Noooooooooo - A Hills Movie
That loud sound you just heard was Speidi realizing they might get to move out of the parent's home after all and get a second chance at millions. Just when you thought it was safe to look up, someone takes one of those hammers from the beat the mole game and pounds you back down. Apparently the lifeless careers of people we thought were going to be gone forever has turned into another possible 15 minutes or longer. There is talk of a Hills movie. Why not right? The show was fake, so it is not like they are not used to scripts. Seriously though, who is going to watch a Hills movie. Even if you are one of the people who loved the show, how do you think this will look in a 90 minute movie? The show is not designed for a movie. What this is going to do though is to give a season or two of more shows. Even if the movie makes nothing, MTV will probably give them a season while they are making the movie and another season after. If the movie is a hit, then expect to see all of them again. We were thisclose to all of them getting real jobs. It is not just Speidi that is out of money. Many of them are desperate for money and are having a tough time getting jobs and it was all going to be over soon. You have no idea how depressed this makes me.
They just made a movie called Hot Tub Time Machine. Nothing shocks me anymore.
ReplyDeleteYou've seen Idiocracy, right? That movie was reeeeeeally prescient.
Um, Hot Tub Time Machine was AWESOME.
ReplyDeleteI never watched this show so I don't care, but it DID bring us the horror that was Speidi, so consider me against this. I thought the show ended because they all WANTED real jobs, though?
Yeah, Hot Tub Time Machine cracked me up!!
ReplyDeletestraight to DVD... unless they go the NCR 17 route and they can do pay per view
ReplyDeleteHot Tub Time Machine was awesomely funny!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, Jesus. Am I *seriously* going to have to stream that shit on Netflix when I get home? ;-)
ReplyDeleteHot Tub Time Machine was awesome.
ReplyDeleteIda. Watch it.

ReplyDeleteI was laughing so hard watching Hot Tub Time machine that my daugher told me other people in the theater were looking at me! that movie was friggin hilarious!!!
ReplyDeleteoh, and that possible Hills movie? Just watch Hot Tub Time Machine.
ReplyDeleteIda. Seriously. Do you remember the 80s? Then watch Hot Tub Time Machine. I've seen it twice now.
ReplyDeleteAlright, alright. I'm all for a good stoner flick every once in a while, and it beats some depressing documentary about how corn's going to invade the world and suffocate us all or something.
ReplyDeleteHot Tub Time Machine was fkn terrible. the humour was so forced and obviously contrived and bloody predictable that it wasn't even funny. 3 people walked out in the theatre. i, being a cheap mofo, did not.
ReplyDeleteI watched every episode of the Hills and there is no way I'm watching this. Enty, Speidi are the only ones desperate for money, the rest have all quietly gone away and gotten gigs somewhere and were smart to hire financial advisors.
With all due respect, jax, as I recall, you thought "She's Out of My League" was WAY funnier, and I thought that movie was fucking terribly unfunny. Different strokes for different folks!
ReplyDeleteHot Tub Time Machine had funny parts when they directly related to the 80s- I would say the rest of the movie sucked. The story line was forced and so transparently 'hollywood' where they think the audience is so dumb they have to spoon feed us the plot lines and jokes...eh, I give it a C.
ReplyDeleteSo Ida- good for getting stoned to but not for much else :)
btw- you know there is no market for The Hills movie when we'd rather talk about a movie that came out a year or two ago over discussing the Hills!
ReplyDeleteHAHAHAHA
I was underwhelmed by Hot Tub Time Machine, but it's worth watching for Crispin Glover's awesomeness. Rob Corddry's character was really annoying and unfunny to me, and the rest was so-so. My friends LOVED it.
ReplyDeleteOh, and Craig Robinson is also great.
ReplyDeleteI'm another Hills watcher who would never pay to see a movie.
I watched The Hills for a while, but I got so tired of watching these kids my age having tons of money to burn on really expensive junk, all while managing to not work.
ReplyDeleteI work too hard at my JOB to deal with the incessant ramblings of a bunch of privileged twats.
I think that sound I just heard was my will to live jumping out the window.
ReplyDeleteVicki, so funny, I almost choked on my toast. (Morning here in Australia)
ReplyDeletebarf. I don't know if it's the mid-afternoon alcohol or the mention of the Hills.
ReplyDeleteJust barf.
Not even straight to DVD. This one's going straight to cable.
ReplyDeleteI hope the movie falls through so this rhyme can come true:
ReplyDeleteSpencer Pratt would eat no phatt,
His wife would eat no peen,
And now so broke they both must work,
To lick some toilets clean.
I watched every episode also, but would NOT want to see the movie. What's the point?
ReplyDeleteI don't think Entourage should be made into a movie, either, while we're on cable TV shows to movies.
Arrested Development....that's my only concession.
Hot Tub Time Machine was a funny movie. The name was stupid, but the movie was somewhat clever and cute. I don't see how that movie compares at all to a Hills movie.
ReplyDeleteIf they make this Hills movie, I have a feeling it will make more money and break more records than Harry Potter, Titanic and Avatar put together. (yes that was sarcasm)
