Bruce Beresford-Redman Extradited To Mexico - Maybe

Yesterday a federal judge said there was enough evidence that Bruce Beresford-Redman killed his wife and should be extradited to Mexico. The former Survivor producer is accused of killing his wife in Mexico after she found out he was having an affair. He also took out a nice big life insurance policy on her before they left on their trip. Even though he had his passport taken, the guy was able to sneak back into the United States and for the past 18 months has been fighting to stay here and not go back. A judge yesterday ordered him extradited but he is going to appeal the ruling which means he will remain in the States for at least another year while the process slowly moves through the courts. The guy needs to be sent back. The thing is this is taking so long that when he is eventually sent back, he will probably only end up with some short sentence.

  1. Even if he gets sent back and sentenced, he'll be able to bribe his way out pretty quick if he still has any money. It being a high profile case would make it a much more expensive bribe, but I bet it's still do-able.

  2. I bet (hope) he gets the death penalty pretty quickly because of that Mexican citizen executed in Texas. Fucking Rick Perry.

  3. Wow, I'd LOVE to see him rot in one of those tiny, rat-infested Mexican jail cells.

  4. You're probably right feisty. I don't know why I'm surprised, it's not like killing your wife means you're smart, but all these idiots always get a huge life insurance policy right before they do it.

I hope it brings some comfort to the family that there might be justice.

  5. Watched a documentary on the Mexican judicial system for a murder trial, and it is nothing like ours. There you are guilty till proven innocent, and you can be found guilty even if overwhelming proof shows otherwise. 95% conviction rates for murder trials. Don't see him getting off easy at all if convicted.

  8. @Matthew, I agree their justice system is nothing like ours, but probably for different reasons than you cited. I'm sure they have a high conviction rate, but I don't think that really has much to do with whether this guy will actually be punished.

My views on Mexico are formed from growing up near the border. I've been to more than one bar-b-q that was a fundraiser to pay for someone to be released from jail (non-violent offenses). I don't see someone with his resources staying in prison very long.

  9. I want SOMEBODY, ANYBODY, to please explain to me why so many men will put their entire god damn lives on the life for SEX!!???? Not even for a passionate LOVE! Just sex! And with less than attractive women or men in some instances. Why is it worth losing reputations, families, careers, even lives? Are men's brains that inextricably tied up with their dicks that they just can't think straight? Good god.

  11. I believe the kids are with the mom's parents, and as far as he's concerned I hope he fries.....
And was this just because he didn't want to pay alimony and child support...or was the potential of all that life insurance the reason....I guess we'll never know.

  12. Every time I see a picture of this man, I think that it's Jason Bateman.
