Wow, you know what, LeAnn Rimes just loves to step into controversy. If people say her body is too skinny then she takes a million photos of herself and Tweets them to the world which just proves the point she is skinny. I also have wondered why Eddie Cibrian never takes any of these photos. Have you asked yourself that question? Does he not like to look at her all that closely?
Anyway, now LeAnn has taken to her blog to talk about how in her house, the boys call her mom because that is the way she likes it. "Society will always call me a stepmom... but in our house, in our family, we remove the 'step.'"
Later she does say that the boys already have a mom and she is not looking to replace their mother, but I kind of get the feeling that she would be happiest if Brandi Glanville would just disappear and not return.
I am a nearly 47 year old stepdaughter of a lovely woman (she's had the "stepmom" title for nearly 40 years) and if she EVER insisted on being MOM over my own mother, it would have caused Hell to freeze over. LeAnn needs to get a grip. That is so inappropriate, I don't even know how to respond!

ReplyDeleteJada Pinkett tried to pull the same crap with Will Smith's son until his mom pulled the plug. Pinkett instructed the boy's school to list his mother by her maiden name, not by "Smith." The ex made Pinkett step off -- but Pinkett included the incident in the TV series she and Will produced about divorce-and-remarriage-with-kids.Classy.

I think that LeAnn has watched the "Single White Female" movie way too many times. She has so tried to replicate Brandi in a hundred different ways down to the super skinny body, boob job and same wedding dress designer. It is comical. I am a Stepmother and the two girls call me by my name. I would NEVER let them call me Mom/Mother. They have a Mother. I do refer to all four of them as our children. We go to great pains to be as equal as we can be with all of them.

My take was that she was saying that she might be a "step"mom in the eyes of society but in the family, there is no distinction and she treats them as her own. ReplyDeleteNo, making your stepkids refer to you as mom is BS. If you have a good mother, you shouldn't be made to call another woman mom. If it's a death or bad-mom situation, that's different but otherwise it's f'd up for the kids. I am also the stepdaughter of a lovely woman, but I have a mom and I wouldn't disrespect her by giving someone else the title.

If you guys read the blog she says the boys call her "Le" not "mom." There's no need to make up reasons to dislike her, she gives plenty of them on her own.

ReplyDeleteAnd, I think it depends on the situation, but I have friends whose steps call them "mom", but in that situation the bio mom is not worthy of the title, so IMO it's ok.
What I want to know is if LeAnn/Eddie watched RHWOBH together. ;)

ReplyDeleteI agree with the point that she doesn't make them call her mom. This is a disjointed post. She's pretty sad all the way around (just seems like she lives to please Eddie) but accusing her of this, that's not right.
And please, Brandi is only ON television because of the Eddie/LeAnn stuff. She should send Le an edible arrangements basket as a thank you.
Okay, I never thought I would defend LeAnn Rimes, but...did anyone read the whole blog post? She clearly states that the boys call her Le. Duh! Her point is that she has embraced these children and loves them. For all the bad things we could say about her, shouldn't we commend her for being a good stepmother? Jeez.
