Today's Blind Item
This up and coming singer is probably B list right now with a string of hits under her belt and a high profile opening slot for someone else. Anyway, I hate to see what she will be like when she is A list if this quote is any indication. Someone asked her whether she thought she could be the next Mary J Blige and our singer said, "Mary J Blige? More like Mary J Goodbye. There is a new queen now."
nicki minaj?
ReplyDeleteNicki Minaj. She is on tour with Britney.
ReplyDelete"Her Minajesty", of course...
ReplyDeleteNikki Minaj FTW!

ReplyDeleteI thought that too, but is Nicki a singer or a rapper?
ReplyDeleteok Nicki. I also read a recent interview where she says she's like the new lauren hill, but better. whatever you say dear.
ReplyDeleteMinaj for sure.
ReplyDeleteI like this blind in the morning business. Making sure we get 'em :)
PS - any one of you want to tangle with Mary J? Minaj might have opened a big can of whoop ass.
ReplyDeletesounds like Nikki Minaj although she is more of a rapper than a singer.
ReplyDelete@RQ
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Mary J. Blige, she has come a long way and has definitely earned her title of Queen of R&B. Nikki (or whomever it is) better be careful cause as quickly as they gain the fame is as quickly as they lose it.
I tried Googling the quote and Keyshia Cole kept coming up, it sounds more likely to me. She's opening for R Kelly at the moment :)
ReplyDeleteJanelle Monae
ReplyDeleteExactly RocketQueen!
ReplyDeleteNicki Minaj, absolutely.
ReplyDeleteSay goodnight, Nicki.
ReplyDeleteI really doubt Monae. She actually has talent, which means she isn't a frightened child who says ridiculous things like this. Plus the people I know who have worked with her have said she's an absolute sweetheart.
ReplyDeleteNicki Minaj, certainly.
this isn't nicki cause she's a RAPPER! I'm going with Keysha cole!
ReplyDeleteWhat RocketQueen said.
ReplyDeleteSomeone needs to SIT DOWN.
Keyshia Cole is known to have a stank attitude. Could be her for sure.
ReplyDeleteI keep reading articles where the interviewer baits their interviewee by asking them to compare themselves to another celebrity. Sadly, the most common response is to diss that celebrity in some way, which of course is exactly why the interviewer asked the question in the first place. Controversy sells.
ReplyDeleteTrash talking about the competition doesn't automatically give a person more talent, so it's pointless. Graciousness, humility and class go a long way. I hope it's not Minaj. She's much too talented, and I'd hope she wouldn't be so insecure as to diss someone like Mary J. Blige.
Aimee that's coorect& Layna Day u got it spot on. Keysha Cole is the first name that came to mind...Nicki Minaj is a rapper like Lauryn (who sings in addition)whereby the comparison.
ReplyDelete*correct*
ReplyDeletefirst guess was Keyisha Cole.
ReplyDeleteI can't hate...I mean, you gotta believe in yourself. She could have found a classier way to say it.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your ride, pompous ass. Yeah, could TOTALLY see Minaj doing this shit.
ReplyDeleteEvery SINGLE PERSON i know who knows of her either hates her music OR (like me) likes maybe 1/2 of her songs and cant stand the other half. Thats not how you get to Mary J Blige status. Plus, Mary has cred because of where she came from.
Nikki and Drake (both in Lil Wayne's Young Money crew) have about as much street cred as me! lol.
Seriously, Drake and his Degrassi ass and Nikki and her literally fake ass (i'd stake my life thats a butt implant) should just enjoy what they got while they got it and shudup. End Rant~
I don't care who it is. It's a funny line.
ReplyDeleteIt's 100% Nikki Minaja and last year she sang live on an MTV award show and dogs the world over began to howl. She can't sing for shit.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't even listen to 30 seconds of a Nicki whatever her name is song. Trash.
ReplyDeleteHow bizarre. I originally thought Keri Hilson. Can see Cole saying it as well...to call Nicki Minaj a singer is being waayyy to generous.
