What Is "Beyond Pornographic?"
Police in Aruba investigating the disappearance of Robyn Gardner say they found photos on Gary Giordano's camera of the woman which are beyond pornographic. They were also called graphic and disturbing. What exactly is beyond pornographic? What exactly was going on during this vacation? I bet right now The Enquirer and every other tabloid are trying to find any police officer in Aruba with access to those photos who wants to earn an extra few hundred thousand bucks. Police say the photos look like what she was doing was consensual. What was she doing? They won't say, which of course just leads to tons of speculation. Meanwhile, it was also revealed that Gary took the first steps to collect on the life insurance policy just two days after the woman disappeared. Oh, and the policy only covered accidents on this trip. Yep. She was definitely not coming home. Meanwhile the Aruba police are doing their usual horrible job. They said they are having a tough time tracking Gary's movements because he changed his toupee frequently. They are going to end up letting this guy go, but he will probably be arrested in the US because of that whole life insurance policy thing. The FBI is investigating it.
This must all be doing wonders for the Arubain tourism business. I mean, I know I don't want to go there ever again. I wasn't very impressed with it when I was there before, and I really don't want to go back now. By the way, when I was there before, my husband and I happened upon a couple in a car in an extrememly deserted beach area (we had just commented to each other what how creepy and spooky it seemed) where it was obvious that she was giving him some "oral attention". Given what I know about Aruba now, I wonder if anyone ever saw that chick again!! (I'm only half kidding.)
ReplyDeleteI don't know what's considered beyond pornographic, either?
ReplyDeleteI heard that she was completely drugged out on sleeping pills... sounds like he violated her in unimaginable ways =(
ReplyDeleteMaybe it was "snuff porn"?
ReplyDeleteA year or two ago the Israeli secret service apparently executed a terrorist in Dubai. Within hours the Dubai police had integrated video from the airport, hotel, stores etc to identify a dozen or so suspected agents and trace them back to false passports. Meanwhile the Aruba police can't handle toupees!
ReplyDeleteI've been to Aruba, had a great time..don't think I'm going back...
ReplyDeleteI've heard that it wasn't actually a life insurance policy, just one of those 15$ travel insurance policies that are offered to you when you book the trip, to cover any accidents that may happen while on the trip.
ReplyDeleteDaveB I remember reading that and being very impressed by the police...
ReplyDeleteAnd I have no idea what beyond pornographic means, since porn these days seems to involve so much violence and hatred already.
I just don't know what to make of this case.
ReplyDeleteI am very sad a person lost thier life, but sadly I have a feeling a lot more will come out about this whole thing.
And Aurba... I don't think I will ever be visting this location. one wrong move and it seems you are toast!
Snuff? S&M? Bondage? Cos-play? Just think of anything outside of the "normal" realm of regular porn. Foot fetishes? Foul.
ReplyDeleteIs that true about the toupee changing or was that a joke?
ReplyDeleteDaveb, you'd be surprised how much bribery can lower someone's IQ.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't be surprised if this sick fuck paid a little visit to Joran Van Der Sloot for tips.
oh dear god. Maybe it's just me, but "beyond" pornographic to me means kiddie porn or depictions of bestiality. Please be neither.
ReplyDeletenot sure if anyone mentioned this but the family of Robyn were on CNN and they said she knew this guy for 2 or 3 years and not just from online as everyone was reporting.
ReplyDeletemaybe it was ick nast scat play.
ReplyDeleteNatalie: The comment about the toupee changing is real. "Officers having been tracing the movements of Giordano in the hours before Ms Gardner's disappearance, but said they have had trouble identifying him in surveillance video because he frequently changes his toupees."

Un-fucking-believable.
Facial recognition software should get around the toupee problem since they look at multiple points on the face(unless, I guess, you only have shots of the back of the head).
ReplyDeleteThanks Shiny-S-O.. That seemed so ridiculous when I read it I thought maybe it was one of Enty's jokey lines.
ReplyDeleteDave, Aruba police are too busy trying to find out where the sun goes at night to worry about facial recognition software.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, "beyond pornopgraphic"? WTF?
ReplyDeleteThis Radar story is the only place I've seen a direct quote from someone who had seen the pictures. I guess some are "regular" naked poses but in others...
“You only see organs,” Julia Renfro, the editor-in-chief of Aruba Today said, explaining that it was unclear if the acts were consensual. “You don’t know if she is awake."

Yikes. This case is really starting to freak me out.
Organs?!! What the fuck!! Dude! Hey, um, Aruba police get your thumbs out of your asses and do your fucking jobs. Toupees, my ass.
ReplyDeleteI think organs refer to sexual ones, not a liver or what have you.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, "beyond pornographic" by Dutch standards? I don't think I want to know.
ReplyDeleteThat's how I took it, Sue Ellen, though the wording still made me shiver. As did the the sentence "You don't know if she is awake." One of the stories said witnesses said she looked "woozy" and "out of it" at a restaurant with him. Whatever the circumstances, whether she consented to whatever she was doing with him or not, she didn't deserve to die. I hope the poor woman gets justice.
ReplyDeleteThe whole thing is freaking me out. I think I need to spend the rest of the day on LOLCats or some other such silly, lighthearted nonsense.
When I saw this on the news, they said that Giordano had taken policies out for both of them, not just Robyn, with named beneficiaries. So although it is (highly suspicious), it may not be as sinister as it seems.
ReplyDeleteI also think it's very fortunate the police were able to get him before he left Aruba, and hopefully, they will be able to get to the bottom of this.
It was travel insurance and her Mother is the beneficiary.
ReplyDeleteBut no body has still been found, right? She might still be alive, really.
ReplyDeleteBeyond pornographic?
ReplyDeleteGraphic?
Disturbing?
Are we talking 'snuff' pictures? Extreme choking?Did he take pictures while killing her?
Just shove him out of the plane on the way home.
omg please. i've been going to aruba for 30 years. its one of the safest islands that i've ever been to. crime has been on the upswing since the started allowing immigrants to work there but as far as being afraid to go there? ppfft...lovely place, lovely people, super fabulous food.
ReplyDeletefirst thought was snuff film. horrible.
ReplyDeleteHahaha...toupees? Really? What bunch of morons!
ReplyDeleteWell, if it's a snuff film, then it couldn't reasonably called "consensual." Same as if she was visibly passed out. Now, if the only thing in the pictures were orifices and the things in them, then there is no way anyone could say that they were consensual or not, because you wouldn't be able to tell either way.
ReplyDeleteBut snuff, no. Only in the USA in death penalty cases are people who elect to die considered making reasonable, valid decisions.
