16 & Pregnant Couple Arrested

This one is pretty sad. A couple from the first season of 16 & Pregnant, Joshua and Ebony Rendon were both arrested in Arkansas and charged with maintaining a drug premises and using another's property to facilitate a crime. I think that last charge is because they were living in military housing. Also added to the list are child endangerment, possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. Quite the list isn't it?

Well it gets worse. The couple lost their child to authorities who declared the living conditions in the home were deplorable. There was human and animal feces on the floors and the walls in every room. Not just one room, but every room. The house was filled with flies and maggots and three dogs were also taken away which were living inside the house. Joshua Rendon is in the Air Force and it was base officials who called in the police. What I want to know is this couple were living on the base and no one noticed until it got this bad? No one bothered to call the police or tell base officials before? In a close environment like the military I can't believe no one noticed.

  1. That's so sad. Sounds like either severe drug addiction or mental illness.

  2. How lazy do you have to be to have human feces in every room. Is using the toilet really that hard?

  3. Jesus. I just started watching Breaking Bad from the beginning and this reminds me of an episode with a methed-out couple living in a place that sounds just like this, with a starving kid wandering around the mess, just barely surviving. What the fuck is WRONG with people??

  5. How is he on drugs in the military? They have piss-tests!!I grew up military and then married military they don't play!!!If he was so messed up that his house was that bad, how did he get to work and act normal? All of my neighbors we all knew each other when we lived on base, visited each other. That is very strange. If someone was new, we went and introduced ourselves. Invited you to dinners, bbq's...

  6. It's stories like this that make me want to show them to people I know who keep posting on their FB page over and over and over about how each and every one of "our troops" is a "hero." Don't get me wrong, I was raised on military bases and I have a healthy respect for the military, but this recent hero worship of EVERY person who wears a uniform really gets to me, as if every day, each and every one of them sit around thinking, "How can I protect my God and my country today?" They are people, too, and there are many good ones and many bad ones. They are NOT all heroes! I think it diminishes the word "hero." End of rant. Ready to dodge tomatoes.

  7. RocketQueen, I've got a friend who is a cop in a specially-trained unit that makes meth raids. They have to wear special suits and are trained in how to gather evidence and quarantine the area and stuff like that. (I'm in TN, the number one meth state, so he gets lots of practice.) He has seen some really unspeakable stuff. He says once people are hooked and making meth, they don't care about ANYTHING. Not thier kids, their parents, their pets, nothing. The reason that feces was everywhere is that if the kids weren't potty trained, they were probably just going whenever and whereever, I doubt they were wearing any clothes at all. And if the poor things were wearing a diaper, I'm sure that it hadn't been changed in days. The stories my cop friend have told me make me just wish he could shoot these fuckers instead of wasting everyone's time arresting them. I know that's harsh, but that's how I feel. I have a special hatred for people who don't take basic care of their little kids.

  8. RJ - ah, that is fucking tragic. That whole episode I was just thinking ok fine, you can't take care of your kid, then GIVE HIM TO CPS or something and continue your shitty lifestyle. So WRONG to ruin someone else's life because you can't get YOUR shit together.

  9. I saw a picture and read that the place wasn't as bad as first reported. Messy yes, but not the all out pigsty.

True or false? IDK, I'm just throwing it out there.

  10. @nuna, I agree! There are plenty of genuine heros in the service, and then there are the ones who murder civilians (like we've seen several cases of lately) etc. Two VERY different groups of people and the former shouldn't have to share praise with the latter.

  11. RQ, I recently started watching Breaking Bad and saw that episode too. It was heart wrenching. This story totally reminded me of that.

  13. A teen couple who ended up in this kind of situation is unfortunatly probably not that rare---

kids need education and time to live their lives and grow into adulthood before they have kids themselves.

I think having kids too young is ripe with possibilities where shit like this is made more possible.

Not to get into it, but this is another reason why, if I had a 16 y/o daughter and she came to me pregnant, we'd be marching down to get that fetus aborted.

  16. I am sick to my stomach. I have 2 toddlers and it makes me cry to think of babies being mistreated. I would take them all in if I had the money.

  17. As an attorney who practices in the realm of child protective proceedings near a military base I'm not at all surprised. Some of the things I've seen coming out of military homes is down right horrific!
