Today's Blind Items
This aging, but still good looking permanent B lister who has been nominated or won for almost everything has a real crisis management problem at this point. Shows the world he has a happy marriage. Been married for a very long time, but, despite all his affairs has never thought about leaving his wife. Until now. What makes this all the more bizarre is that the woman he is hot and heavy with is a daughter (not his) of a former co-star he had a fling with back when the daughter was just a few years old.

ReplyDeleteMy first thought was actually Kevin Costner -- aging, won a bunch of awards for acting and directing, and he's a married dude with a rep as a sleazebucket. Maybe had a fling with Susan Sarandon back when they filmed Bull Durham? Her daughter is Eva Amurri. It would fit the timeline.

And I *also* think that Warren is a permanent A-lister -- but I'm also beginning to care less and less about Enty's rankings, since they're SO arbitrary.

ReplyDeleteI like the Denzel guess. He has been nominated for almost everything he tried his hand on. Didn't he get nominated for a Tony award, Emmy, Oscar, Golden Globe? He has had a lot of affairs, got close to getting a divorce, but worked things out with his long-term wife.

Denzel has won two Oscars and still opens movies. He's hardly B list.

ReplyDeleteI like the Costner guesses, but just to throw a couple of completely different names out there, how about Rob Lowe (didn't he and Demi have a fling back in the Brat Pack days, maybe messing around with Rumor?)or Pierce Brosnan. I don't have any guesses for the mother/daughter duo with Brosnan, but he's aging well and has been working for a long time.

ReplyDeleteIt's not Warren Beatty (permanent A list), Denzel (A list, has won oscars but not nominated or won for "everything"), Kevin Bacon (not enough or no noms/wins) and same for Pierce Brosnan. Kevin Costner on the other hand - didn't he win like 7 Oscars for Dances with Wolves, as he was involved with almost every level of production as well as starring. He was A list until Waterworld & The Postman, never will be A list again, but probably can also never be below a B. 7 years of marriage is a long time in Hollywood. I think that's a good guess.

ReplyDeletecallywally - Eva was born in 1985, Bull Durham was released in June 1988 and Susan had her first son with Tim Robbins in May 1989. Since the movie was presumably shot six months to a year before release Susan wouldn't have been pregnant during production but would have had a daughter "just a few years old" at the time.

Eva Amurri & Susan Sarandon fit for Costner, but Eva just got engaged in December. Not that it would matter per se, just that perhaps the blind would have mentioned something about that.

I think you're right, Amelia Vee. Al Pacino has won an Oscar, Emmys and probably Tonys as well. Can't lose. Plus I could see him being assigned to the B list since he does more cable tv shows these days and can't "open" a movie on his own.

I've read that people are attracted to others with similar facial features of themselves and family members. I can forgive Rob Lowe for knowing he's pretty because he IS soooo pretty.
