Kim Delaney Should Lay Off The Booze

Army Wives actress Kim Delaney has had some problems with booze before and went to rehab back in 2003. She needs to go again if this speech she gave last night is any indication. She gave the speech as part of a tribute to the Defense Secretary and had to be escorted off the stage. It is not like she had to do anything but read a script and really could not do that. I am anxious to hear the explanation on this one. This is the longest two minutes ever. It is painful to watch.

  1. Wait, does that mean that she's an earlier BI?

Very self destructive of her, loved her as an actress, but her drinking has before gotten in the way of her career.

  2. Wow. A complete mess. I couldn't watch the whole thing, it was too much.

  3. It got even worse near the end. I hope she gets help.

  5. DAMN I wish I had sound at work! Is this the same Kim Delaney from Desperate Housewives?

  6. Maybe she was really broken up over AMC going off the air today and she just had a strong memory flashback of being Jenny?? Ya .. didn't think so either!

Countdown to rehab announcement in five .. four .. three .. two ..

  7. Oh Jenny...

Maybe she just needs reading glasses? Ha.

I like the attitude of the woman who came out for her, she's like "oooookay hon, riiiiight this way riiiiiight now...."

  8. Very sad.

    Dana Delaney was on Housewives.

Kim is on that military wives show, was on NYPD Blue and started on All My Children back in the 80s

  9. Don't forget M.A.S.H. in the 70s! or did I out loud state how freaking old I am?

  10. wow. Sad. She looked strung out on Hay-ron to me.

  11. It was hard to watch. She's a mess. Even drunks know when public speaking isn't a good idea. I hope she gets help ASAP. I don't who I feel more sorry for, Kim or the headset lady who had to lead her off stage?

  12. MSNBC - for those who have TV access - is going to be talking about the story in a short while here .. before the top of the hour.

  13. Patty - ah thanks! I knew I wasn't quite right. NYPD Blue, I remember now.

  14. Maybe it's just me, but it looked like she was having trouble reading the teleprompter, more than anything else.

  15. Why did they let her be there in the first place.

  16. I agree, looks like the teleprompter was giving her trouble. They made this look a lot worse than it should've been by escorting her off stage mid presentation.

    She is still gorgeous.

  17. She does look a little dazed, and I have no doubt she has her troubles, but if I just watched the video without reading the story, I would just think she couldn't read the teleprompter. I also agree that cutting her off in the middle of the speech was worse than just letting her continue.

  18. Ya....I'm actually going to go with Oxy or a Xannie-bar. Maybe with booze...but I'm leaning more toward strong opiate. Drunks are usually much louder but both slur.

  19. I just saw her on The View and she looked fine. WTF is this?

  20. I feel bad for her. She has been doing well (that we know of) and hate to see a public back slide spoil all the good time she has put in.

    Good luck to her.

  21. It's sad she was really going to have a great career, but the booze got in the way...

  22. I disagree that she looked fine or that it was worse to escort her off the stage instead of letting her finish. I don't care what political party you are: this was a tribute to a former U.S. Secretary of Defense. You've got an unkempt disoriented rambling B- or C-list celeb there doing the introduction to a tribute to the former leader of the military and this is in any way shape or form acceptable? Sorry. No. Just, no.

  23. She's in Army Wives on Lifetime.

  24. I think she had trouble reading the teleprompter...because she was HIGH AS SHIT. Sad, very sad :(

  25. Yikes. I couldn't finish watching. And I agree with those who said that usually when someone has a case of the drunks, they know better than to attempt to speak in public!! Especially when a teleprompter is involved!

  26. I've seen a teleprompter problem, and that, friends, is no teleprompter problem.

  27. I saw her too on The View today and she was a bit glassy eyed and disheveled. Sorta not there.

I'm sorry for her - but she's back on the $hit. If she ever got *off* it.

  28. Wow that was just very sad.

  29. The saddest part was the smiling at inappropriate times, like when she talked about her best friend's son dying.

  30. Do celebs still check themselves into hospitals for "exhaustion"? Kim looks mighty exhausted in this clip.

  31. she sounds just like me when i used to be drunk and thought i could talk, but really couldn't.

bless her heart. back to rehab, sweetheart.

  32. She didn't sound drunk, so I agree with the poster above who said oxy's (probably mixed with a bit of booze). Poor thing. How embarrassing for her, but if it gives her the kick needed to get back to rehab, then it is a good thing.
