Blind Items Revealed

March 10, 2011

This is just a great story. Earlier this week, two women were having lunch at a place in Toronto when they noticed that a man had sat down. This man, who used to be A+ list back in the day and is still loved by enough people that he is a B list singer and reality star saw them looking at him. They waved and he waved back. This is like their biggest star crush. That would usually be it, but our celebrity, got up from his table, walked over to the two women, sits down and starts chatting with them. He stays and talks to them about his career and answers all of their questions. Then, one of the women asks if she can take his photo and a waiter rushes over and says there is a no photo policy, but our celebrity will have none of that and says of course. He then takes a picture, chats some more and even asks to use one of the stories about him that one of the women shared which he is going to use in his shows. After he left, the restaurant manager came by and said that most celebrities are a-holes but this guy was the greatest and the biggest tipper in a place that gets its share of A list movie stars.

Donny Osmond

  4. Donny Osmond is still alive? Hm.

  5. I met Donny and can confirm he is an A List Sweetheart. My sis and I were fans of his and when I interviewed him, I asked if he would call my sis (who had cancer) and he did. She was thrilled. They had a real conversation, not just "Hi, I'm Donny Osmond. Hope you feel well." When she died, he remembered speaking to her and what a great outlook she had then. Class act for sure!!!!

  6. OH YAY!!

I love it when kindness blinds are reviled!

  7. I much prefer the cool celebrity and kindess blinds vs. the a-hole/sloppy drunk/closeted gay/jerk & jerkette blinds. Thanks for revealing this one.

  9. I have a lot of the respect for the Osmonds they have weathered up and downs in show biz and is nice they found success again in Las Vegas.

  10. Awww, god I LOVE the kindness reveals. Isn't Marie supposed to be a bitch, though.

  12. I always loved David Cassidy instead of Donny and have come to REGRET it!

  13. He's always creeped me out - but now I have a little something to like about him.

  14. Fuck what most of us have heard, see!!!! NICE GUYS DONT FINISH LAST!!!

When I worked in a recording studio I got to meet and work with tons of A+ listers and I loved how a good bunch of them were really sweet and down to earth. One person in specific who comes off as a collossal douche in interviews and has the douchiest image is actually one of the nicest people ever. Go figure

I love that so much, nothing like someone who has manners, regardless of career/occupation.

  15. I can understand why some celebrities have bad days when they are cranky. And I can forgive it if it is a rare occurance. But I like this one.

  19. @Snowbunny: Thanks! She knew I was interviewing him that day and when she called, she got so excited. She said, "Did you know he was going to call me?" I said, "How do you think he got your number?" We had a good laugh.

My sis and I had his posters (and others) plastered all over our walls. But we kept one poster-free because we didn't like undressing and seeing all those eyes! I told Donny about that and he BLUSHED!

  20. I met Donny back in 1990 or 1991 - he had just released that hit single (Soldier of Love) and was in town & on the radio to promote the tour. I had been an avid fan of the Donny and Marie Show, and had crushed a bit on him back in the day. I called and talked to him, and won a chance to have lunch with him and some other fans! It was totally cheesy - we met at a Pizza Hut, but he was amazing. He took time to talk to every single fan at the table, and when he spoke to me he looked directly into my eyes and completely charmed me. He would have made a perfect bartender! We all also won tickets, but I had to work that night and couldn't go to the show. I still have those tickets somewhere and Donny completely won me over for life.

  22. @yaca - I worked in radio a few years ago before I studied journalism and we'd have very famous artists come in and what you say is true. The nice ones do tend to last many years and the douchebags with attitude don't.

Haha never met him but if I did I'd light put my fingers to his lips, whisper ' shhhhhhh ' and ride it like I'm on the Kentucky derby.

The person i am speaking of, believe it or not....Will.I.Am! The dude is soo freaking nice and soft spoken in person. Maybe a bit slow for my taste, but really sweet and thoughtful of others around him.

  24. Ahhh...my first crush! Glad to hear this!

    Fuck ya!

I've been in the business for many years, have done artist development, brand development, management, marketing, Internet at studios, worked as a P.A and also dated lots of people in the business.

In short I have lost my career a few times, regained and all because I have always been very kind and thoughtful to others around me. As a woman i had it rough... I even had a couplr of miscarriages and nervous breakdowns because of the stress, but on the long run, all the assholes who went about their asshole business fell. And how hard did they fall.

Sounds cliche but its true. Hype only lasts so long, hell even talent becomes a small factor if you're a twat. If you are pleasant doors will open for you. Might take a day or 6 months or 2 years but all opportunities given to those people are the ones that really matter and such.

    ReplyDelete
  27. All opportunities given to those who are decent human beings tend to be the valid ones.

I am actually on a break because working in the US territory has been a bit strenuous. It's abundant with asswipes who are fame whores, no talent, and have no respect for others. I surely didn't encounter as much abroad.

  30. yaca yada yuka, you live in LA, it is its own thing.

    ReplyDelete
  31. @Robert

I swear. To. Gawd. I hate LA so much. I'm due in Berlin in January and I cannot wait.

I moved here already with a career, knowing everyone and their mum and even then this wasn't my cup of tea. I do my job bc I love it and all I want is to go to work, get home, have some drinks and possibly falls asleep with my pants around my ankles *cough cough*

I do not understand why people seek fame and such, I got posted on a few blogs a couple of years ago and I freaked out and disappeared from the public eye. I just do not get it.

    @Jason
Thank you! I am a long time reader, and have come to appreciate all of you guys who regularly post so I decided to be a bit scandalous and post myself.

    yada yuka,

Know anything about Josh Groban? Is he a nice guy?

  34. I always was a big Donny fan, as for Marie, I love her just as much. If she's a bitch so what? With all those kids and douchey husbands who wouldn't get a little testy? I don't think she is though, she comes across as a very opinionated and fun gal to me.

  36. I'm feeling the Puppy Love on this one.
