Vancouver Kissing Couple - Posed? Crime?
The search is on for the couple that appeared to be making out amidst all the rioting going on in Vancouver on Wednesday night. Yesterday as the entire population of Vancouver seemed to converge on downtown to clean the mess of the rioters, employers gave employees time off from work or shut down work for the day to aid in the effort, people continue to search for the couple who were lying on the pavement. When you look at the photo on the top you can see why everyone is intrigued.
However, with the search has also come new angles including the one above which has led people to believe that at a minimum it is posed and a set up, but that there might also be a crime being committed. No one knows if the woman was a willing participant as it appears there is something more going on than just kissing and she is surrounded by a group of guys with cameras.
The real mystery here is where her pants disappeared to.
ReplyDeleteLooks like she's wearing a denim miniskirt. I would hope that if she cried out for help, someone would call the police rather than take more photos from above.

ReplyDeletei thought this was staged from the first time i saw it.
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool. He actually sounds like a really sweet guy. And to think some were about ready to accuse him of rape!!! (I was kind of one of them!)
ReplyDeleteHere they are: http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/story/2011/06/17/vancouver-kissing-couple.html?ref=rss
ReplyDeleteI love how they're claiming they were innocent but knocked down by riot police. Everyone was told to get out of the streets or you get knocked down. Based on the millions of damage to my city, I'm not feeling too sorry for anyone who got knocked down.
Nice find Unknown.
ReplyDeleteCheers for the link :)
I tend to believe the story of the bewildered and bemused mother. You can see the police in the background. I am sure she got knocked down. We don't know if they were rioting (highly doubtful) or just in the wrong place at the right time!
ReplyDeleteRQ - I don't know all the details so you may have a point, but by all accounts they were trying to leave. I'm glad it's turned out to be a sweet story. But I am horrorfied by what happened to your beautiful city.
ReplyDeleteThere is a raw video that was posted by the Vancouver Sun which captured this incident:

@msgirl - it would not have been difficult to leave. The riot police were only on a few keys blocks. I witnessed one group line up...set up...then start thumping their shields before they move forward. Plenty of time to leave the scene. Right now I'm just still so angry at everyone who participated. You don't just "happen" to find yourself in the middle of a street with riot police.
ReplyDeleteWith you, RQ !!
ReplyDeleteRQ, were you there? Wow. I still can't believe what happened.
ReplyDeleteYep. I live about four blocks from where this picture was taken. I watched the game at home, then went out when we heard about the ruckus to take pictures of troublemakers because I was watching the smoke from my balcony anyway. I took some photos and video that are mostly too dark, but looks like lots of people took better photos to help identify. There were police on every street, and I saw two lines of riot police, blocks away from where I stood, taking pictures of people stealing. EVERYONE had an opportunity to leave, there was tons of room. People who got right up in the cops faces were the ones who got knocked down, period.
ReplyDeleteI live in TO and was in the center of the G20 crap... I completely agree with RQ... The riot police give AMPLE warning to vacate... If she actually got knocked down by the riot police, she was just another idiot that wouldn't leave...
ReplyDeleteI'll give her a thousand dollars if it turns out she had no alcohol in her and wasn't just being an idiot lush.
ReplyDeleteIn the midst of a riot and getting knocked down by police because I wouldn't get out the way, my first instinct would also be to start snogging my boyfriend.
ReplyDeleteI would be more mortified over the fact that her ass is hanging out for all the world to see.
