get whatever he wanted. Just like Elvis.
And in the end he got it just like Elvis.
If there's one thing I hate its seeing pictures of people on their deathbeds. Jesus. I don't need to see that!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat figgy said. Not cool.
ReplyDeleteyes, MJ is partly responsible. but this is what you don't understand:
ReplyDeletethis guy is a PHYSICIAN. he is supposed to do no harm. he's OBLIGATED to do no harm. he's far more responsible because he allowed an addict to DIRECT him to do things that furthered his addiction. that makes him guilty of the crime. no doubt about it. taking his license is a start, but what he did was criminal to me, and even worse because he knew better!!
he may not have been able to help michael, but he didn't have to do what he did----and he did it for money. that makes him the slime of the earth, IMO.
I'm not clicking on this for two reasons - chiefly because I am at work and also because I have no desire to see the death photos. While I agree that Michael would have found someone whether it was this guy or some other doctor, that still does not make feeding the addiction ok. I can't help but think that AS a doctor, he might have found a way to help Michael get off the drugs. However, I wasn't there and (Thank God!) I am not on the jury.
ReplyDeleteI personally think that it is good, in this day and age, that the prosecution did not sell out, and actually, sell the pictures of MJ on his deathbed. Nowadays everything if for sale.
ReplyDeleteAnd I do admit, if I were part of the prosecution, I would want the jury to see the final picture of MJ's body, and how his sickly thinness could easily be the result of long-term drug addiction, and how it was impossible for him to perform without having vast amounts of drugs pumped into his sickly poor body.
Dr Murray should have respected his noble vocation, and quickly forced MJ into rehab. As all doctors should do instead of selling out.
I'm still surprised how long it took this case to finally make it in front of a jury.
The thing that gets me is that his defense is that Michael was such an addict that he administered the propofol to himself. Even if that is true, shouldn't any doctor know not to leave an addict alone in a room with drugs?
ReplyDeleteWell said, califblondy.
ReplyDelete*shudder*
ReplyDeleteThe pictures and the audio recordings.
*shudder*
Thats all I have to add :(
I've assisted at giving propofol in a hospital setting. It should NEVER leave a hospital!!!!! He (Dr. Murray)has to pay the price for just doing that. So Michael would have found another MD to do it? So what?! Although I don't have a whole lot of sympathy for MJ - a drug addict is a drug addict and is responsible for that addiction, no matter how rich or talented.
ReplyDeleteI once received propofol during a D & C in a hospital - it really is a great drug. You wake up with no hangover and feeling very refreshed. But there's no way I'd have it without being in a hospital with an anesthesiologist and a code team somewhere in the hospital.
I thought the audio was seriously, seriously disturbing. He didn't even sound human, it sounded like a super-slowed-down recording.
ReplyDeleteThis guy is responsible.
For all you conspiracy theorists on this site: check out usahitman.com/mj-death for a list of conflicting information and odd ocurrences surrounding the death of Michael Jackson. Very interesting read.
ReplyDeleteMaybe I read too many conspiracy theory websites, but I really get the feeling there is a lot more to this story than what we're told here. The whole thing just creeps me out.
ReplyDeleteDamn, Robert, you just caused me another afternoon of not getting anything done!!! *L*
ReplyDelete@Maja.: Believe it or not, I thought of you when I posted that! I know you're interested in the conspiracy theories, and that site has LOTS of them, on many, many subjects. Happy hunting!
ReplyDeleteAs it turns out, that site won't open on this computer (which is probably a good thing) - but I really do love that kind of stuff and will definitely read it later! Thank you :)
ReplyDeleteThe point about being THE PHYSICIAN is that YOU control the drugs, NOT the patient. Especially a known addict.
ReplyDeleteAnd I am DUMBFOUNDED at the idea of anesthesia outside a hospital. Murray wasn't even WATCHING the whole time. No wonder MJ died.
I feel sorry for his many baby-mommas who will lose support, but the 'Doctor' deserves a long, long sentence for this.
Oh Robert, feeding my conspiracy-loving mind. Thanks for the website. I'll have fun reading over the next few days.
ReplyDeleteWhile I believe MJ shares in a lot of the blame for his own death, the doctor is also responsible for what others have said - he's a doctor and if even had an idea that MJ was an addict he had a duty to not continue providing him drugs - much less a drug that is not supposed to be administerred outside of a hospital without proper monitoring equipment.
ReplyDeleteOh and as to the deathbed photos - the family wouldn't need to give permission to the prosecutors to use them. It is considered evidence.
ReplyDeleteThe deathbed photos didnt do it... but the audio sure did- I'll admit it, I did tear up while listening to them.
ReplyDeleteWOW
I didnt expect to have any more emotion attached to MJ- its been 2 yrs after all and I didnt know the guy personally of course- but listening to any obviously tortured, addicted person speak that incoherently and helplessly....it was fucking intense.
This man ought to be deeply deeply ashamed and punished for this---one listen to the audio and you can tell this person is unable to make any rational decions and is obviously relying on whomever is there to take care of him.
really really sad and just tragic. (and is reminding me way too much of the circumstances surrounding Elvis dying and what led to his death)
*This man refers to Dr Conrad, and the person on the audio meant obviously MJ
