Suicide Or Payback?
Rebecca Nalepa was found hanging from a second floor balcony with her hands and feet bound. Although it kind of looks like a suicide, police officers in San Diego think something more sinister is at play. Really? You mean because how the hell did she hang herself if her arms and legs were both bound and manage to tie herself to the second story balcony?
Rebecca was the live in girlfriend of a corporate big shot in San Diego named Jonah Shacknai. Apparently two days earlier she had been watching the 6 year old son of Jonah when the boy tumbled down the huge grand staircase of the house and was pretty badly injured.
The next night, there was a huge party in the house which overlooks the beach on Coronado island in San Diego. The very next morning after the party is when Jonah's brother found the body hanging, cut it down and called police. The woman was alive when he cut her down but she was unable to survive. The question is who did it, and why? Party guest? Jonah? Jonah's brother? Or was it actually suicide?
Very interesting, indeed. I say someone killed her.
ReplyDeleteSorry I just never bought the "suicide while bound" theory, it just makes absolutely no sense.
ReplyDeleteIt would be really difficult to throw yourself over a balcony with your hands and feet bound. Like really difficult. There is way more to this story. I have a hard time believing the motivation for this murder was an injured child (unless she has a history of either negligence or other abuse).
ReplyDeleteHow tragic, for all involved. I guess if you were really trying to commit suicide from a balcony, you wouldnt want your body to involunterely do whatever it could to stay alive, ie try to climb up or something, so perhaps binding together your feet and hands would be a way to combat that?

ReplyDeleteThe stories I saw didn't give much credence to the suicide theory, but the usual "we aren't ruling anything out" line that cops always give.
ReplyDeleteDon't buy the suicide thing either. Very creepy. Whoever did this apparently thinks they are going to get away with this since they didn't bother to be subtle. Hopefully having that blind spot will make catching that person and proving a case against them that much easier.
ReplyDeleteObviously not suicide.
ReplyDeleteAn alleged (aw, hell, everyone knows he did it) murderer named Maury Travis managed to hang himself in the St. Louis County jail with his hands bound. He even left a note, supposedly. Investigators said he had a very extensive knowledge of bondage which he used to torture the dozen to 20 women he killed. I still hope someone offed him instead.
ReplyDeleteNope, not suicide...
ReplyDeleteSeriously...you child falls down the stairs and is badly injured and you throw a party the next day!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely not suicide...
but since it's california, nothing will ever be done about it
ReplyDeleteDo people who hang themselves do so naked? That seems a little off to me right there. I'd also like to know what her mental state was like since the 6 yo was injured, and were they blaming her.
ReplyDeleteIf the father thought that she hurt the kid or pushed him off on purpose I could see a GRAND motive, especially as he's clearly a single father.
ReplyDeleteI knew Jonah Shacknai several years ago; he is a really nice guy, very funny and extremely bright. This story really floored me; I cannot believe he would have any involvement in anything unsavory. I don't know this girlfriend and have never met the brother, but clearly there is a lot more to this story than has come out so far.
ReplyDeleteJesus Christ, that's disturbing.
ReplyDeleteObviously suicide. I bet she put all that semen in herself with a turkey baster, too. Happens all the time.
ReplyDeleteCase solved, rub hands together, let's go get a beer!
Wow, so not suicide. But why a big party? And wouldn't they all be at the hospital with the kid?
ReplyDeleteDefinitely not suicide but I'm not sure about the link to the kid falling down the stairs. I mean...it was an accident. He was 6, not 2. Would that really be enough to kill your girlfriend over? One weird thing I read was that the CEO's daughter posted "RIP Max" on her Facebook. He's not dead...?
ReplyDeleteThe 6 year old son, Max, has now died of his injuries.
