Go To Jail And Get A Reality Show
Lindsay Lohan is probably sitting at home right now, drunk, and plotting her next theft and wondering how T.I. can spend time a year in jail, come out, and get a reality show all in one day while Lindsay spends her life in the court system but can not get a reality show or any show. The difference is no one can stand working with Lindsay. As much trouble as T.I seems to get himself in, at least people like working with him and he does have talent, which is another thing that Lindsay seems to have lost. It does kind of tick me off that somehow in America we find it ok to reward bad behavior, which is what VH-1 is doing by giving T.I. a reality show. They are essentially saying that drugs and guns are fine as long as you are a celebrity and we will have money waiting for you when you get out.
Have sex, get a reality show. Do anything, get a show. Ugh.
ReplyDeleteThere's a show called PARKING WARS.
ReplyDeleteAnd it takes place in a PARKING GARAGE. And people WATCH IT.
Anything is achievable nowadays, I guess. Reach for the stars, mediocre people!
I *do* like T.I., though. *shrugs*
Ida, i've seen that on the Tv guide and never, ever had the curiosity to even know what it was about. It sounds so stupid.
ReplyDeleteIf only Andy Warhol knew how right he would be.
Yeah, but Enty. It's VH1. That seems to be punishment enough.
ReplyDeleteThe dumbing and demoralization of America. Truly sad.
ReplyDeletehaha, Ida, I've actually watched that before (my husband had the remote!!) :)
ReplyDeleteI have a bit of a crush on T.I., so I'm ok with this. I don't really know about the comparison to Low-Lo. I mean, she has had AMPLE opportunities AND been offered reality shows.
I don't even see a reality show saving her career at this point.
This idiot tweeted yesterday that "Da sun is out". I guess the word "the" is too difficult.
ReplyDeleteI am so sick of the rewarding of bad behavior.
I like TI so I am okay with him having a show. Besides, even though he does do stupid idiotic things, he does TRY to do right by educating and speaking out about the things he has done wrong.
ReplyDeleteLindsay continues to this day, to blame others for her problems. She is a sad pathetic delusional case who needs to fade into oblivion or be dropped off a cliff.
The difference is T.I. is likeable (and talented), and has always taken responsibility for his misdeeds and actually APPEARED contrite. That's a big difference between him and Lilo, and I hope he gets his shit together and it works out for him.
ReplyDeleteAlso, ahem, I once engaged in a marathon of parking wars, and I enjoyed it. It takes place at a lot where cars are towed (not a parking lot), and follows around people giving tickets and booting cars. The best parts are when people start screaming at the ticketers. Not bad at all.
And now I"m going to go listen to "Dead and Gone" with T.I. and Justin Timberlake. Yeah.
@Rocket Queen -- Your description of that show doesn't make it sound appealing in any way whatsoever. ;-)
ReplyDeleteIf I want to see a bunch of drivers scream at each other, I'll just mosey on up to D.C. and get on the Beltway.
I'm telling you! Watch a couple, you'll see ;)
ReplyDeleteOne has to also remember that T.I. is a rapper. Being arrested, holding guns, doing drugs, that's all part of having street cred. If T.I. was a clean cut regular guy, no one would buy his tracks. Besides, he has the kind of background (product of a single-parent home, bad role models who went to prison) that people like to excuse; while I know plenty of people who came from the same backgrounds and didn't do any of this, it's still convenient.
ReplyDeleteLohan, on the other hand, is a middle-class girl whose dad earned lots of money before heading to prison, and had a mom who took care of business. She's also an actress who hasn't been able to do what other drug addicts in the biz such as Robert Downey Jr. manage to do even when they were in the worst shape: Show up to the set on time; put in a hard day's work; and get along with everyone. All that, plus the fact that she can't even get bonded for work, and looks like she's been ran over by a '75 El Camino, means that she gets no jobs and no sympathy from anyone.
Again, a celebrity being rewarded for bad behavior. I can't just blame hollywood though...people will probably actually watch it, and the ratings will be high, just like the trash show Jersey Shore.
ReplyDeleteAs others said, the big thing for me is that T.I. freely admits what he did was wrong, and regrets his actions. Sure, that doesn't make him a saint, but it's a big step up from LiLo. Or someone like Chris Brown, who is all excuses for why everything wasn't really his fault.
ReplyDeleteWasn't LiLo offered a reality show a couple of years back but turned it down because she felt she was too good for TV? There are a lot of people in the entertainment industry (in fact, in EVERY industry) who manage to stay employed by taking ANY job that is offered to them and doing their best at it. We wonder why certain people do reality TV or DWTS, but the fact is, they're getting paid, and they're staying in the spotlight. You're not allowed to sit around and bitch about not having a job and then not take what is offered to you.
ReplyDeleteIf I were LiLo's manager, I would advise her to completely disappear for a year. Like, don't go to any events, don't get photographed, stay out of L.A...take some acting lessons, study, get a makeover, get serious about it. Then start auditioning for EVERYTHING. Accept small roles. Accept TV work. If someone wants to do a reality show following you around while you get your career back, do it. Don't whine. Don't complain. And stop it with the tanning!
lol Maja - can you IMAGINE Lilo ever agreeing to disappear for a year?!? Hahahahaha! Just the thought of it makes me laugh. Over her dead body (which will probably occur)
ReplyDeleteI like Maja. With a J.'s plan. But, LiLo won't ever do it and we will see her dead body before too long. Rocket Queen is right.
ReplyDeleteOh, forgot about TI. I am actually rooting for him as he does accept responsibility and man up so to speak.
ReplyDeleteOh, I know she'd never do it, she wants people to just automatically take her seriously and hire her for serious movies. I don't think she'll die though. She's like a human cockroach.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter and I watched a movie the other night with LiLo in it. She was knocked out for 3/4 of it and of course was topless. I saw better performances in the Prisons I worked in.
