Blind Item
When I tell you later about this couple having sex, your jaw will hit the floor. You just would not expect it in a million years. This happened in the very late 80's and very early 90's. This permanent A list actor who has not really done anything lately to continue to merit that status was dating three actresses at the same time. One actress became his wife. One was someone who would help him with his kinks, and our actor has a lot of them. The other was an actress who was just starting out at the time, but is now pretty close to A list and once actually was. Much like Hugh Hefner, our actor would rotate the three throughout the week, and often throughout the same 24 hours. Apparently he really liked the newcomer, but she thought he was way too old for her. So, she moved on and probably regrets who she moved on to almost everyday.

ReplyDeleteI thought of Harrison Ford, too. I also thought of Jack Nicholson -- a known womanizer with a taste for kinkiness, and ALL he does anymore is go to basketball games. And sit in the front row of the Kodak Theater with his sunglasses on, of course. And didn't he marry Angelica Huston?
The last person mentioned intriques me. Who is now married and apparently hating it? The only person I can think of is Katie Holmes, but she's obviously too young to fit this blind.

I think Sandra Bullock is the 3rd. She was A list there for a while and is still a strong B, not too mention Jesse James.

Jack never married Broussard, only procreated with her. I am pretty sure he has only been married once and that was over 40 years ago. He has a few kids out there with various girlfriends but he did not marry them.

Burt and Loni were married in 1988. I like the guess though. Basinger was born in 1953.

ReplyDeleteIf I read this correctly it happened by the very early 90s and the actor subsequently married one of the actresses. Based on that only Warren Beatty qualifies. Jack Nicholson has been divorced since 1968 and never legally remarried. BruCe Willis married Demi Moore in 1987. Burt Reynolds married Loni Anderson in 1988. Only Warren married after the "very early 90s" (to Annette Bening in 1992). He was 55 when he married so he probably qualifies as "way too old" for an actress just starting out.

He basically hit on, then went to third base with someone at a party, then she had to go, realized she forgot something and came back to see him already in flagrante delicto with another woman at the party. LOL.

ReplyDeleteI'm with Beatty, Bening and Madonna but I have trouble with Halle Berry as the newcomer. The timing is right but frankly it wouldn't make my "jaw hit the floor" or be something I "would not expect in a million years". I think we need someone else to have that effect on me.

I was actually thinking Tom Hanks. I wouldn't be at all surprised if it were Warren Beatty even though he's been married for awhile. He just has that reputation. Tom Hanks always has an aw shucks, not me thing going. He did even back in the early 80s.

I would say that since Larry Crown and Charlie Wilson's War weren't very well received, he's A based on his past work and reputation. He was in Joe Vs the Volcano with meg Ryan at that time. She used to be A, no longer is and was still relatively new back then. Rita was the one he married and Kim Cattrall was in Bonfire of the Vanities - maybe she helped with the kinks?
I like the Warren Beatty guess. It fits the timeline with Madonna and Annette Benning. Madonna was a bit shocked he married Annette Benning so quickly. The newcomer could have been Halle Berry, but I like Jennifer Aniston bettter.

My guess, at least for the newcomer, is Halle Berry. It's got to be someone other than WB though. Not a shocker at all.
How about Tom Cruise? Married Mimi Rogers in '87, when he was 25. Had been living with Rebecca de Mornay. So the last actress would have to be very young, if she thought 25 was way too old. And who wouldn't be surprised to hear he had had 3 women on the go?

Remembering that this was twenty plus years ago (i.e. late 80s-very early 90s) Tom was still in his early 30s (by comparison Warren Beatty was then in his mid 50s). I am still hung up on which newcomer would drop my jaw. Halle Berry, Sandra Bulloch and possibly Jennifer Aniston fit the timelines, the career arcs and the bad subsequent relationships. Personally only Aniston would approach OMG. Someone mentioned Robin Wright Penn, fine actress but never really worked enough to be A list. Someone mentioned Goopy but she was borderline legal at the time and I would have thought that would have been mentioned in the blind if applicable. The only name I could think of as an OMG would be Jodie Foster but (a) I do not believe she has any subsequent relationships she regrets day to day and (b) she had worked continuously since childhood and, while on the cusp of big movies at that time, does not really fit as a newcomer. I guess I will just have to wait for the reveal.
