DSK Maid Speaks

At first I was just going to skim the Newsweek interview with Nafissatou Diallo, who is known now as the DSK maid. After the first page of the article I found myself engrossed in her personal story and the her descriptions of assault not only at the hands of Dominique Strauss-Kahn, but a gang rape by soldiers back in her home of Guinea. This is a fascinating read.

  1. Hubby subscribes to Newsweek, but I rarely read it anymore, esp. after the terrible Di/Cathy cover. I'll take a look if you recommend it, tho.

  2. Wow, that cover is very tabloid trashy looking. Sad to see what is happening to Newsweek.

  4. Yeah I really hate what Newsweek has become after Tina Brown has become editor. I've been a subscriber for many years but am seriously thinking about not continuing. But this article looks good.

  5. If you're making money by being a prostitute or prostituting and then charging rich men with rape for money, why would you ever also clean up hotels room in your spare time? You never know when you're going to get John Mayer coming into your hotel, shitting all over the place.

  8. I stopped reading Newsweek years ago - it's a real piece of crap now.

  9. I believe he is a Rapist. There are far too many women coming out with allegations and they have been for years. His wife is an idiot for staying with him.

  10. Remember that piece Bill Maher did on his show regarding Newsweek a few weeks ago. Newsweek features 6 Sarah Palin covers a year and 6 Jesus Christ covers a year and every once in a while you get a human interest story like this one. That's what it's become.

Good for the maid though for not cowering in fear.

  12. I seen some of an interview she did on TV, sounds like they are really putting this woman through the wringer. I would like to hear from the other woman, sounds like this jerk has been getting away with this for too long.

  13. I really feel for the victim in this story, whoever it is.
but focusing on superficial smut, doesn't her picture on the cover remind you or Ahnold's staff-baby momma? is it just me? how unfortunate for this poor lady :D
