I don't know what kind of dirt Brooke Mueller has promised or given to Radar Online, but it must be some really good stuff. That is the only explanation I can think of for the puff piece they posted today about Brooke getting out of rehab. I want Brooke to get sober. I feel very sorry for her. Not only because she was married to Charlie Sheen, but I think he encouraged a relapse a few times which is pretty crappy of him. The article though spends multiple paragraphs talking about how Brooke is doing great and she is sober now and what happened when she was trying to buy drugs from people in cars in Maui is long behind her and she is fine now. Seriously? That was like two weeks ago. I am not sure this whole outpatient rehab thing works. You go home at night to temptation and then pretend rehab is like school during the day? I could be wrong, but don't you think inpatient rehab is probably the only way to make it followed by outpatient rehab?

Radar Pulls Out Kneepads For Brooke Mueller
I don't know what kind of dirt Brooke Mueller has promised or given to Radar Online, but it must be some really good stuff. That is the only explanation I can think of for the puff piece they posted today about Brooke getting out of rehab. I want Brooke to get sober. I feel very sorry for her. Those poor kids.
ReplyDeleteDitto Cecilia00. My thoughts exactly. Mama AND Daddy are f'ed up. I pray there are some other stable people around for those kids.
ReplyDeleteshe shoulda stayed at sober valley.....
ReplyDeleteThems is some crazy eyes.
ReplyDeleteI went to inpatient rehab over 11 1/2 years ago, it was long term, it was for 6 months (I was a full blown self destructive thinking I'm a winner alcoholic) it was the best thing that ever happened to me and I'm still clean and sober to this day.
ReplyDeleteI did try outpatient, 30 days, 6 weeks and they didn't work for me (some of those worked for others though). I needed hardcore therapy anything less than 6 months was not enough, it was intense but today I am happy, joyous and free and don't touch any shit and nor do I want to. I also have no children so my decision was not affecting anyone else but me. I wish her success, having the devil on your back is a bitch, getting sober is not just about quitting the drinking and/or drugging, it's changing your whole life and then some.
Anyhoot, I'll get off my soap box because really my heart goes out to her, I know it's hard, but worth it in the long run. I hope she finds a healthy support system, people that will help her get to where she can finally be emotionally healthy.

ReplyDelete@Miz Caramel....Thanks for sharing your story, I'm glad you are happy and healthy and joyous! I have always wondered on how you can get totally clean and sober in just 30 days, it does not seem like enough time.
ReplyDeleteMy sister has been sober for about 4 months now, she works at it every single day. A couple of years ago when she was over 1 year sober, my family (dad and sisters) enabled her to try this "great wine" they had at a bbq and she went on a week long bender after that and it started everything all over again. I was so pissed and disgusted, it's like they had to keep her down so they do not have to look at themselves! Now at family gatherings she is stronger to say no and deeply regrets her last decision to just try the wine. It was really sad but a hard lesson too.
I agree with your idea of inpatient rehab. Also this short 28 day treatment isn't long enough. A lot of long term treatment went down the drain when Regan took away funding and I think it possible many people have been lost since. I knew people who were hard cases and won due to being in treatment as long as they needed to be there. These days some people come out half baked.
ReplyDeleteI don't feel sorry for Brooke for being married to Charlie. She knew who and what he was when she married him. It was no secret. Brooke was a drunk and crack head long before she met Charlie Sheen It is not his fault. She saw Charlie as unlimited drug money. It's his fault for having kids with her when he knows damn well neither one of them is fit to be a parent. She doesn't care about those kids. The only reason she's fighting Charlie for custody is so She'll get the fat child support checks that go with them. Where else is she going to get her drug money from? Those kids don't stand a chance. I think her parents are getting tired of them and since they raised Brooke are they really such a great choice to take on these 2 anyway? Look how Brooke turned out.

ReplyDeleteNo sympathy, sorry.
ReplyDeleteKudos to MzCaramel, and to anyone else who works hard and does whatever's necessary to conquer self-destructive tendencies. I know it isn't easy.
ReplyDeleteI just cannot summon up any compassion whatsoever for Brooke, though. I don't know her personally but I do know people who work for her family. Everything I've ever seen or heard about her leads me to believe she is truly a vile person. As selfish, shallow, ego-centric, emotionally infantile and narcissistic as they come. Her attitude and behavior borders on sociopathic. Those poor kids.
Miz Caramel, congrats on your good health!
ReplyDeleteI believe addiction is a combination of physical and mental problems. Because how is it that some people can abuse drugs but stop (or control their use) before they qualify as an 'addict' and others can't?
I think the addict has a physical or genetic propensity for getting hooked on drugs/alcohol easier than someone without this genetic susceptibility. You need to address this as well as the mental side of things.
Being born with this problem is a roll of the dice. Those of us who don't have it need to thank God (or your lucky stars, whichever you believe in).
I wish Brooke the best. She has two boys that need her. :(
Shiny_special_one, that's very sad if she is like that, but could it be that the drugs are making her that way?
ReplyDeleteWas she always vile/sociopathic?
Mz.Caramel, thank you for telling us your side. You seem like a very strong person to have overcome that.
ReplyDeleteBrooke, IMO, is not as strong or as level headed. She really needs to ask herself what she'd choose in life her habit or her kids. Sadly, I think the habit would win.
I forgot to say that while I was at home waiting for the gas company to come, I actually watched a few minutes of "The World According to Paris" the other day, specifically because I saw that Brooke was going to be in the episode. I was curious to see what she was like. All I'm gonna say is a) The sound of her voice startled me--she sounds like a 70-yeard old crack whore with a 5-pack-a-day hobit, and b) she comes off like she just might be the most self-absorbed person on the planet. That says a lot, considering she was on Paris Hilton's show.
ReplyDeletePanda: It could be the drugs, I don't know. I'm willing to chalk up a lot of it to drugs, because I know they can take people over. The thing is, though, I don't know if Brooke has the personal depth required to pull herself out of drug addiction. The people I know who know her have not known her since birth. But they have known her for about half her life, and from what I hear she has always been self-obsessed and manipulative. And, surprise, surprise, her parents are also shallow and egocentric. Big-time enablers.
ReplyDeleteResearch has shown it takes 6 months to a year for lifestyle changes to sink in to your brain. She may be sober for a short time, but she will be off the wagon in no time.
ReplyDeleteI just celebrated a year and a half sober two days ago and I've never been to rehab inpatient or outpatient. Still, I have been really fortunate to find a solution. Ms Caramel is totally right, it's about changing your whole life and not just quitting. Outpatient rehab could totally work for someone who was ready to change their life and accept help. It doesn't look like Brooke is there yet.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely crack eyes.
ReplyDeleteWell done, MizCaramel :)
