IMF Chief Rape Victim Lied

Apparently at some point today, the former head of the IMF is going to walk free. If not completely, then at least without bond. I think he is a creepy guy who has probably assaulted many women in his life as reports have suggested, but this one, the one he was actually arrested for is going to go away. CBS News is reporting the maid who accused him of rape has too many holes in her story and has lied to investigators every step of the away. She is also connected to the mob and apparently has well over $100K in at least one bank account which increased daily last year when multiple people made cash deposits every day to her account. In addition, she has claimed rape before which turned out not to be true. At this point prosecutors can't decide if this was a straight money for sex thing or if she was trying to extort him. This kind of thing sucks. For one, it makes victims who were raped less likely to report a rape. Number two, I do think this guy is a scumbag, but now he can say how all the other women who came forward to were also lying and blah blah blah and he has never done anything wrong his entire life, except for screwing countries over when the IMF loans them money for a situation the IMF probably created in the first place.

  1. He is absolutely a total scumbag. It's really unfortunate that the maid is also a scumbag.

  4. It's Kobe, Duke LaCrosse, and every other powerful man preys on "questionable" woman scenario all over again. These scumbags prey on vulnerable women who won't hold up in our justice system for a reason...nothing sticks to them. I hate every damn aspect of this case for all the reasons Enty describes.

We have victim's rights laws but they don't seem to work - instead it seems to be: can you discredit a victim? are you powerful, male & wealthy? Rape & be violent, nothing will come of it.

Watch this assholio become the next Prez. of France.

    UGH...

  5. What blondegossip said.

Part of me is suspicious of this woman's credibility, and another part wonders if DSK just has some super evil and efficient defense team who managed to extract information that they were able to magnify into something damning.

It's difficult enough to successfully prosecute most rapists, due to asshole attorneys bringing up issues like what the victim was wearing, whether she had the nerve to be sexually active prior to the attack, etc. If the housekeeper IS lying, she's not really doing much for sisterhood. :-(

  6. While I agree with Blondegossip, I'm also sick and tired of women claiming rape where none exists. How many women who are actually raped are afraid to come forward because of how rape victims are victimized all over again? Unless a cloistered nun is found raped and nearly dead on the chapel floor, the woman is always suspected of lying.

  8. Are they for real with this?!?! This has money, power and influence written all over it. They got a mighty powerful "fixer" to make the victim look real shady because last time I checked, I don't know anyone with mob ties or that much money in the back who works as a.... MAID, WTF?!?!? Come on now, maybe she is here illegally and is being threatened or something else is up but I am not buying all these stories they are making up about the woman.

  9. I cannot believe how unobjective this article by Enty is.

Here is another point of view which might interest some. Written by a very well respected American journalist and the father of Reaganomics.

  11. Police and Press should have handled this case more carefully.
He was judged AND condamned before the real trial, and was easy to see holes in the case: never a maid is alowed to clean a $3K a day suite when the guest is in the bathroom.
So, you can add to the list of scumbags the Sofitel New York Hotel.
If this set-up was intended to finish him politically, is now saddly back-firing

  12. in France, DSK is known as an oasfish player ( he's our french Bill Clinton) and i can believe he had sex with the woman but not a rape

  13. THIS is why women who are really raped don't report it. Jesus.

  14. I don't believe in calling someone a rapist or victim until I hear all the facts of the case.

I'm not ready to jump on the bandwagon to call Casey Anthony guilty until I hear all the facts of that case.

I never really believed the maid's story...
